Sorry for my inability to quote you.
In your essay, it could be seen that you made mention of a cyber hack in the USA. It is clear that the USA is not running a cashless society. Hacking happens in all walks of life. So why use the issue of hacking?? Whether or not nigeria runs a cashless society, people will still hack bank accounts and ATM's @aysuccess

Good evening chairman, coordinators, my highly esteemed judges, co-debaters and audience

CASHLESS SOCIETY SHOULD BE INTRODUCED IN NIGERIA SO AS TO HAVE A STABLE ECONOMY

Over the course of history, there have been different forms of payment
systems. Originally barter was quite common. Eventually various forms
of money were introduced. In the mid twentieth century, charge cards
and notes debuted. Ever since then, pundits have been predicting the
demise of paper instruments and the emergence of a cashless society. A
cashless society could be defined as one characterized by few notes
and coins in circulation issued by a central bank. Within the last
decade or so, our world has become rapidly more digitized, For example
we now have internet purchases and social interactions made via short
message service (SMS), e-mails and social networks on the internet, two
important factors that have contributed to this development are the
use of mobile phones and the use of the internet¤¤a part of the above
mentioned digital purchases is digital payments. And when everything
else is mobile, the payments have to be mobile too; we have to be able
to pay for goods and services no matter where we are. Thus there is a
need for an electronic wallet, an e-wallet, with which mobile payments
can be made. Mobile payments are defined as payments for goods,
services and bills with a mobile device such as mobile phones,
smart-phones, or personal digital assistant (PDA) by taking advantage
of wireless and other communication technologies.

The electronic cash payment system is very convenient, even people who
are ill can use it from their sick bed. The time it saves for an
individual cannot be overlooked; someone who works in an office can
pay his bill from his office without much stress or waste of time. In
a cashless economy money is easily accessed, money is instantly
available for everyone without having to be carried around while
currency exchange will be largely unnecessary. ¤¤ A cashless society
will be a big booster for bringing economic uniformity in the world. A
cashless society will further enhance the globalization that
characterizes our present time. Replacing paper cash with cashless
credits or electronic money transfers will also minimize illegal drug
trade, human trafficking, terrorism (will have less access to physical
money) and corruption. ¤¤ A cashless society will go a long way in
making our society and the earth a better place to live in. Physical
money in not traceable, unaccountable, easy to hide or lose, steal,
counterfeit and spend without a trace. As such, paper money has
allowed all sort of criminal activities to thrive. In a cashless
economy, violent crimes such as bank robberies, store hold ups, armed
robberies, employee cash theft, armor car heists, kidnap for ransom
and purse snatching would be significantly reduced if not entirely
eliminated.

A cashless society would check crime rate health problems and the
environment; these in turn affect the economy of the nation. Robbery
cases in the country would reduce drastically because people would
carry only small amount of money or none, wherever they go or in their
homes. Stealing would be discouraged because what they would get from
a robber attack would be so small. People who engage in illegal
businesses would also be affected. Most of these illegal businesses
involve the use of cash because of lack of trust between the parties
and to avoid being tracked if one party is caught. A cashless economy
would discourage such illegal transactions and subsequently save the
nation billions of naira that is lost to illegal activities nationwide
e.g. oil bunkery. There is also the reduced risk of transferring
diseases in a cashless economy. Citizens would be less likely to
become ill due to contamination from bank notes and coins, as cash has
been identified as disease carriers and medium of disease
transmission.¤¤the environment also is not spared because the
resources used for making coins, notes, polymers etc. Are gotten from
our natural environment, mining, plumbing, excessive farming and the
use of harmful chemicals affect our environment negatively. This
indirectly affects the life standard of the people living in our
country. ¤¤This cashless policy will also help reduce corruption.
Paper money is untraceable but e-money can be easily traced, this will
discourage our corrupt politicians from looting our money. In short,
this new policy will help make life easier and more comfortable for
everyone. I'll advise anyone who thinks this policy will fail to go
back and do a little research on how people reacted when GSM was first
spoken of in Nigeria, it was condemned by pessimists, but today we are
all enjoying its presence. I am convinced that if the CBN fully
introduce a cashless system in Nigeria it would be a huge success
; what we should all be talking about is how to make it successful and
not how to stop it.

No wonder the kindle ebook generator i bought is on high demand. i never thought of it being useful since i enjoy blogging. But i installed it. The interface lets you choose

1) how many pages u want your kindle ebook to have
2) whom you wanna accord credits for the book to
3) a title, and content provision for each page
4) you get to specify the number or amount of content you want per page
5) amongst others, but most of all, the generate button, in Kindle format

i think you wuld still have to design the cover yourself, but the content would now be easier, as you can work on different chapters simultaneously.

i kept the software setup cuz of how much i spent on it.....N6, 500 to be precise. After reading this thread, i must say, now i know why it was damn too expensive..

for those that might want the setup for the software, i was thinking of giving it out for 5000, 4000, 3000 ....lolz joking, N1000 shuld be ok, cnt sell it high, my conscience wuld blame me, cuz i never saw any good in it. any one interested can contact me on 08032700738

in the mean time, i'll hurry and start putting what i have seen here to good use. THank you so much @op....i really appreciate this

you are not in a position to determine that dear. Things are good and ok in your area doesnt necessarily mean its the same for everybody in their own area

like seriously you went too far.. Why the comparison na? U did nt even compare well.

Believe it or not! Everyman is responsible for his or her actions. Even if there is a gun at your face, you are responsible for whatever decision you make!.
E.g sm1 aproaches u wit a gun and says curse God or die! What will you do?
like you said, we are entitled to our own decisions, so believe you me, you cant speak for every man

The Last Nazgûl: . I never advocated or campaigned for a total abandonment of indigenous cultures.
but it is as a result of the so called western civilization you stand for, and the tremendous rate at which its impact dawned on us that brought about this
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate:: WiNNER: UNIBEN by getrichfast: 3:52pm On Nov 30, 2013
The Last Nazgûl: . First off, ceteri paribus, no system is perfect and 'western civilisation' is no exception to this as it is plagued with it's own attendant snags and drawbacks. I never advocated for a total neglect of local ways. As I said earlier to one of the questions I fielded, a culture ought to accept and adopt the tenets of another culture without jettisoning it's own principles.
what can you say about that when nigeria is involved, we have been so influenced that our own principles hardly exist to us
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate:: WiNNER: UNIBEN by getrichfast: 3:47pm On Nov 30, 2013
The Last Nazgûl: No, I am not as I do not seek undermine the ingenious contributions of the oriental culture(acupuncture et al) and sundry other cultures, that'll be a fallacy of the worst sort. However, the giant strides of Europeans such as William Rottengen ( Discovery of X-rays), Pierre and Marie Curie, Evangelista Toricelli, Alexander Fleming and sundry others cannot be ignored.
The Western hemisphere I admit is not the birthplace of civilisation
so why then cant we cross breed and get a hybrid, rather than dumping ours completely for theirs

i am not speaking for my self.. I speaking for every man..
you cannot speak for everybody. You cannot sum up every man's point of view into the thoughts of just one person. Dont you think that is one of our problems. The world has accepted USA to be number one. That does not define equality. What then would happen if the US fails in its obligations?? Should we always be tied down to the westerners??
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate:: WiNNER: UNIBEN by getrichfast: 3:39pm On Nov 30, 2013

the low self esteem is not due to influence oh!!.. It is from the individual.. You can tell me to do something bt you cant tell my mind to do it..

I will reiterate again.. We are to blame for the ill effects in our society nt the western civilization.
i believe you speak for yourself, but what about the majority whose low esteem is as a result of inferiority to the westerners
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate:: WiNNER: UNIBEN by getrichfast: 3:37pm On Nov 30, 2013
Incredyable: We all know that Britain colonized America but America is No 1 in the world today, this is because they adopted what they think and know will help them succeed.
Nigeria didn't view it critically but accepted it all wholeheartedly. If we are ready we can still adjust and do well. But the fact that western culture has to be abolished is a fallacy!! We can't do without it.
nobody said it should be abolished. We are only emphasizing on the damage it has caused to our culture
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate:: WiNNER: UNIBEN by getrichfast: 3:35pm On Nov 30, 2013

Thank You Sir!

western culture has helped to avert evils. Proofs include aborting the inhumane killing of Twins, stopped the osu caste system which occurred in the eastern parts of nigeria whereby certain groups of people were refered to as osu. They were thoroughly discriminated and were called names slaves, outcast, untouchable. Stopped the burying of people alive. This was done in the past to appease the gods.
and you believe the likes of this dont happen within some of the said civilized countries. An example racism is not distant when compared to the osu caste system
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate:: WiNNER: UNIBEN by getrichfast: 3:30pm On Nov 30, 2013
Incredyable: Let's assume that this western culture was brought to uniben alone and ndu remained in our old culture, in a competition like this how would you participate knowing fully well that English language is the accepted language and any other languages are vernacular. Western education has done more good than bad to us both individually and nationally.my question is how will you cope in the society as a whole?
i cant cope with them, and they cant cope with me either. Fine, the introduction of one official language is good, but does that mean we should abandon ours. Ok, take for instance, the official language has been introduced, some learnt, some didnt. Isnt that worse, majority of people within your own tribe would not even be able to commune with you, because you dont have a cultural language background
