Thanks Jayjaycee and everyone keeping this thread going.

I am new here and just fund my Trove account with dollar. How long does it take to reflect please?
Will appreciate tips on shares with hope for someone intending to hold for some time.

Jayjaycee18:
GEVO share price currently down by 25% in today's premarket after news of $350 million stock offering. This is totally expected because companies sometimes have ro raise cash to either expand to meet product demand or fund new business opportunities with enhance long term profitability.
For me, this share price dip today is nothing more than an opportunity for discerning investors to either get in or average down at a good discounted price.

Flew them to Dubai in December and return with them in January.
In Dubai, you can do the COVID test from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), they have centers at some of the popular malls.

Bobbyunitedfc:
Hi guys
Has anyone of u been in air Rwanda flight recently?

Which hospital did u get your covid test done or u did at a designated one by the airline??
TravelRe: QATAR AND UAE GENERAL VISA ENQUIRIES Part 3 by Ggee(m): 9:35pm On Jan 15, 2021
Very good advice.
Also if you have visit visa, approach your bank for PTA. You are entitled to buy $4,000 per quarter at normal exchange rate which is cheaper than the Aboki rate.

ebecode:
Lemme give u a sound advice regarding that..First go to a trusted Aboki and exchange your naira to dollars. When you get to Dubai Airport exchange your dollars to AED at 1dollar to 3.63AED . The reason is because Dirham is scarce and expensive in Naija but Dollar is common thereby making the few that has it to be rigid as per selling to u at favourable rate.

See comments to your questions.
1. You can do the test at BMH. But note it must be done latest 72 hours (3 days) before you travel. So your best bet is to do it in Lagos. Mostly comes out within 24 hours.
Yes you need to hold the paper copy with you. Will bec checked before boarding.

2. Yes, another will be done on your arrival. You don't pay for this though. You get the result less than 24 hours too.

My little advice, be careful of covid at Dubai.
Note you have to do another covid test 72 hours before you depart back to Nigeria.

gwobo:
Please house, I really need clarification on COVID test for Dubai travel
I am in Port Harcourt and have a travel date of 16th January.
1. How can I get the test done? Will I be required to upload it or just present the papers at point of departure.
2. Will another test be required in Dubai upon arrival?

Any idea on how to get the test done in Port Harcourt by Monday will be appreciated.
Can the test be done on the 14th in Lagos and result available before travel?.

Yes, you can use your phone for WhatsApp.
You can call, send and receive messages but it cost so much so you need to watch the spend.

Yes you can use your ATM card but note you have maximum of $100 you can spend per month. Best is if you have a dollar account (domiciliary) card.
Only your hand luggage wi be searched by hand. Your checked in bags will go through checks too electronically.

Dubai is liberal so you can go with virtually any cloth you like, but be moderate.

Awesomefoodie:
Pls ooo my people, can I use my ATM card in Dubai? And do immigrations ask to see what is in ones Bag? And pls what type of clothes must I not go with as a woman?

Note: I am going there legitimately to hustle.

Hello, why will your friend bride them in Nigeria. He is not doing anything wrong and should not bribe anyone please.

Also, no one checks what you have when you travel abroad. This can only happen if there is doubt about your visit and the immigration officer need to be sure you can take care of yourself. Though I have never see this happen in UAE before.

fkj950ax:
LOL
It's USGovt. They wont abracadabra your visas.
We will wait till next week
Let me try and summarize as much as I can remember:
6.45am appointment got there around 6.15am thinking that were too early; behold it was a crowd. Some with later appointments already there so early - I wonder why?

Got in and was sent back from entrance to the main consulate - wife had on a smart watch, had to leave that with a friendly police lady outside.
We had to go-round again but had to skip most of the other lines/activities.

Okay, in the main hall: went through someone that verified our papers. then to finger printing queue and straight to the line for interview - no sitting throughout - you are on your feet from beginning to when you exit.

Interview:
VO: Good morning, your passports
Me: Good morning, passing the passports to him.
VO: Looked at screen for a while. Turned back and said good morning to us again.
Why are you going to the US.
Me: Vacation
VO: Where will you be visiting?
Me: Mentioned the state
VO: Asked for exact location. (Told him guess he did not get the pronunciation with my Nigerian accent - so I spelled it and he now pronounced it the right way - we both laughed.
VO: Are you visiting someone
Me: Yes, a friend
VO: How long are you staying
Me: Two weeks
VO: What do you do?
Me: I work as Bleep with yyy company
VO: To wife, what do you do?
DW: I own a shop.
VO: What do you sell
DW: Provisions
VO: Turned to my daughter: Call the name and said you are a student, what level?
Daughter: She answered.
VO: Looked again at computer as said, you have being to US before
Me: Yes. Alone on official duty.
VO: Where have you traveled to before as a family?
Me: Canada, Netherlands, UK
VO: Will you be seeking medical attention in the US?
Me: No
VO: I am approving your visa but you have to pay .... do you have the money here?
Me: Yes.
VO: Gave me paper and directions on how to pay.

Note: An old man that needed interpreter was issued visa before us. I cannot be sure of any again while in the hall.
I went there believing that we will be issued the visa but seeing the level of denials, I started thinking again.
A man was before us with his wife and baby, I saw the man gesticulating about his work and the woman level 9 in the government agency (I think with travel to SA too), I was expecting them to get it but were denied.

Was there this morning. Paying that extra money for 3 of us is not a joke o.

Many denials. Nigerians need to give the US a break and stop donating hard earned money.

ayenikunle:
I think the Nigerian government should do something about this reciprocity fee.

The fee is collected from Nigerians all over the world as long as you carry our passport for US VISA interview.

Why can't they even give Americans VISAs free of charge?

I just don't understand! huh

The following is from the internet:

How To Appeal A Rejected Schengen Visa At The German Embassy
There’s only one way to appeal a rejected German Schengen Visa and that is by writing an appeal letter addressed to the German embassy.

Here are 4 things you need to know before writing your appeal letter:

1. The appeal can only filed by you, a legal representative (a lawyer for example) or a person authorized by you in writing (a family member for example). I think it’s best to lodge the appeal personally without the help of others to show the embassy that you are serious about your visa application. It is quite easy to do it. I will show you how below.

Should you choose to ask the help of a lawyer or another person for help to lodge it for you then you will need to write and include a signed Letter of Authorization which they need to be able to submit your appeal. You don’t need a travel agency to help you with your appeal but they can help you write an appeal letter or organize your supporting documents for the appeal.

2. You can only appeal within one month of getting the Schengen visa rejection. There’s a different timeline for other kinds of German visa. This one-month deadline ONLY applies to tourist or Schengen visa. I suggest you apply as soon as possible specially if you’re traveling soon.

3. It is FREE to appeal. There are no fees involved in submitting a Schengen visa remonstration at the German embassy in Manila.

4. You can write your appeal letter in English or German. Unless you’re very fluent in German (which I highly doubt), then write in English. There are a few guidelines for writing the appeal letter. You can check them here for the most updated info.

How To Submit An Appeal For Schengen Visa Refusal
You can submit your appeal by courier service, post, fax, email or personally at the embassy. I suggest submitting it via email because it’s faster and much easier. You can do it without leaving your house. And who owns a fax these days?!?

Submit by email:
Email the German embassy at visa@mani.diplo.de with the subject line: Remonstration for Full Name. We used a more urgent one for my sister since she was flying in less than 2 weeks. Her subject line was URGENT: Remonstration for Full Name – Flight: June 25, 2016. We used this so they know that this was a rush appeal. And it worked! They called her in less than 48 hours to approve her visa.

Remember that they need an appeal letter signed by hand. So you MUST print your appeal letter, sign it and either take a picture or scan it. We took a picture. And created a PDF of each supporting document. So here’s how you can email:

Email to: visa@mani.diplo.de
Subject: Remonstration for Full Name or URGENT: Remonstration for Full Name – Flight: Departure date

In the email she wrote:

Good day! I am writing to remonstrate against the rejection of my visa. Please see in the attachments my signed appeal letter and supporting documents. Hoping for your quick response as I am planning to join my parents on a family trip to visit my brother on June 25, 2016.

Thank you for your consideration.

Regards,
Full Name
Mobile Number

If you want to appeal personally by going to the embassy, by fax or by courier here are the details:

Submit by courier service or by post:
Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany
Visa section
25/F Tower 2, RCBC Plaza,
6819 Ayala Avenue,
Makati City 1200

Submit in person:
Go the German embassy from Monday to Thursday between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. No appointment required.

Submit by fax (really?! LOL):
Fax to (632) 7023015 or 702 3045

ibukunpops:
Any info on how appeal works?

Please share.

Thank you
TravelRe: General German Business And Tourist Visas ONLY by Ggee(m): 10:38am On Jul 24, 2019
Good that they are using Nigerians but the benefit of that is neither here nor there.

I rather talk to someone that will take instant decision on my case. That I need to assure of my intention if need be than submit to someone who makes recommendation to another to take a decision.

Note that you have to book appointment like 3 months ahead. Go for a so called interview and has to wait for another 2 weeks to get the decision.

If you are using Nigerians, train them and empower them to take necessary decision on the application.

SamReinvented:
It is more than just a submission. Those interviewers type their observations and make recommendations to the visa offfice. After verification of your documents, and no issues are found, these recommendations would most likely be the final decision you'd get.

So dont downplay the interviews. Get your appearance and confidence right, and be coherent in your answers, so they wont have reasons to note negative things down for you.

I actually like that German uses real Nigerians for Interviews, nobody can judge the intention of Nigerians better than Nigerians. We know our body language better than anyone else, even when masked.
TravelRe: General German Business And Tourist Visas ONLY by Ggee(m): 7:33am On Jul 24, 2019
The supposed visa officers are there to just collect the visa fee and your documents.
I am not sure they can take any decision on whether to issue a visa or not.
I wonder why not outsource the document collection to a company like VFS instead of subjecting people to come to their embassy.

ibukunpops:
Hello Everyone, feedback time

Interview was 9th Jul for 7.30am, we arrived 6.45am (my cousin and I) and was allowed to go in almost immediately (around 7am)

Seat provided for the entire duration, both outside and inside till it was our turn.

A Nigerian lady interviewed us and she collected all documents we went with, both originals and photocopies

Questions:
where are you going to
for how long
why?
what do you do
how many staffs do you have, name their positions
how much do you make as income in a month
have you made any touirist plans
what is the name of the hotel you will be staying with
will you return after the visit (directed at my cousin)
why will you return

DHL picked up our envelope on Friday 19th Jul (on the 9th day)
Passport received back Monday 22nd Jul

My visa was issued but my cousin denied on the ground of not sure she will return before visa expires

My observation:
Please treat like you are going for submission, they are now glorified VFS biko, took family albums to show relationship tie with my cousin but she asked if it will fit into the return envelope (which obviously couldnt) I mentioned she should please look at them to confirm our relationship but she wasnt interested (because looking wouldnt count anyway) the mistake i made was not having the pictures on an A4 paper which would have been submitted alongside our other documents, my last application with my husband was so different, the lady then didnt take all the documents we went with, just collected the basics and looked at the photobook we took along.

After your interview, go to DHL online and schedule shipment notification, that was how I knew when they picked up the shipment and followed through till it was eventually delivered.

I intend to appeal for my cousin anyway, is it better to send email or send in the hard copy remonstration?

Thank you

Wanted to know my monthly salary, countries of my previous Schengen visas.
Took finger prints.

Was at the embassy around 7.15am for my 7.30 appointment. Met a long queue mostly students so I was allowed in quickly.

I Ieft the embassy around 8.10am. Met a Nigerian lady and she checked the docs. Returned some of copies back such as 2nd application form and the copy of my bank statement

Just ensure you have copies of all the documents well arranged - original follow by its copy.

Goodluck.

If you have 7:30 interview, prepare to be done around 9am - 9:30 ish. The interview itself lasts about 10 to 30 minutes (depending on your case).... but the other processes and waiting time would take most of the period.
Thanks, this will help me to plan my movement properly.
