Politics / Opuala Charles Pledges To Attract Strategic Employment Opportunities To Bayelsa by ghbjlkji(m): 9:57am On Dec 06, 2018
•As he dumps APC for Accord party

A senatorial candidate for Bayelsa East senatorial district of Bayelsa State, Silva Opuala Charles have pledged to attract strategic employment opportunities to the senatorial district, if elected.

Opuala made this known recently in an open letter signed and issued by him on Wednesday. In his letter, he noted that the senatorial district has no tangible federal presence in terms of functional industries that is capable of providing for the able bodied young men and women of the area.

Opuala who recently dumped the APC for Accord party, explained in his letter that his reason for leaving the party is based on the party's style of choosing who represents them, which is not really suitable, and the steady call from the people of the senatorial district for him to represent them at the red chamber.

“Some people will wonder why this eleventh hour decision after the earlier announcement of maintaining the status quo. This new stance is borne out of a further review of the contextual and conceptual flaws in the decision that was taken and the pressure from constituents and beyond till this moment”

“Moreover, we must respect the rights of the electorate to decide who should represent them and not the privileged class. This is the crux of our mindless underdevelopment and the despondency. Hence, I have to make this people - oriented choice for the good of our people.

As Hillary Rodham Clinton puts it”

The accord party candidate however revealed his plans at the National level if elected as senator, stating that his vision resolves around propagating legislation on a new revenue model.

“For contributions at the National Level, the vision resolves around propagating legislation on a new revenue model for optimizing the country's publics without tolerating lags on disposable disposable incomes of citizens and bottom lines of corporations” Opuala stated.

Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards/International Youth day Concert 2018 (2nd edition )

The Second Edition of Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards has been scheduled to hold at DSP Alamieyeiseigha Memorial Banquet hall by 4pm on the 12th of August 2018 which is International Youth day.

Bayelsa Youth Leadership Award is an initiative aimed at encouraging and rewarding excellent performances of youths in all spheres of life from politics, leadership skills, entertainment, sports, agriculture, to mention a few. Strange but true is the fact that diligent and trustworthy youths are hard to find as those who have impacted one way or another and has served in one public office or the other have not been recognised for their good deeds. Also, several individuals, Non Governmental Organizations, Corporate Institutions etc have been instrumental to youth development in Bayelsa state and has gone unrecognised for years.
Therefore, it is in this light that BYLA is providing the opportunity to recognise and reward outstanding youths in Bayelsa state as well as individuals and institutions that has played a vital role in youth development

Being Dickson or Sylva's Loyalist is Inconsequential ~ Comr . Atti Moses

Special assistant to the Governor of Bayelsa State on student affairs Comr. Atti Joshua Moses has encouraged the youths of Bayelsa State to join hands in building the state in every aspect, not minding their political differences.

The youth leader tasked the youths of the state to love and support one another with the aim of creating a better Bayelsa, irrespective of their political parties and Godfathers.

“I feel like crying my soul out when I see People play Politics of bitterness, envy, lies, Greed etc just to Please their Political Leaders or score cheap political growth , which has really overturned the ideal of Contemporary Politics .

“Growing up in Bayelsa State to Witness 4 successive Administrations was the best Political Experience i have ever had. Because i was opportune to witness different method of Administrative Programs and Policies.

“If we must grow fast as a State we must jettison every political stupidity and work collectively to build the Bayelsa State of our dream because PDP and APC will come and go but Bayelsa will remain and we will all live to reap the evil or good we have planted in our soil.

“Our Political Elites should make deliberate efforts to unite the Youths of Bayelsa State because if they must live a Legacy it must exist in the body of the Youths , Political affiliations and Interest shouldn't prompt you to encourage your Faithfuls or Loyalist to Disrespect your Contemporary or another Leader and also carrying out violent attacks on perceived oppositions.

“I am making this deliberate effort to raise these issues because of Perceived Large Scale violence in the forthcoming Elections in the State and the Sooner we get rid of act of Petty Politics the better for us.

“Lets Play Ideological Politics to defend the Ethics and Manifestoes of our Individual Parties not to defend the Taste of Political Key Players flying like angels from one Party to the Other in a bit to feed their Political Egos and Interest .

“We must be extremely conscious as Youths to build the Bayelsa State of Our dream and if you are a Loyalist to HE Seriake Dickson or HE Timipere Sylva its inconsequential what is import is the growth of our dear State, our Political Leaders should use their powers to attract development and investors to our State and our Youths should use their Portfolios , Appointments, engagement etc to contribute their quota to the building process of Bayelsa State. Because i believe that we will surely get there" Comr. Moses said.

Politics / Don't Misappropriate Lga Funds, Rivers Lawmaker Charges New Council Boss by ghbjlkji(m): 7:39pm On Jul 04, 2018
Don't Misappropriate Lga Funds, Rivers Lawmaker Charges New Council Boss

The member representing Asari-Toru Constituency 1 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Tekenari Wellington Granville, has charged the new executive chairman of Asari-Toru LGA, Chief (Hon.) Odiari Christopher Princewill, to deliver the dividends of democracy to Asari-Toru people, and resist every prompting to misappropriate funds all through his reign.
Speaking at a town hall meeting and interactive session held today in Buguma, the lawmaker congratulated the LGA chairman and his team on their victory at the polls and successful assumption of office.
While thanking the chairman for showing commitment to work for the general good and development of Asari Toru LGA, Hon. Wellington advised the new Council chairman not to tow the path of the former elected LGA chairman, Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.
According to the state legislator, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree's administration was characterized with under-performance, massive misappropriation of public funds, nepotism and executive rascality.
The lawmaker in his speech pleaded with Chief Odiari Princewill and his team of administrators not to engage in conducts that will bring shame to Asari Toru people like the days of Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree.
Citing the Book of Genesis 1:1-3, he described the brand new Chief Odiari Princewill led administration as a "Let There Be Light" proclamation. He urged the remaining few in APC to join the Governor Wike's winning train and implored them to wholeheartedly embrace the light that has come to loose them from the bondage brought upon them by Ojukaye Flag-Amachree's APC.
Hon. Tekenari Wellington said: "Mr. Chairman, the people of Asari-Toru LGA have reposed great trust and confidence in you by giving you their mandate. Please don't let them down. Develop Asari-Toru LGA and her people and posterity will never forget you.
"Don't be like the former elected LGA chairman, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, who all through his time was in one financial misappropriation scandal or the other. In his time, ASALGA Council accounts with First Bank and UBA were frozen because of legal battles with council staff and stakeholders.
"We are also aware of how Ojukaye Flag-Amachree was suspended by the then governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, on grounds of misconduct and financial recklessness.
"Please Mr. Chairman, don't use Council funds to enrich yourself and family members like Ojukaye Flag-Amachree. Facts available has it that Ojukaye Flag-Amachree awarded contracts and overseas scholarships to only family members.
"It is already public knowledge that on monthly basis, Ojukaye was using ASALGA money to fund the personal project of Amaechi's wife, for reasons best known to him. Mr. Chairman, in your tenure, let Asalga money be for Asalga people. Our money should develop our people and our land.
"At times, when I hear someone talk carelessly because he occupies a legally yet-to-be determined chairmanship position, I feel ashamed and feel great pity for him.
"Somebody like Ojukaye Flag-Amachree should not be the one talking about agricultural development. Why is he suddenly making a case for Buguma Fish Farm? A farm he allowed to die under his watch, after the huge finance siphoned and looted through the farm project?
"May I remind us that the same new day advocate of agricultural development was a key player in the looting of the 3 Billion Naira Central Bank of Nigeria agricultural loan to Rivers State. Testimonies from a director in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Grant Amadi, at the Rivers State Judicial Panel of Inquiry confirms that amongst other financial benefits, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree received 54.85 million from the loan and did no agric project with it.
"Please Mr. Chairman, lead us well and put smiles on our faces. The Lord is your strength."
Politics / Nigeria Needs Formation Of State Police To Tackle Insecurity, Says Comr. Moses by ghbjlkji(m): 12:02pm On Jul 02, 2018
Nigeria needs formation of state police to tackle insecurity, says Comr. Moses

Special Assistant to the Governor of Bayelsa State on student affairs, Comr. Atti Joshua Moses who is an Award Winning renowned Youth Activist has raised an opinion for the disbandment of the Nigerian police force, and the formation of state police to tackle insecurity in Nigeria.

Comr moses who also stated that the security apparatus in Nigeria has undoubtedly failed, said “From the bottom part of my heart and my utmost desire for improvement of our Economic and Social development. Some major Challenges that we are Facing as a Nation is too Petty and ridiculous.

“Most times things that are supposed to be our Comparative advantage is what is killing us on daily Basis, We have a good population to protect ourselves from External Aggression and Enough Fertile Soils to feed ourselves.

“Our Security Apparatus has failed undoubtedly and its empirically verifiable. I am of the Opinion that we maintain a one Military System (Army, Navy, Airforce) and make every other Paramilitary organisation to be State funded so that their will be no lapses and this will further create Jobs for indigent Youths because most time recruitment into the Nigerian Police and other forces is not evenly distributed amongst the federating States .

“Let everyman secure his land” disband the Nigerian Police Then we will know if a Community Police officer will collect bribe from his kinsman before doing his Job or Community Based Paramilitary Organizations(Police, Immigration,NSCDC, Road Safty Corps , Customs , NDLEA etc) will allow invaders ,herdsmen, Militants, Boko haram, Smugglers, Aliens , Contraband goods etc. into Communities to kill all their families.

“Then in Extreme Cases were A Superior Security is needed we can send our Military , as far as I'm concerned our Military is been Abused which is prompting it to malfunction many times and we have not gotten any thing right when it comes to security.
