Zino89: Please is cerelac OK for a 5 months old? Should be ok, buy the one for six months or supported sitter if they group them that way. Start with a little at a time to see how she takes it. What has she been eating before now |

kelizosuy: Our breastfeeding is majorly during the day because she sleeps all through most nights and wake up just once for the rest nights. It's just the day that we breastfeed. Let me see if I can push it a lil more though Yeah push it if you can, my baby had low pvc for the first time ever some weeks after weaning, now we buy milk like crazy and sometimes I miss the good old breastfeeding days where no matter what else you feed them breastmilk is there to back it up. |

Naomi14: Maybelline foundation? I haven't used it. I have used just the mascara and its lovely. You don't want to use Mac studio anymore? Mac wetin, maybe I'd use Giddybaby's creche fees to buy that one then back her to work with my face on fleek . Stop finding my trouble |

kelizosuy: Few days to eight months Fair enough. Cold turkey was the only method that made sense to me so that's what I did. She suffered, I suffered and in 4days to a week we were good . I had already long eliminated day time breastfeeding cuz of creche so we only had nights to surmount. Since you're alone and with her all day I'd suggest you schedule it for next time you're travelling or having someone over; so you leave her with the person most of the time and not have to bear most of the whining for the four days. Btw to avoid getting crazy engorged, if you're still very actively breastfeeding you might want to start by reducing the number of feeds per day first so that your supply reduces before you go cold turkey. |

booqee: Please my baby's fingernails are too sharp whether the nails are trimmed or not ( to the extent that she scratches her face and injures herself. I wear hand gloves, but at night when sleeping, she manages to take them off.
Is it OK if I use my nail file or what can I use? Seeing this marks on her face is paining me. Happens when i 'trim' my baby's nails too so I don't even bother. Hubby is in charge of nailcutting, and he cuts off everything so she can't scratch anything until it grows again. He even cuts mine too cuz fear would not let me cut all of mine talk more baby. Nail file sounds like a good idea, but buy a soft one o dedicated only to baby. |

Anugod: I got tired of making puffs every day, so we decided to start experimenting. You can plait that two hand style (matting or wetin dem dey call am?). We plait all kinds of styles now, we just loosed shade, last week we made two steps, maybe we'd make chuku next. I simply distract her with lots of play things and cartoons, and hopefully we have a drama free time. It's worth it for me cos the one we just loosed was made on Sunday. We loosed today, made puffs for tomorrow before washing for the weekend. She hardly even notices when she's busy playing, so I don't think it hurts her much. I hold it lightly tho.
As for the puree, you can cut up the apples into bits and boil then blend with little water. You can make carrot puree same way. No need to boil the banana, just mash, maybe add little water to lighten it. But don't do banana puree too often o, cos it could cause constipation. We did exclusive too, but my baby eats any and everything, except okro. She looovves semo and egusi. But we do mostly baby foods for now cos seems her system is not very ready to process much adult food. We fight over cerelac most times but she takes formular pretty well. What do you apply on her hair, she's too cute |

kazchick: Please my son has had cough and catarrh for the past one week which I suspect he got from daycare. So far, I have been giving him milk, and fruit puree. Pls is there any thing he can take to stop the cough and catarrh before the cough gets out of hand. He is almost 5 months old. What brand of Vit C can he take? He currently takes Vitane to boost his iron. Cough accompanied with catarrh is always horrible on my baby so we always end up at the hospital no matter how much we don't want to go, but one home remedy I've tried that made things better was the ginger garlic blended together, then you add hot water and give him a spoon of the water when its cooled, started that when my baby turned one, not sure a five month old can handle it. "Hunniesuzzie. I have a preference for emzor vitc drops with the dropper head cuz its easier to administer anytime you remember during the day cuz you don't need a spoon or syringe, don't know about effectiveness of brands, just get a known brand. If it lingers, you've to take him to the hosp and run tests cuz it might be an infection. |

queensnow: U can get soybeans powder in stores like shoprite, some supermarket sells too then u make ur crayfish and gnut powder separately How to prep (how I sabi am) Soy beans Yellow or white corn (optional) Millet (optionla) Guinea corn (optional)
Additional G.nut (optional) Crayfish (optional) Plantain dried (optional) Sweet potatoes dried (optional)
U can only choose soybeans + one grain i.e soybeans+corn or soybeans+millet whichever one u want. Gently select ur grains to pick dirt and stones, then fry the grains (soybeans+yellowcorn)one at a time slightly, fry crayfish, fry ur g.nut (without oil) Put the soybeans in a separate pack this will enable the miller to help u separate the shaft b4 grinding it with the fried corn.
Note: some babies react to seafoods and groundnut so if u will be using crayfish and gnut u might want to blend it separately but if u want to use dried potatoes and plantain u can blend it with the grains. I only gave my son soybeans powder as he refused crayfish and groundnut, I end up using it to make groundnut soup thats th advantage of grinding it separately How to make Tom Brown |

Meeeeey: Good evening dear mamas
My 5weeks + DS coughs once a day( dry cough). He coughs like three times at once and that's all.
I met a paed today, she recommended antibiotics but the way she prescribed it was like to dismiss me.
Do u think the cough is something to worry about?
Thank you Lol most doctors are usually dismissive until baby starts showing serious symptoms. Since she believed you enough to prescribe antibiotics, she wasn't so dismissive cuz that's what they prescribe for serious cough. The ones I know would have given you just Vitamin C and Multivite and any other just-so-you-don't-leave-empty-handed kinda drugs. With what I know now I sha won't go to hospital for a once-a-day cough, I'd give Vitc and watch, and go only if it seems to be getting more frequent. |
