My princess has been coughing since we came back from the hospital last month. The thing is she coughs basically at the middle of the night till morning but doesn't cough during the day. I gave her cefuroxime last week and it's still persisting. I dunno if I should give take her back there or just leave it since it's just night.
Please any Home remedy for cough?

I think this is cuz the weather gets really cold at night these days. Now we sleep with all the windows closed and I still cover Giddybaby with wrapper. Try to keep her warm at night if you ain't doing that already and give Vit C too.

Pls don't say my question is irrelevant, I assume some mamas have had the issue before.

I know that it's written on baby's formula that the content should be discarded after 4 weeks of opening but I'm really wondering if the content can be used by someone else not necessarily baby especially in a situation where it's still practically full after 4 weeks.

For example, if I drink/lick it, would it affect baby or what if an older child makes use of it? Is it that the formula gets spoilt or it's just no longer at premium quality for a baby?

My ijebu side is asking so I can determine what size of formula to buy. I give my lo formula once or twice in a day so I'm concerned about what if it remains or I should increase his intake to avoid waste.?

After 4 weeks it still pretty much tastes the same so I only stop it for baby and I and my hubby's nieces would take over.

Since she has old people's tastebuds, She'd probably accept August secrets cereals, with crayfish. Try that if you havent already

Hurray!!! We started from the bottom now we are here .
Yes, we saw 1st trimester and ms dealt with us like it wasn't going to pass.
Some of us had to swallow chilled Eba, had special bowl for spitting, brushing our teeth was a vomiting session but look at us now , we've been there and done them all. Great is our God.

Congratulations on coming this far teamies, it hasn't been easy but definitely worth it.

We all are now safely in the 2nd trimester, may the rest of the journey be easy for us all. Amen
Our routine drugs are a vital part of this journey, please let's not forget that.
Stay faithful to it, its actually our partner on this journey.
I guess some of us must have had our 1st TT shot. For the rest of us who hasn't, our hospitals will let is know when It's time i guess.

My tummy is starting to show. I wanted to at least pass 26 weeks before it started showing. How many weeks are we sef. I've forgotten my lmp again. What's yours so that I'd remember mine . Most times sef I forget I'm pregnant.

Dear Mamas,

How long does it take for the navel to close completely after the umbilical cord falls off because my grandma said the hole should have closed by now.

Also, yesterday I noticed my baby was very fussy and uncomfortable. I reasoned that it could be because he tried to stool but only a tiny speck of stool stained his pampers. So I asked my grandma to help me use the peppersoup spice and coconut oil to help him pass out the stool which he did. Later in the evening before his bathe, I saw he had passed out the same stain of stool and I asked her to repeat it seeing that he was uncomfortable. She did again and he passed out stool. Till now, he still has not passed out stool even though he has stained his pampers twice with the stain of stool.

He has been stooling with ease. I don't know what could be the problem. I know sometimes most babies don't stool for a while. The problem is he actually wants to stool and makes the grunting noise when he tries but nothing comes out.

Please help me out.

You don't have to give him peppersoup anytime he wants to poop. As long as the poop is not strong, let him strain, he's just learning and getting used to it, and would still poop without your help if you let him.

As for navel, I can't remember how long before it actually closed up but if your baby is older than a month then maybe you should see a doctor

Reason is their immunity gets low during that period hence the infections.

I was equally bothered at a time cos I expected that if their immune system is well boosted by eating well balanced meals with fruits, they shouldn't have infections.

I've been loading my baby with pap and cereal since I got pregnant so maybe true. I try with fruits too but the meals I give her these days are so lazy...

Ds was running temperature all tru Saturday and wasn't eating as much as he usually does, gave pcm and his temp came down
Same thing happened on Sunday
Everyone said it's teething but I insisted on going to the hosp
Went to the hosp on monday tests were carried out and the doctor said it was infection
Was given antibiotics, pcm and multivitamin
He's better now and appetite is coming back gradually

Moral lesson: Always insist on proper diagnosis before treatment, don't just assume it's the obvious cause you may be right or wrong, you don't want to take chances
Teething may also have contributed but I'm glad we went to the hosp

True, most times when everyone says it's teething it ends up being teething. Like every time Giddybaby falls sick these days it always ends up being followed by teeth, but doesn't change the fact that the teething usually comes along with infection that might need to be treated.
