President Buhari has raised an alarm of coronavirus affecting the revenue of the country.

The Nigerian leader disclosed this while receiving workers in the health sector under the aegis of Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly Healthcare Professionals Associations yesterday, March 10.

Buhari who urged the health workers to moderate their demands on government as it could affect the economy, stated that his administration is looking for different ways to address the challenges the outbreak of the virus poses to the Nigerian economy.

The Katsina State Government has suspended the principal of Government Girls Arabic Senior Secondary School, Fago, Fatima Yakubu, over her ''negligence'' which led to the death of a SS2 student, late Fatima Maikano.

Also dismissed and banned for life from premises of all its schools was the mathematics teacher, Abubakar Suleiman, who was privately engaged by the principal to teach in the school.

Recall that the late Fatima died when she alongside her classmates were flogged by the Maths teacher over their inability to submit an assignment earlier given to them. Read previous report here

After Fatima fell sick, she was neither provided with medical assistance at the school’s dispensary nor moved to a nearby hospital.

As the coronavirus assumes pandemic proportion globally, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that banknotes could aid the transmission of the infectious disease.

The United Nations body, therefore, counselled people to rather go cashless when making purchases.

In the event where they handle money, people should make it a regular habit to wash their hands immediately, the global health body added.

The WHO warned that coronavirus could be on the surface of banknotes for several days, hence the need for people to refrain from using money for transactions as much as possible.

WHO spokesman was quoted as saying that: “To stop the spread of the disease, people should use contactless payments where possible and wash their hands after handling cash.

Davido’s latest video “1Milli” had the internet talking yesterday after its release. The video which features his bride to be, Chioma in what looked like a traditional wedding ceremony was shot on the streets of Lagos and Nigerian fans have expressed their love for the video.
