Sports / 10 Footballers And Managers Who Have Been To The University. by Gideonaigbe(m): 9:14pm On Jan 20, 2019
Top 10 Footballers (and Managers) Who Have Been To University
It's fair to say that footballers aren't usually regarded as the sharpest tools in the box. In their defence, when you're blessed with natural athleticism and two extraordinarily well coordinated feet, and get paid millions of pounds to play the game you love, it's easy to see how school can become less of a priority. Nonetheless, there are some footballers (and managers) who have found time to combine sporting success with academic excellence. Here's our list of the Top 10 footballers and managers who either have degrees or are currently studying for one:

10. Duncan Watmore{England}(first-class in Economics from Newcastle University

9. Glen Johnson{England}(Mathematics-open university)

8. Simon mignolet{Belgium}, (Political science-KU Leuven)

7. Edwin Van der sar{Holland}
Sports and brand management-johan Cruyff institute.

6. Vincent Kompany{Belgium}
MBA-Manchester Business school

5. Slaven Billic (Croatia)
Law

4. Manuel pellegrinni(Chile)
Civil Engineering

3. Dennis Bergkamp
Mechanical Engineering-University of Bath

2. Juan Marketing and sport science

1. Arsene Wenger
Masters in Economics.

I applies for the UK Tier 5 religious worker visa and my application was denied by the entry officer whow claims that the salary I was offered does not meet up with the UK minimum wage regulation system...but it was part of the immif ration law that ant body that works with a charity body, religious organization or community is to be exempted from the UK minimum wage.I have documents that states that my enployer is a charity organization they even wrote a letter along with my employment letter clearly statung all this ...I see no reason my application should be unfairly treated. ..meanwhile the application of my colleagues that we were both offered the same job, we're given the same document and we're to resume the same day was approved and grant entry. Please I'm so confused I don't know what to do
My opinion is
you dint include home tie
If you apply again referencing to the law you stated above... u might be granted

OP, this guy said it all. I have been there before. I left them for each other. Later they came separately to beg cause they realized life was useless without me, or rather I was their fuel to fire their silly "friendship".

Life is short. Anyone that makes you feel bad or less than your self, just leave them alone and move on to better things. There are so many other nice Nigerian girls out there. Don't die on top someone that doesn't value you or realize what she is doing is hurting you.

As for the guy, I know their type. Just ignore him totally. The fellow is vane and empty. You don't need such energy around you.
I totally agree with this....

Dear All,

I have a two-year visa which will expire 2020. I already bought my travel ticket for 26th December and just realised my passport will be expiring February 2019.... I will be back in Nigeria by mid January. I just want to check if this is going to be a problem at Heathrow. I can't get a new passport between now and Wednesday
you can get a passport the same day....if you have the money

okay thankx Bro. really appreciate all ur correspondence.✌

Okay one more question. The small documents which you had to photocopy to an A4 paper size, did u make the photocopy in coloured and the picx too
all my documents where in a4 size including my pictures..... I photocopied all documents to ease their work but went with the originals so they see it ,all were black and white except the pictures.
I even went as far as getting police report, recommendation letter from d king in my village, also from my school.

seems like only school served as your home tie and did u show ur school fees receipts, letter from school stating leave of absence etc? it was more of school stuff as well right?
Not only school....I took part in an hackathon(risk assesment management for west africa)and my team emerged as one of the winning team where offered 2500 dollars to complete our task and we swore an oath to complete it by next year which I included the pic.
I also added all my receipts from 100lvl till date....course forms from 100lvl till date...etc
like I said what work for me might not work for someone else...in all study the checklist well, impress your clearance officer but don't over do it,and above all be truthful.....don't joke with those guys...they might even go as far as monitoring the number and email u used to apply....
My other uncle was denied visa last year not because he wasn't fit but the clearance officer detected where he took a loan 4 days after applying for the visa..funny enough he applied for the loan weeks before he even applied for the visa only for the loan to be granted later on.

Lmaooo, thumb print I guess
I sure did my finger print....
it was after the finger print,OK this exactly how it happened.
the screen showed my number and where I was to go or biometric
I looked rough, looking for the interview room,
got there keeping a smiling face,
greeted the lady ,then she kept this serious face,
then she like don't sit stand,
then she like look up at the camera and introduce yourself, them I looked up and like hello there (waving the camera),am Gideon...then she like your full name, which I told,I said my age ,then she like your full date of birth...am like aunty u guys want to kill me here with a smiling face, she just strong face ,I continued then I said my address, then she like uncle you can sit...
sorry for all the stress...
she then told me something amazing....
she said I have been here since few minutes before eight then why am I just doing my biometrics.... I was stunned and asked how do u know?.....she said we see almost all things round the premises, then I explained how I almost cancelled to get a refund... she boldly told me I would have done it to reduce their work.....then she told me to sit upright for my visa photo....then am like my hair is rough ,I had to go out like twice to adjust my self....did my finger print, snapped my passport PIC.... then as I was about leaving she told me to press d green button close to the entrance....Now there were 3 buttons at the entrance..... green, red, couldn't see d last one,
d green button had Good ,the red had average but I cldnt see d last one cos I was a bit rushing to leave the room.

Congratulations.

I noticed you didn’t include your bank statement, which is really what affected our visa, even though submitted the sponsors details.

@justwise do you think if we reapply and exclude the personal statement, will this affect us?
like I said every applications has different formulae and checklist...
am not applying to go school in Great Britain....
mine is family visitor visa not student visa, and I boldly indicated in my cover letter that my sponsor will be fully funding my trip.
when filling the form online also, when asked if I have any saving or income I indicated no,I have no savings...mine not work for u...I was very truthful about every thing
If your application is straight forward ,depending on the crowd,u should get your visa between 5working days even without priority

I stay with my uncle that works with the Japanese Embassy so he wrote it and added his numbers, office email .

..after wards I was told to press the green button while coming out.

wow! goodnews bro. God is surely great!. just before your travel date. congrats.
could u list the documents u submitted here? I plan to apply in March. thankx you had a virgin passport?
yes sir...virgin passport
I made sure all my documents were photocopied in A4 size including pictures
my house utility bills
family pictures whilst am away for the visit(make sure you guys don't look hungry so they don't think you trying to run because things are not well with I in Nigeria)
my I.D cards
my sponsors utility bills, house agreement, working permit papers, company's payslip, invitation letter ,consent letter,my cover letter that includes my trip cost....I budgeted my sponsor would be spending 10pounds per day through d 13 days visit, etc
they were quite much but I try to make sure I don't add uneccesary documents,
look good don't look hungry so they don't think u trying to run...also look decent.
in all, study your checklist well and try to provide at least 70% of your checklist requirement... checklists usually vary....also every formulae is different...dont compare what I summited with yours.
when u print out your checklist ,read your application over and over and act like u are the clearance officer and study the mind.... don't lie an expensive lie if at all you plan lieing

when are you submitting bro?
First of all @justwise u doing a great job,2ndly dis thread helped me through ,I actually did everything my self with d help of the information and exposure from this thread....
I applied on the 8th of DEC....
I got discouraged by some people at metro plaza that its too late as i planned on leaving on the 23rd of december except I use the priority service....
@just wise confirmed it isn't too late....I almost canceled it...i just continued reluctantly....
Only for me to get to my appointment and was told I would have to pay for prime time ,I went completely confused,I almost the subject of attraction at TLS abuja that day, in fact I was cancelling it when a man said just do it u can't tell ,and then I forged ahead and paid only for the lady there again told me its too late that I have to pay for late coming 200dollars or so,I din't pay,she just helped me to enter....got to the scanning office and then I missed a picture ,had to plead with d lady to help me that they in my phone....to my greatest surprise ,she helped me print it out from my phone....,got to my biometric and d lady there was hell....saying I look rough and she insist I go out and look good ,imagine after all the stress ,I humbly obeyed her....
after that day I became worried as I din't get any text or mail... until d 3rd day that my application has been received by ukvi.
yesterday I got another mail that my passport is ready for collection.... I felt well lemi just go and collect it and boooom...the visa was issued.....God is great.

Your agent is lying to you, you select appointment date during visa application process then buy added value package(super priority) separately after registering with TLScontract then go with the payment receipt for your appointment.
you shouldn't conclude like that...u don't know the cost of what this thing you just said can be,there might be some situations that causes that like a wrong browser.

She can’t list me as a dependent, because I’m a British citizen, even though I live in Nigeria - didn’t want to complicate things for her.

She’s not working for the sponsor, she was working with a different company (let’s call it Company A) as an intern when she got the Scholarship Grant award from (Company B) - she was offered a full time job by Company A, but they agreed she can start after the training - and the training was recommended by Company A.

She wasn’t applying for employee visa, she was applying for a short study visa, and the school she’s attending has the license to sponsor that. Company B is only the financial sponsor.

Are u sure all her documents including her cover letter were properly scanned...

one of my uncles that works with an embassy affirmed ;an embassy have the number of visas to be issued in a daily, weekly monthly basis except for special cases, that's why its always good to apply early, attend your appointment early dress decent, try to be bold but not too forward, ladies mind the way you apply makeup and lipstick(all this are points gotten from tls, they sometimes even go as far as accessing your registered phone number log,in case u don't know TLS adds somehow adds to your application cos if TLS don't score h good,u might have problem, at d entrance of each door where u do your biometric there are 3 buttons green, red and black), after then except you extremely convince the clearance officer ,your visa might be denied no matter what you present..... some people don't even go through the stress of getting too many documents yet they get visas. what I opine
