Trade Fair complex is under Federal Ministry of trade. Not under Lagos state government. The trade fair has been there for over Four decades. No complain from any quarter.

All of a sudden, there is discordant tunes about Igbo presence in the complex. And the reason is not far fetched: the landlord of Lagos was defeated in the epic presidential elections of 2023. To political pundits, Igbos must pay for "stubbornness and lack of loyalty" because they failed to support the man who claimed to be builder of modern Lagos.

The demolitions were carried in a bizarre manner. Over 50 armed trucks were deployed to the site. The traders were not allowed to vent their grievances. Some had genuine papers presented to them but were not willing to listen. Orders from above!

Your insinuations that similar demolitions took place in southeast cannot be compared to the invasion of Trade Fair complex which over N300Billion worth of goods and investments were destroyed.

The complex provide jobs for every citizen, be it Igbo or Yoruba. Many of the traders borrowed money to finance building the edifice.
