A lot of the things were modified back in 2020. They modified that aspect. Visitors on transitory residence AKA visit visa that give birth in Chile won't be able to acquire Chilean citizenship for their children.

https://serviciomigraciones.cl/en/residencia-temporal-permit/subcategories/pregnancy/

That's the visa you need to apply for to have a child now or your Child won't be Chilean.

https://globalcit.eu/the-implications-of-chiles-2021-immigration-law-for-citizenship-and-nationality/

It's heavily enforced now as there were issues with some Russians that even birth here and were crying when their kids weren't given Chilean nationality
Wow! Thank you so much. I was misinformed previously.

There's a lot of cloud computing jobs here but as for giving birth. That has k leg here. Your child can only qualify for citizenship after birth if the parent has residency already. Permanent or temporary. If you have just visiting visa and give birth here, nothing for you and the child. Also, studies here are completely in Spanish.
Hello there!
Please when did Chile change their citizenship policy? I thought that any child born on the soil gets automatic citizenship. Please drop off a link where this has been changed so that I can be well informed. Sorry if you had done that previously as I didn't see it.

Your mom can apply and has a chance based on her age, but where is the home tie here? She is a widow, not working, and being taken care of by her children. Your best approach is to include a letter from a church or any organization that she is committed to. Secondly, what do you mean by airline policy? I have seen single mothers travel for birth purposes to the USA and Canada, even to Mexico and Chile, with no issues.
Thank you so much for the response! I think we may be able to find a tie if we look deeply. Airline policy on how many babies one passenger can carry.. I'm having multiple babies and I and my husband can't carry them all back home on any airline.. If you know of any that doesn't require one adult per baby, please let me know. I appreciate you!

Hello Nairalanders!
So, I have a Canadian tourist visa gotten last year and I'm currently pregnant with the intent of going to give birth in Canada. I would need my mum to be there with me to help me as it's a multiple pregnancy but she doesn't have the visa.
We intend for my mum's best friend's daughter who is a PR to provide her with a letter of invitation and POF as her sponsor. Her best friend has been in Canada for a while now helping her daughter with the kids and we know the two besties will be happy to see each other.
My mum is a 66 years old widow who is being taken care of by her children.
Please, how do we ensure that she is not denied this visa as I can't cope by myself and definitely need help (airline policy) when returning with the babies.
