ANDERSON IS COMPETITION INDEED...He will be like CLEMENT. He has that cool personage.. Would like to see more of joy though...
Adortem:

Laughs out loud, actually Deinde(the bearded "SHEKHAU" guy) and Dipo were my favourites, cos those voices were different, their voice texture is just unique. However, when Anderson sang, I knew he was a strong competition, Anderson really fought his way in.
I am not happy with the decision of the judges to probe only 6, those 6 were still very strong, the 12 they gave free passes to, some of them are not as strong, just there... I guess luck didn't shine on those that didn't make it.

Gloglobal, so tell me, judgin frm this piece, is this ur idea of peace? Owing people's salary? For ova two years?

There is a phylosophy i personally live by: I DONT ALWAYS HAVE ALL THE FACT ABOUT A MATTER.
I was not the one being owed and i didnt work there, so i dont spread rumors i know nothing about..
i used to work in a place and my boss is still owing me till now..several month since i stopped.. its not an isolated case. it happens.. and most times it might not be the employers fault.. i run a small business now and i understand that fact.. so the point is... DONT GET INVOLVED WHEN YOU DONT HAVE ALL THE DEATILS

Politics / Funny Rules For Driving In Lagos by gioglobal(m): 10:02am On Aug 04, 2015
1.When in doubt, accelerate!
2.Be prepared to ram into anything stopping you that is wearing uniform in Lagos (police, traffic warden, FRSC, Kai brigade, fire brigade, VIO, LASTMA, LAMATA, LASWA)
3.If you get caught by any chance, do not allow them to enter your car, if they happen to get in do not drive from that spot (veer off traffic & settle promply), and if they don’t agree, pretend that you are calling your uncle who is in the army (believe me it always works), never follow them to any sort of office except you are ready to pay ten times more than what was demanded.
4. Never give police or VIO your original particulars (whether expired or up to date).
5. Danfo drivers believe they are immortal. Never yield to the temptation to teach them otherwise.
6. Okada riders have a pact with suicide, avoid them like a plaque.
7. Avoid BRT buses in all ramifications, they have no brakes.
10. Taxi cabs (oko asewo) should always have the right of way, all of them have been driving in Lagos for 25 years.
11. Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.
12. The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it. Survival of the fittest you may say!
13. Learn to swerve abruptly. In Lagos, potholes (and sometimes car-holes) are put in key locations to test drivers’ reflexes and shock absorbers,( I saw one man fishing in one of the potholes last week).
14. There is no such thing as “one-way” in Lagos. Expect traffic from any direction at all times. The okada riders are the experts in this area.
15. Never get in the way of a car that needs extensive bodywork, except you want to spend your whole Saturday at the panel beater’s place.

Morning rush hours

16. Morning rush-hours are equivalent to Lagos grand prix (who gets to the junction first).
17. There is no such thing as a short-cut during rush-hour traffic in Lagos. Everybody might be inclined to take that ’short-cut’.
18. When asking for directions, always ask at least three people. Lagosians always claim to know every inch of the city – even areas they’ve never been to.
19. Use extreme caution when pulling into service lanes. Service lanes are not for breaking down the traffic, but for speeding, especially during rush hour.
20. Never use directional signals, since they only confound and distract other Lagos drivers, who are not used to them.
21. Similarly, never attempt to give hand signals. Lagos drivers, unused to such courtesies, will think you are making obscene gestures to them. This could be very bad for you in Lagos.
22. Hazard lights (popularly called “double pointer”) is not, (as commonly supposed) used to indicate a hazard. It is a warning to you that he is a bonafide Lagos driver, he’s headed ’straight’ and as such, will not stop under any circumstance. Take him extremely seriously especially if he backs it up with a continuous blast from his “horn”.
23. At any given time, do not stand on the zebra crossing expecting traffic to yield to you, or else you will have to explain to the on coming traffic whether you look like a zebra.
24. Speed limits are arbitrary figures posted only to make you feel guilty.
25. Remember that the goal of every driver is to get there first by whatever means necessary.
26. In Lagos every spot is a potential bus stop. FRSC and LASTMA know that too. It is in their constitution.
Above all, keep moving. Even with a flat tyre!!!

[b]HORNING IN LAGOS[b/]
Horn’ when someone executes a dangerous maneouvre.
‘Horn’ when you’re about to move off.
‘Horn’ when you’re about to overtake.
‘Horn’ when someone is about to overtake you.
‘Horn’ when turning into a road.
‘Horn’ when emerging from a road.
‘Horn’ back when someone horns at you. It’s considered good etiquette.
‘Horn’ when you hear a chorus of horns. Don’t worry if you don’t know what all the ‘horning’ is about.
‘Horn’ when you’re happy.
‘Horn’ to the beat when you’re playing music in your car.
Good luck, as you expeditiously navigate through Lagos and hustle and bustle!

Car Talk / What You Need To Know When Buying New Tires by gioglobal(m): 11:35am On Jul 28, 2015
Buying new tires ranks pretty far down on the list of things most people want to do with their time and money, right next to replacing a failed water heater. While you might overspend on your next water heater, at least there will be a flow of warm water to wash the pain away.

Not so with tires. A poor choice of replacement rubber will haunt you every driving day for the next three to six years. The wrong tires will pound your neck, assault you with constant whining, cause your beloved sporty car to handle worse than a pickup, or scare you witless when it rains. Plus, buying new rubber is intimidating for the unprepared: Tires appear identical. Each manufacturer claims all its tires are superlative in every area. All cost more than you'd budgeted, which was "nothing." And newer vehicles require replacement components for their tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

If You Were Happy With Your Old Tires
If you like the way your car performs, the answer is easy: Buy the exact same model you had. There's a good reason—the tire and car companies spend nearly $1 million to develop a tire with the attributes that make you like your car. The original equipment tire was selected to highlight the vehicle's good features and, often, smooth over weaknesses. If you're satisfied with your car, go with tires that exactly match the original equipment tires. Tell the counter person that close isn't good enough.

If your complaint is that your vehicle lacks traction in the rain, especially in deep water, think back to when the car was new. Did it handle well in the rain back then? If so, your problem is probably low tread depth, which means you don't need different tires, just new ones.

(Not sure whether it's time to replace the tires? There's no consensus among car- and tiremakers on acceptable tire life, but keep a close eye on tires that have been on a vehicle, used as a spare, or stored in a hot or sunny location for more than six years. For a tire's "born on" date, check the sidewall for an alphanumeric series that begins with "DOT." The last four digits are the week and year the tire was made: "1209" means the tire was built in the 12th week of 2009.)

When you try to replace your tires with the same model that came on the car, you might run into sticker shock—original equipment tires can be expensive. However, carmakers offer every vehicle with at least two brands of tires. Some Web surfing will reveal the alternate brand. Keep in mind, though, that tires developed for a different trim level of your vehicle likely will be very different from those on your model. The tires for the sporty edition will ride harsher and have little traction in snow. If you want to save money by putting tires from the base model on your sporty version, they may make it handle like, well, the base model.

You'll also need to take tire life into account. If you drive a sporty car, 20,000 miles is about all you can expect. Short tire longevity is one of the prices you pay for driving a vehicle with power and handling once reserved for full-on race cars. Today, even conservative cars, crossovers, and sport utility vehicles boast horsepower once unmatched by ultrahigh-performance cars. In addition, safety, comfort, and entertainment features have added hundreds of pounds to the average vehicle. Unleashing those extra horses—and stopping and turning all that weight—takes its toll on tires.

If your original equipment tires are not available, both online tire stores and the tire manufacturer will suggest reasonable facsimiles. They will not duplicate your experience exactly, but simply having new tires, much like a fresh hair style, will likely overcome the differences.

If You Want Something New
There's hope for those who are unhappy with the way their car rides or handles. The trend of large-diameter wheels and low-profile tires has many accidental performance buyers complaining about ride comfort. A switch from ultrahigh-performance tires to those labeled "grand touring" or "touring" might soften the ride a bit. Check the consumer reviews at online tire sellers. Know that the change unavoidably will make handling less precise and reduce grip.

It's easier if you want more performance from your car: Switch from the original all-season tires to summer ones (or, as they should be called, three-season tires). They'll provide a lot more grip, wet or dry, at the expense of a harsher ride and no traction in the snow.

The most important rule: Do your research before you show up. Your trip to the tire store will be far less intimidating if you first assess your situation and budget, and then spend an evening surfing the sites of tire manufacturers, online tire sellers, and especially your local tire store.

What You Need to Know When Buying New Tires
Replacing your car's tires is usually an unwanted expense and often an intimidating buying experience. But here's what you need to know to make the new tire buying process much less painful.

Autos / Why Are Motor Tires Black? Find Out Why... by gioglobal(m): 9:13am On Jul 14, 2015
ONE OF OUR CLIENTS ASK: WHY ARE TIRES BLACK?
WELL SEE THE ANSWER:

The natural color of rubber is white, not black, as many people think. Why rubber is made black isn’t just for cosmetic reasons, but because adding carbon black to the rubber drastically increases various desirable qualities of the rubber for tires. Specifically, adding about 50% by weight of carbon black increases the road-wear abrasion of the produced tire by as much as 100 fold and improves the tensile strength of the tire by as much as 1008%. Adding carbon black also helps conduct heat away from certain hot spots on the tire, such as in the tread and belt areas, which can get particularly hot at times while driving. This reduces thermal damage to the tire, which further extends its lifespan..
