Alice Iyabo Ojo, a Nigerian film actress, director, and producer has cautioned parents who allow their kids to sign up for Tik Tok as she believes it’s not healthy for them because of some things that happen there.

Tik Tok seems to be the new way almost everybody tries to use to have fun and we have a lot of kids on the platform which Iyabo Ojo thinks it’s not healthy for them hence have cautioned their parents to prevent them from using the app or monitor them.

According to Iyabo Ojo, there are some things on Tik Tok that parents won’t want their kids to be exposed to but because they have allowed them to sign up, they are easily exposed to that without their notice.

She then cautioned those who allow their kids at the age of 4, 5, to 15 telling them to control things by not allowing their kids to be on Tik Tok because there are certain things on that app that might affect the children negatively.

Following the abysmal performance of the Ghana Black Stars at the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon, The Ghana Football Association fired Coach Milovan Rajevac.

Milovan Rajevac, according to ClassFMonline.com sources, has refused to acknowledge his $270,000 settlement in the contract he had with the country.

Rajevac’s dismissal comes a day after the Ministry of Youth and Sports instructed the GFA to “examine” the technical team of the Black Stars’ work and capacity.

Mustapha Ussif, the Minister of Youth and Sports, also instructed the FA to rebuild the Black Stars Management Committee in a statement issued.

He stated that the country has lost faith in the team and doubted the coach’s ability.

Part of the statement read: “The Ministry made it clear to the GFA that the people of Ghana have lost confidence in the capacity of the current technical team of the Black Stars to deliver success. The Ministry, therefore, asked the GFA to review the work and capacity of the Black Stars technical team led by the head coach Milovan Rajevac,”

He also directed the GFA to dissolve the Black Stars Management Committee.

Parliament Has Already Approved Controversial E-levy – Majority leader, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, a Ghanaian urban planner, and politician have intimated that Parliament has approved the 1.75 percent levy on all electronic transactions in a unanimous vote.

He added that the first hurdle in the approval of the bill has been done since the House supported the E-levy and voted a motion to accept the budget enacted by Parliament, which contained the Appropriation Bill.

He made the disclosure when he addressed a capacity building workshop organized for the Majority Caucus in Parliament and some Ministers of State, on January 22, 2022.

In his words: “It is a difficulty for me when people are kicking against the e-levy when you know that in the adoption of the motion to approve the budget, we approved of that. So, it means that the first step has already been surmounted.

“The e-levy has been factored into the various estimates that we have approved for all the sectors. That is the second thing we did. The third step is when we encapsulated everything into the Appropriation Bill and passed the bill unanimously. What does it mean, you have approved of the E-levy,”

“So when we have done all these three and turn around and say that you (Members of Parliament) are opposed to the Bill then perhaps you didn’t know what you were doing,”

A lady identified on Facebook as Maryam Shetty has narrated how a wedding was called off after the family of the prospective bride insisted that the groom’s house doesn’t suit their daughter’s standard.

The netizen while bewailing the undue intervention of parents in their children’s love life and the worth placed on material things shared the story which seemed to have an unfavourable ending.

She wrote:

“We are truly facing an epidemic especially in Northern Nigeria, often perpetuated by parents; classism.
Recently, a wedding was called off based on the fact that the bride’s family felt the house she was going to stay in doesn’t fit her status and class. This was a decent new terrace house? They said they wouldn’t want their daughter to go suffer as she grew up in wealth!!!

The said husband to be is a decent, well educated person with a good job and also from an upper class family too; his parents said that’s all they could afford to house her as the house was gifted to him by his father.
The bride’s parents even offered to get a better house that suited her status. However, the husband and his parents stood firm.

Consequently, wedding was called off. She went ahead to marry some socialite who practically does nothing. She basically missed out on a great person.
Sadly, there are too many of such stories. Weddings are cancelled due to some trivialities and misplaced priorities.

Ironically, most of these parents had humble beginnings devoid of the luxuries they place so much importance on. They never allow their kids to navigate life on their own.
Weddings and marriages have become like some competition. It’s mostly a lavish display of wealth, power, materialism, outshining of others etc; it’s truly no wonder marriages last a second.”

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested one Emeh Kalu for allegedly masterminding the kidnap and gruesome m*rder of his wife, Mrs Nneka Nwanyi-Sunday, in Abia State.

The deceased who was earlier reported missing, was found d*ad in a cassava farm on August 29, 2021 in Ngugworo Community in Nguzu Edda in Afikpo South, Ebonyi State.

Her husband and principal suspect, Kalu was arrested alongside three other suspects identified as Irem Ifeanyi Mbah, Igwe Anya Chima and Okorie Okam.

The Force spokesman, CP Frank Mba, in a statement on Wednesday, December 15, said, “The suspects are within the age bracket of 25 – 40years and all native of Nguzu Edda village in Afikpo South Local Council Area of Ebonyi State.

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, has stated that no president will declare no banditry next year.
This was remarked by Lai Mohammed in response to a query on whether the current security challenges would be resolved before President Muhammadu Buhari’s term ends in 2023.

At a news conference on Wednesday, December 15, Lai Mohammed responded to the question by saying:

“Nobody, I’m not sure any president will say by next year there will be no banditry. It is just like saying by next year, there will be no thief.

“But what is important is that they should judge us by our achievement. We’ve not thrown our hands in the air. There was a time they asked us to hire mercenaries, but our soldiers are doing their best in these circumstances.”

In other news, Femi Falana, a senior lawyer and human rights activist, claims that President Muhammadu Buhari is hesitant to sign the election bill because his party’s prominent governors claim that running direct primaries will be too costly.

Falana, speaking at TheCable Colloquium on Wednesday, December 15, claimed that these governors are afraid of computerized voting because they know it will eliminate manipulation.

He pointed out that the president rejected a similar law in 2018 on the grounds that it was too near to the 2019 election, and that the same justification may be used again.

Falana said;

“The president is reluctant to give assent to the bill because the powerful governors in his party, the ruling party, are saying it is going to be much more expensive for them to run direct primaries.

“Therefore, throw away the baby and the bath water. But where they’re actually going is that those governors have not recovered from the shock of having electronic vote. They know manipulation will be reduced to the minimum.

“That’s why they are asking the president to throw away that bill. They aren’t saying take it back to the national assembly so that the area of direct primaries can be removed.

“The bill can be rejected only on one ground. The 2018 bill was rejected by the president on the ground that it’s too close to the 2019 election. Now, the president may also say signing this bill now may be too close to the election and might cause confusion.”

The sad news of the demise of Karibi Fubara was disclosed in the late hours of Wednesday, 16th December by one of his sisters.

Ex-Beauty Queen, Princess Cries Out As Unknown Gunmen Set Her Home Ablaze, Abduct Father (Video).

Former beauty queen and graduate of Abia State university, Princess Ugonna has cried out after people she described asunknown gunmen set her home ablaze and abducted her father in Imo State.

Calling out Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, the ex-beauty queen questioned why the governor kept telling the world that Imolites and Nigerians at large are safe, whereby the reverse is the case.

In a post on Instagram, Princess posted a video showing the embattled building that was burnt, as she lamented the loss of her school certificates including that of her siblings in the building.
