A 20-year-old girl identified as Ewatomi, has been battered for the umpteenth time by her abusive boyfriend only identified as Sanchez.

The latest assault took place at his Apete residence in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to a chat between Ewatomi and her friend, Sanchez got angry and battered her after catching him flirting with another lady.

She revealed that yesterday’s beating wasn’t his first of punching her like a boxer trying to defend his heavyweight title, but he has however apologized to her and vowed never to beat her again.

The 2-year-old marriage between actress Yvonne Jegede and actor Kunle Fawole aka Abounce, is currently going experiencing turbulence, according to multiple sources.

The actress first gave a hint, late last year, via a post on her page and sources say she has now packed out of the house she once shared with Abounce. Both of them have also yanked off their wedding rings.

According to a source, the issue stems from the paternity of their child who was welcomed towards the end of 2018. Abounce is said to be doubtful of the paternity, hence his refusal to openly acknowledge the baby till now.

Another report says actress Bimbo Akintola may somehow be linked to the crisis, although the exact role she played is not known. However, a comment she made some weeks ago and liked by Abounce, shows her calling him her property.

The Lagos state police command have arrested Ogundoju Olalekan pictured above for attempting to steal the car of an Uber driver in the Maroko axis of the state.

A statement from the state police command's spokesperson, Chike Oti, says the Anti crime patrol team of Maroko Police Station in Lagos state led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Isah Abdulmajid, were on crime prevention patrol when they came across one Ogadinma Ikeagu, crying for help. He narrated that his Toyota Corolla saloon car, with registration number KJA 69 FE, had just been snatched by two passengers he picked at the African Shrine.

The DPO took the driver in his patrol vehicle and they drove in the same direction taken by the thieves while escaping with the car. Fortunately for the distressed Uber Driver, the Police team was able to intercept the car within Victoria Island.

Although one of the thieves escaped, the team arrested Olalekan who resides at no.14 Shomorin street, Ifako Gbagada. He was immediately searched and two wooden prototypes of berratta pistols were recovered from him.

On interrogation, he confessed to have committed the crime.

A 28-year-old man, Edet Edem, was on Friday arraigned before the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Uyo for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl.

Edem, a tricycle operator, who lives in Use Offot village in the Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, is standing trial on a two-count charge of defilement.

The suspect hails from Oku Iboku community, Itu Local Government Area of the state.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Samuel Akpan, told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 13, 2019 at Use Offot village.

The charge read, “That you, Edet Edem, and one Ikpe (a girl), did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: defilement, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 552 of the Criminal Code, Cap, Vol.2 Laws of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, 2000.

“That you, Edet Edem, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a10-year-old girl, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 32(1) and punishable under Section 32(2) of the Child Rights Law of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, 2000.”

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Effiong Effiong, directed that the accused be remanded in prison custody while his accomplice, Ikpe, be remanded in the corrective centre. The case was adjourned to February 13, 2019.”

A middle-aged printer, Mr Folorunsho Oyedele, on Thursday told an Agege Customary Court, Lagos, that he could only afford N15,000 as final alimony.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that alimony is financial support paid by one ex-spouse to the other after a marriage legally ends.

Folorunsho prayed the court to dissolve his six-year-old marriage to Mojisola over alleged threat to his life and lack of love, insisting he would give her only N15,000.

He said that he was no more interested in the marriage which has yet to produce children.

The petitioner, who resides at Agege, also claimed that his wife was fetish.

“Mojisola is diabolical, she always comes home with charms, and my fear is that she may kill me one day if I do not end the marriage,” he submitted.

Folorunsho equally described his wife as arrogant.

“My wife likes hurling insults at me and threatening to deal with me,” he added.

He urged the court to end the marriage, saying he was no longer in love with her.

In her response, Mojisola, a pepper seller who lives at Ojodu Berger, an outskirt of Lagos, denied all the allegations but consented to the dissolution of the marriage.

“I am also fed up with the union,” she told the court.

She appealed to the court to urge the petitioner to settle her financially.

The petitioner promised to give her N15,000, saying he could not afford more than that.

The Court President, Mrs Patricia Adeyanju, urged the estranged couple to maintain peace, and adjourned the case until March 5 for judgment.
