Controversial reality star and Internet sensation, Natacha Akide has bagged Social media Influencer award, courtesy of Scream Awards.

The reality star has not only been a topic of discussion for all and sundry in recent times, she has also carved a great fan-base for herself; one that would readily come to her rescue, if need arises.

Tacha was nominated under the ‘Social media Influencer of the year’ category of Scream Awards, alongside other nominees, but she emerged winner of the category.

Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has reacted to criticism from people who wonder why she is not married at the age of 35.
The actress was infuriated after a TV presenter stated that at her age she ought to be married with three kids.

Reacting to the criticism, Lydia Forson wondered why married women love to invade the affairs of single women.

“There are so many nasty ways I can respond to this, but I’m going to choose not to. And before you tell me to ignore, you have to walk a mile in my shoes, to understand how it feels to be constantly berated by people who know nothing about you, your life, struggles etc. Why a happily married woman, would be so engrossed in the life of another woman not only baffles me but exposes a lot about her. It seems this is the only way to gain popularity and notoriety these days; but my dear you must be prepared for every smoke it comes with. So when things start to fall apart in your life, you know you laid the foundation.

Why my marital status is a constant subject of conversation is something I will never understand, does it feed, clothe or improve your life in anyway? ‪These are the people who’ll be suffering in their homes, crying at night, suffering abuse but will stay silent to maintain their “title”. Happy people rarely worry about other people,” Lydia Forson wrote in an Instagram post which she swiftly deleted for reasons best known to her.

Big Brother Naija Star, Symply Tacha has a strong fan base, who apparently, can go to any length for her.

Her stans are set to come together to establish a Radio station for the Reality TV star, called TITAN FM.

Zlatan Ibile has finally offered the olive branch to the fans of Natacha ‘Tacha’ Akide after their nasty row on social media.

Recall that their feud began last month after Tacha got disqualified from the #BBNaija reality TV show. While her fans, called the Titans, mourned her exit, Zlatan Ibile released a song in which he body-shamed the reality TV star. And so, when he got nominated for the Next Rated category of the Headies Awards, the Titans campaigned against him and voted for Mavin star Rema, who eventually won the category.

Zlatan did not address that loss, did not show how much that hurt, until yesterday when he won two awards at the AFRIMMA show in Dallas, and he took to his Twitter to flaunt his plaques, mocking the Titans and prompting yet another row.

Eventually, he succumbed after a heated exchange with the fierce army, and now has declared his love not only for Tacha but also for the Titans.

Three Nigerian students/graduates of the Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, have been killed in a car crash that occurred last week.

They are identified as Daniel Okocha , Oluwatosin Adeojo and Femi Adebowale.


The deceased and one other person were taking a trip in a car when it was struck by a pick-up truck. . RCMP were called to 1st Avenue and Battle Street at 1:40 a.m. PT after reports of the collision. Daniel and Femi died at the spot while Tosin later died at the hospital .

The owner of the truck was arrested Sunday but was released later that day. No charges have been laid. .

A statement from the university's president, Brett Fairbairn, posted on TRU's website, says all four people in the car were international students, either current or alumni.

Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said Seriake Dickson, governor of Bayelsa, is in a state of panic over the defeat his candidate will get in the governorship election holding on Saturday.

The APC national chairman said this during the party’s rally in support of its candidate for the election, David Lyon, at the Oxbow Lake Pavilion in Yenagoa, on Tuesday.

Oshiomhole said, “Dickson is panicking, how can he not panic when the Lion has arrived. Who will not panic when you cannot point at the schools you have built and the Lion is coming; when you borrowed as much as he has borrowed to do things that people cannot see and now a Lion is coming to ask questions, why won’t you panic?” Oshiomhole asked.

“When you are been accused of spending almost N100 billion to construct less than three and a half kilometres runway but nothing is running, and there is no way and the Lion is coming to ask you to account, won’t you panic?”

“So, I think Governor Dickson deserves our sympathy. But the best he can do is not to complicate his own problem by resorting to violence.

“He saw power as something that intoxicates, nobody else matters, everybody was to serve him even those who have held senior national positions that helped him to where he is today.

“The Lion has grown up in this community, he has experienced what the ordinary Bayelsans have experienced. He understands how poverty dehumanises. He is an example of what is possible when a man is focused,” he said.

“Today, I believe that the people of Bayelsa state by coming out on Saturday to vote for one of your own, you will be making a bold statement that indeed this democracy that anybody who is focused who is determined, who empowers ordinary people, when he is out for change you will support him.

“Dickson will soon find out that democracy is an equalizer. When you think that you are bigger than anyone, on election day you will discover that the unemployed, the deprived, the abused, the deceived on that day they are all equal.”

Emir of Karaye in Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II, has called for proper investigation into the death of a 26-year-old man, Abdulkadir Nasiru, who was allegedly tortured to death by the police.

Information Officer of the Karaye Local Government/Emirate Council, Alhaji Haruna Gunduwawa, who made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen said the Emir made the call after receiving a report of the incident from the father of the deceased, Malam Nasiru Madobi, and the District Head of Madobi in his palace.

He called on the Commissioner of Police in the state to ensure proper investigation into the alleged torture and killing of Abdulkadir by some police officers in the Madobi Division.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the incident.
He said, “Four policemen had already been arrested in connection with the incident.”

Both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State are claiming victory of sorts from the verdict of the appeal court on the gubernatorial contest between incumbent Seyi Makinde and Adebayo Adelabu of the APC.

While the APC said the verdict was unambiguous as it set aside the tribunal judgement that validated the election of Makinde, the spokesman of Makinde also said the verdict was so crystal clear as it did not affect the status quo, that Makinde remains the governor.

Assistant Publicity Secretary of APC, Prince Ayobami Adejumo reacting to the judgment said it validated the claims of the party and its candidate Adebayo Adelabu that Makinde did not win the 9 March governorship election.


“The Court of Appeal found that the Judgement of the lower Tribunal, which dismissed the petition of the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Adelabu, challenging the election of Makinde in the election of March 9, 2019 was perverse and therefore set the Judgement aside,” Adejumo said.

“The verdict given on Monday was unambiguous, apt and sound enough to convince any informed mind about the genuineness of our claim that Makinde’s declaration as the winner of the March 9 poll was done by INEC in error.

“The results announced were ridiculously inflated and there is no way such conspiracy could stand the test of proper scrutiny as this was just confirmed by the Appellate Court.

In contrast, Governor Seyi Makinde said the judgment of the Appeal Court has changed nothing, contrary to the spin that the APC has given it.

In a bizarre manner, a man has stabbed a commercial sex worker to death at Edo Inn Hotel in Surulere area of Lagos.

The assailant, Babatunde Damilare was said to have stabbed the commercial sex worker, Eluchukwu severally on her neck during a fight over the price for sex, killing her immediately.

Police said the suspect has been arrested and would be charged to court soon.

Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Bala Elkana, while confirming the tragedy said the incident occurred last Wednesday.


“On 6/11/2019 at about 2300 hours, Surulere Police Station received an information that one commercial sex worker identified as Elochukwu ‘f’ engaged her customer, Babatunde Damilare ‘m’ in a fight over the price of sex, at Edo Inn Hotel, No 17 Atan Street, Empire, Surulere.

“During the scuffle, the said Babatunde Damilare picked a knife and stabbed Eluchukwu severally on her neck which led to her death on the spot. The suspect was arrested by Homicide detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer Surulere, CSP Adebayo Adeoya.

“Corpse of the deceased person was evacuated and deposited at Mainland Hospital morgue, Yaba for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing, the suspect will be charged to Court,” he said.

These days, it is not strange to see actors play roles of lesbians and homosexuals in movies. While many movie buffs have condemned movies like that, other enthusiasts believe nothing is wrong in depicting such roles.

Rising filmmaker and actress, Seun Omojola, in a chat with Sunday Scoop stated that she cannot play such roles in a movie.

She said, “I can’t act a same-sex lover character. I can act another role in the movie if it has a good storyline but I cannot interpret the role of a lesbian.”


Speaking further, the busty actress stated that she once spent her entire savings on producing a movie. She added, “I can recall spending my savings on a movie. When the movie was eventually released, I didn’t recoup the capital, let alone profit. It was a great learning experience for me.”

Omojola also stated that though plus size women are making giant strides in the entertainment industry, they are not given much attention.

“Plus size women are doing great things in movie industries all over the world but you can count them because they are not much. And that’s because the entertainment industry has painted a picture of who the ideal leading lady should be, which is mostly size six-12."
