Well if they requested for your passport it means you will be given the visa.
Same thing happened when I got my PR. They'll update it when the visa has been stamped.

Hi, we got an email to come collect our passport at the VFS centre.
We applied March 19th and this is the second time we applied after the initial rejection.

The only difference is that with the first application, CIC sent us an email stating reasons why they were not issuing the visa.
This time around, we just got an email from the VFS centre to come collect our processed passport. What do you guys think?

I don't really understand why CIC is taking so long to process visas.

I applied in the UK and I thought it was even be faster doing it there but I was wrong. Hope they don't deny one based on the fact that the Conference I wanted to go for has come and gone?

I know some one who applied online 25th of march and have been updated. Though she was denied visa

When was her file updated? i.e. when did she hear back from them?

Well based on my extrapolation, you should hear from them in a week or 2

Also, does the online portal update your VISA info before they send it to VFS. My mum’s was updated with her VISA details (I applied for her in February online, her passport was collected almost a month after it was ready cause she was lazy so I can’t be sure when her visa was ready). I just remember they updated the VISA info online so I was wondering if this is done before the VISA is returned to VFS.

Would you suggest I just go to the VFS office to check if the VISA is ready? It’s literally a 3 minute walk from my house.

You got the approval, so I suggest you wait for the email.
What were their reasons for previous denials?

My case is very peculiar. it’s quite a long story that I don’t want to share until the passport is in my hand because it’s a too good to be true miraculous kind of story. I will go there on Monday and check. If it’s there I will tel you guys the full story.

I have a friend who applied for her visa March 19th and the visa Centre in Lagos.
No replies from the Canadian high commission yet....
Has anyone applied in the last 2 months and have gotten a decision from the embassy yet?

I submitted my passport last Friday after getting an Original passport request. Do you think it’ll be ready for pick up on Monday? (It’s been a week as of this Friday). I want to go to Canada next week as my new business venture starts in June and I need the break!

When did you submit your online application?
It takes 3-5 business days on the average.
