I just came across this post on Facebook and decided to share it. Read and tell me what you think. . . The Nigerian Pastor won't talk about Usain Bolt or Serena Williams. They won't talk about late Dora Akunyili or Tony Elumelu. The Nigerian pastor wont talk about Steve Jobs or the young people in Silicon Valley reshaping our world. They won't talk about young American scientists spending endless hours in search of a cure to a disease that's predominantly in the Tropical African region. The Nigerian pastor won't talk about Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or Ben Okri. In every corner of the world, there exist young men and women who has defiled all odds and became successful through hardwork, creativity and dedication... The Nigerian pastor wont talk about them......neither will he ask his members to emulate the spirit of these individuals. He would rather talk about sister Agatha who got a job she WAS NOT THE MOST QUALIFIED because she prayed and fasted in line with their church program. Or Brother John who became a millionaire because he used all his salary as a seed in the church. Or Papa Miracle who he laid his hands on and 3 of his children got admission in the university Or Mama Esther paid her tithe and her business started growing everywhere across the nation......no business plan, just boom, everywhere. This has led to a new breed of mentally lazy young people who now see God as a rewarder of mediocrity. To the Nigeria Pastor, the only way to prosper is by paying your tithe and sowing seeds in the church. So they will never talk about those who has through hardwork and dedication placed theirselves in the world map. No......the Nigeria God only blesses the first 30 people that rush to the altar to drop 100,000 as seed. The Nigeria God abhors hardwork and creative thinking, He only gives to those who sow seeds and offerings......and those who shout "i am a millionaire" every morning and do nothing the rest of the day. Continue.... You want God to come down and help you use the talent He gave you and bless you because you are going to church to shout "Daddy, I receive it" You all jokers. Can someone tell these jokers that irrespective of your creed, faith or religion, blessings and favours follows you once you start using your talent and become useful to your society. God doesn't owe you N5! By Chijioke Anyacho Hmmm What do you think? |

R&B star Marques Houston appears to have fully completed his Jehovah’s Witness Conversion, after he took to social media to celebrate his baptism. The former child star looks to be fully committed to his new religion, judging by the information he has shared on social media sites such as Instagram. While marking his baptism day, Marques commented to his more than 637,000 followers: “8/13/16 The best day of my life!!! I got baptized today I’ve never been this happy #JW Jehovah my God, thank you for allowing me the privilege to be one of your Witnesses now #DayTwo #RemainLoyalToJehovah Convention.” Marques, known for hit songs such as “That Girl” and “Clubbin.” He also uploaded a video collage commemorating the baptism, which had the caption: “My Baptism: I can not even put into words the feelings/emotions and overwhelming joy running through my mind. To know that Jehovah God, or Heavenly Father, the CREATOR of any and everything chose me to be his loyal servant! I am humbled beyond words, and I am so grateful to all who embarked on this journey with me! This is only the first step and I look forward to where life is gonna take me now that I have Jehovah behind the wheel.” Houston has had a long relationship with stardom, first as a child star with a singing group known as Immature, then he became an actor in a television comedy, Sister, Sister starring Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell (identical twins Tia and Tamera Mowry). The online reaction to his conversion and baptism has been largely positive, although there have been some negative reactions as well. Houston recently had to come out and address some of the negative comments. He remarked: “Dear friends. Please do not post negative comments on my pictures. I would never disrespect anyone’s page and I hope that you all respect my page the same. I am very happy with my choices and my decisions and I would love if everyone just left positivity, especially with so much negativity going on in the world today. My IG is just like the rest of you, to express myself and show you just a little of my life. I am still a very private person and a lot of my life I don’t post. Peace. And make sure to continue to keep God first in all you do.” Houston is not the only celebrity to have converted to Jehovah’s Witness. Celebrities such as Prince, Michael Jackson and Serena Williams have been counted as members of the church. Jehovah’s Witness are a sect of Christians who espouse the conviction that Jesus is God’s “only begotten Son.” They also do not celebrate birthdays, are not blood or organ donors and, they do not believe in war as a solution to humanity’s problems. Their official website says they “strive to adhere to the form of Christianity that Jesus taught and that his apostles practiced.” Cc: Lalasticlala, Seun http://www.worldreligionnews.com/religion-news/christianity/rb-star-marques-houston-completes-jehovahs-witness-conversion/amp/?client=ms-opera-mobile&espv=1"

Lala come and see snake ooo! |
Hahaa. This deserves front page abeg. |
Star striker Lionel Messi will return to
play for the Argentine national
football team for "love" of his
country, despite earlier vowing to
retire in frustration, he said on
Friday.
It was heartening news for the
country's demanding soccer fans
after Argentina were knocked out of
the Olympic Games this week in the
group stage, their latest in a string of
humiliations.
The 29-year-old Barcelona superstar
abruptly had announced his
international retirement in tears after
Argentina lost the Copa America final
to Chile on June 26.
"A lot of things went through my
mind on the night of the final and I
gave serious thought to quitting, but
my love for my country and this shirt
is too great," he said on Friday in a
statement released by his
management company.
His earlier vow to quit had dismayed
fans, many of whom held street
rallies and posted online messages
begging him not to go.
It became practically an affair of
state when Argentina's President
Mauricio Macri called on him to stay.
"It is a gift from God to have the
best player in the world in a
footballing country like ours," Macri
said in June.
"Lionel Messi is the greatest thing we
have in Argentina and we must take
care of him."
WORLD CUP PREP
Argentina's new coach was due later
on Friday to announce his squad for
looming World Cup qualifiers.
Coach Edgardo Bauza met with Messi
in Barcelona this week hoping to
convince him to rejoin the squad.
Bauza was due to announce his list
of players for games against Uruguay
on September 1 and Venezuela on
September 6. A news conference was
scheduled for the announcement at
2100 GMT Friday.
Bauza took over the job from
Gerardo Martino and was tasked with
turning things around ahead of the
2018 World Cup, amid a management
crisis at the Argentine Football
Association.
"There are a lot of issues that need
to be resolved in Argentine football,
but I prefer to help from within and
not to criticise from the outside,"
Messi's statement said.
"I send my thanks to all of those
who want me to continue playing for
Argentina. I hope that we'll be able
to give them something to cheer
about soon."
OLYMPIC DISAPPOINTMENT
Argentina have suffered a string of
disappointing losses in big
tournaments with Messi, including
the World Cup final in 2014.
His vow to quit followed by Martino's
resignation deepened the chaos in
the frustrated squad ahead of the
Olympics.
Argentina eventually exited the
Games in Brazil on Wednesday after
a 1-1 draw with Honduras.
Five Ballons d'Or, four Champions
League titles and three Club World
Cups have prompted many to rank
Messi the best player ever.
But at international level he has only
a 2008 Olympic title.
His shortage of international
silverware is arguably the one thing
that stops him definitively eclipsing
Argentina's World Cup-winning soccer
legend Diego Maradona.
Messi's phenomenal goal-scoring
record and gravity-defying skills have
helped secure eight league crowns
with Barcelona as well as four
Spanish Cups and six Spanish Super
Cups.
He helped lead Barcelona to league
triumph in Spain this year, as one in
a deadly trio of strikers along with
Brazilian Neymar and Uruguayan Luis
Suarez.
But Messi has suffered off the pitch
in a court case in Spain. He was
convicted last month of tax fraud
related to his image rights and vowed
to appeal.
The Spanish court handed him and
his father Jorge a 21-month
suspended jail sentence.
The player was also fined the
equivalent of $2.3 million and his
father $1.8 million. |

So so sad. Wait, wait, wait, you mean to tell me that these 87 people and organizations could only raise 1.2 million naira. That is an average of about 14,000 is what each contributed. You'll expect 20 or 30 of his colleagues to raise the 1.2 mill. #Smh |
