Imagine how formidable Obi would have been if he was running this election with all prominent Anambra people behind him, including Soludo and Obiano, but he destroyed that by fighting Obiano for 8 years and even Soludo in last year election. People seem to forget.

The flyovers might not be substandard, but they are not fit for purpose. A roundabout under the flyovers would have been a better design, as the present designs are constituting holdup they were meant to address.

Please when did Obi said we do not need an airport?.He was the one that acquired and paid compensation for the airport land of today

My humble piece of advice to Soludo is to never fight Obi again, whether now or after election. Obi has the goodwill of Anambra and he is like Buhari of the South. Soludo should be careful with Obi, otherwise, no trace of APGA will be left in Anambra.
The flyovers is serving its purpose that's free flow of traffic to enugu/onitsha. If you are on interstate journey using the flyover you will leave Awka in minutes, yes the under can be expanded to accommodate more traffic since Awka has witnessed massive population of recent.

Sorry Peter obi is not the Buhari of the south, he's not even the Buhari of Anambra. His social media "goodwill" does not translate to votes which is what politicians needs. If not Obiano wont have done second tenure and Soludo wont have won. Let Obi go and make peace genuinely with Obiano. its karma that's fighting him. This election season and all his hype will be over by next month.

Obi was criticing Anambra Airport while campaigning for Val Ozigbo. Read below to understand how the land for the airport was acquired.

My brother you are Right!!!! He can’t forget Obiano… who made it possible for him to be Governor, because of Soludo APGA split in half … but Obiano kept on and supported him all through the way… then for Peter Obi … is a must to put him there. For all reasons, and also for the fact Peter Obi brought Obiano that also brought Soludo… so therefore he is Peter Obi’s descendant.
Biko Any update on the concessionaire of our river port?

Daalu nu
Why does Obi have to be put on a flyover him and his propaganda media spent 8 years calling substandard and saying it will collaspe and also calling a waste? The problem is we have short memory in this country. Maybe tomorrow someone will also tell us to name Anambra Airport after obi that said Anambra does not need an airport.

If anyone wants obi painting on anything let them mention his projects where those paintings and naming would be done or let them first publicly apologize for all the propaganda against Obiano. That is the problem of Obi in Anambra today. He's currently reaping his 8 years of bad politics in Anambra. We warned.

Soludo is just waiting till after the elections to face him squarely. grin grin grin

GBAM! I hate the way the Obi people want to continuously demonize Obiano in order to claim his solid achievements as their own!

If Obiano was a failed governor as they had hoped, they would have dissociated themselves from any of his projects! It is clear that the Taraba Governor was just lying through his teeth that Obiano told him mockingly that it was Obi's money that he utilized to build the Anambra Intl. airport! Let's face it, Obiano could never have said that. Remember this false statement was purportedly made during Obiano's second term when his relationship with Obi had become so dreadful. To the contrary, Obiano made it public that he actually inherited about N10 billion naira in the Anambra accounts, but had a liability of more than N110 billion naira in debt owed!

Moreso, another piece of evidence that Obiano never told the Taraba governor that silly lie is that he began building the airport in his 2nd term! At that time, he had a very adverse relationship with Peter Obi due to numerous attacks on his person by the former. Not to mention that if Obi had left anything in the preceding 6.5 years before the airport construction was started by Obiano, that resource would have long been used to complete the Agulu Lake Hotel in his hometown, the Onitsha mall, and numerous roads and bridges abandoned at the time!

Willie Obiano is truly a juggernaut! So he decided not to ruin Obi's chances by coming out in public to expose the lies told by the Taraba governor. I hope Prof Soludo will learn Obiano's method of KEEPING QUIET and WORKING HARD for the progress of the people that elected him instead of writing letters. Ultimately, it is Ndi Anambra that will decide if he did well or not as their governor. Not the faceless social media goons that have no PVC!

Well said. One would wonder, since they were celebrating Obi savings, why have they moved from celebrating the savings to now celebrating the savings being used to build airport. Assuming Obiano squandered the savings like they were saying previously, what would they be celebrating now? Bunch of deluded idiots.

Obiano was the one that created this fake obi online popularity by allowing him control the narrative on social media while focusing on governance. Unfortunately for him Soludo is not like that and has his name to protect. So this is actually end of the road. Why hasnt he or his aides joined issues with Soludo all these while, because they know Soludo will pull down the house totally. All these while we never knew Obi would ever say Government continuum until Soludo attacked him . grin grin

Shut up , you lying bbastard. I remember your post very well and you were staunchly against Obi but you just beginning to realize you are going to be a loser for the rest of your life and now you are backtracking... disgusting fool. You insulted me on many occasion because I love Obi.

As for Obiano, the press are waiting for him....he has many questions to answer. Airport and ICC will not save him. As for calling the Taraba state governor a liar, it shows how desperate you are. Let Obiano counter him
Why didn't you say he's beginning to realize Obi would win thats why he's backtracking? Thats because you fools know Obi is going nowhere. Just disturbing and tring to rewrite history. You spent the last 8 years saying Obiano squandered the fake obi savings only to want to turn around to say it was used to build an airport because a governor after smoking marijuana and dry gin narrated what Obiano told him in his dreams.
Why hasnt Obi said that with his mouth except speaking through idiotic proxies. This was the same man that campaigned against Obiano's relection for "wasting his savings"
As for Obiano and the press. The press has already rated him as the best Anambra Governor till date. The only person the press is waiting for is Obi to explain where he kept Anambra money.

You are a faceless nobody on Nairaland and as much as I know you are not Obiano's press secretary. Obiano and his press secretary are there to answer questions.

Why is Obiano running away from press.
He is scared to answer two questions: 1) What happened to Obi's savings and, 2) How much did you save for Anambra.

Obi has already proven he saved the money the onus is on Obiano and his team of liars to come meet the press.

Replying you is a waste of time because your are a broke ass nonentity online writing nonsense.

Nwokem gbafuo
Obiano has severally debunked the fake savings (again I'll be publishing the links in case you forgot). Also Obiano in the 2017 Anambra Gov debate said Obi only left 15 billion and over 100 billion in debt, so the so called Obi savings were not even enough to clear his debts. So there is nothing like Obi savings.

This was how you fools were egging Soludo with the fake news of Obi's investment now worth 100 million until Soludo came out to debunk it in a well written article and they the same noisemakers started crying how Soludo is jealous of Obi, how Soludo is againts Igbo presidency and other nonsense.

Soludo has already answered all Obiano needs to answer which is that the so called savings by obi are worth NEXT to nothing. Some of the so called investments were not even touched by Obiano. Stop regurgitating the fake nonsense of Obiano using the fake savings to build the airport which you idiots never believed would be possible!

Obiano has publicly stated in debates and elsewhere that his biggest source of funding as governor were donors, and not the fake savings.

I seem to remember reading where the Taraba state governor said Obiano told him he financed the project from the savings Peter Obi made for the state. Surely that’s better than borrowing and i reckon Obi should be commended for his fiscal prudence.

The airport is surely coining it in, but i think 500 million per month is a tad overly optimistic! grin Just wondering the kind of sharing formula being used between the federal and state gov’ts to share revenue generated from the airport? I ask because i don’t remember the federal gov’t contributing shi-shi towards its construction.
Pls stop bringing up the Taraba governor fake news. Obiano has never mentioned he built the airport from any savings.

Biko, which taxation? Why can't they publish taxes on buses from Enugu, Asaba, Lagos or Port Harcourt to compare if the Anambra taxes are higher? It is very annoying when people who totally REFUSE to pay their taxes are often the most vocal people demanding good roads and lamenting poor infrastructure in the state. It is even more annoying that the same bus owners refusing to pay monthly taxes in Anambra are doing exactly the same in Asaba, Enugu, Lagos, and Kano! So why do you gladly pay taxes in other states, but refuse to do the same in Anambra? The idea that Anambra is a fiefdom where no civil rules apply and therefore nobody is obliged to pay their taxes must be dropped.

Gov. Soludo should not bulge in his determination to create a sane society where taxes are paid DIRECTLY into the state coffers than using touts and criminals to collect taxes that are never remitted to the government.
Exactly. I didnt see them protest against FG toll gate in 2nd Niger Bridge, they were very quiet and accepted it. Soludo should not flinch. Anyone that dont want to pay tax should use another route or leave the state. Anambra is grossly undertaxed. Thats the truth and thats is why there is a lot of lawlessness. People building hotels, schools, residential houses indescriminately.

Las Las, we all should be very GRATEFUL to Obiano for his giant strides in Anambra.

I can confidently say that he would probably be the most development-minded, critical thinker that ever occupied government house Awka. The only thing was that Obiano was not a noise maker and did not use the media to hype himself.

All the same, I am grateful for the magnificent work he did in Anambra state!
Very well said. Last last I dont want to hear any Anambra governor come and tell us they are saving money ever again or cutting cost of governance. We need projects.

Thankfully Soludo is against the idea of saving money. Anambra has so far received over 1 billion extra revenue from 13% derivation courtesy of Obiano. The man really loves and meant well for the state. God bless Willie Obiano and help Soludo to continue with these high ambitions.
So far I score Soludo very high on maintenance and sustenance of these projects. I am always happy seeing the ICC looking neat and beautiful each time.

Politics / Poll Ranks Obiano As Best Anambra Governor Since 1999 by globemoney01: 12:20pm On Nov 24, 2022
The immediate past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has been rated as the best chief executive of the state in the past 23 years, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, trade and investment.

Obiano’s administration was reportedly focused on introducing leadership reforms for optimum social impact, devoid of media fanfare that beclouds the real performance of state governors while they are in office.

In a survey conducted by a financial literacy and content platform, Financial Street (financialstreet.ng), which targeted project funding, impact and scale of investment as well as security of projects, the immediate past governor was credited with excellence in the three areas.

Speaking on Wednesday, in Lagos, while releasing the result of the survey, the Director of Operations at Financial Street, Mr Ifendu Iwenofu, explained that the firm decided to embark on the poll to gauge public perception on government performance and project relevance to the people.

He said researchers from the firm went round the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra and administered open-ended questions to a random sample size of 1,000 persons in each of the three senatorial districts.

Iwenofu said those targeted were adults of voting age, working class men and women as well as business owners and traders that are/were Anambra residents.

“The researchers also went round four major markets in Lagos State, which are, on the average of 83 per cent, dominated by traders of Anambra extraction,” the operations director said.

He added, “Financial Street decided to pick Anambra as a state of interest among three others that were selected. Similar polls will be conducted in Ekiti and Osun states in January or February 2023.”

Iwenofu disclosed that while 79 per cent of respondents rated Obiano above former governors in the area of agribusiness, 71 per cent and 66 per cent said he performed better than previous administrations in investment/trade and general infrastructure, respectively.

Findings from the poll show that about 61 per cent of respondents rated Dr Chris Ngige as number one in the area of road construction and maintenance, with Peter Obi (who succeeded Ngige) and Obiano scoring 20 per cent and 18 per cent respectively.

A graphical presentation of the poll results shows that the administration of Obi came tops in education with 69 per cent. Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju scored 51 per cent in security, while Obiano got 38 per cent.

“In rating Obiano high on the three sectors, projects that the respondents easily identified were the signature flyovers, the Anambra International Convention Centre and the Anambra International and Cargo Airport. Those polled recalled the former governor’s exploits in enhancing the Anambra Ricebrand, as his administration introduced the first digital databank for Anambra farmers and active situation room for progress monitoring and evaluation,” Iwenofu stated.

On Ekiti and Osun states, he disclosed, “Financial Street is collaborating with development partners to examine the impact of democratic governance on the socio-economic development of Nigerians.”

He said the essence of conducting the surveys after the administrations had wound up was to allow the respondents exercise ultimate freedom to give unbiased answers.

The platform’s director maintained that eight months after the last administration in Anambra, it was easy to reckon with public recollections and ratings of previous administrations, which he said showed that incremental progress was being recorded as Nigeria’s democracy endures.

“By May 29, 2023, Nigeria’s democracy would have clocked 24 years and we, at Financial Street, believe it would be time to do a practical evaluation of various trends and tendencies in states.

“In Anambra, we were able to analyse the data and found that a world of difference exists between actual performance by governors and what the media celebrate during their tenures.

“The outcome of the poll is interesting, because the former governor was not active on the media. Real public perception about programme relevance and impact can only be gauged after the life of a particular administration,” he noted.

The finance minister once assured us that the exchange rate of the Naira against the Dollar will get to N1,000 by December and just watch how it must happen. All this fluctuations we are experiencing now will surely level out in a few days time.

In another news . . .

Soludo was a very terrible CBN governor. He single-handedly destroyed the Nigerian banking sector.

Why couldn’t he learn from the German model of banking evolution? After a long time battling with their own banks they decided to practice the regional banking model which has strengthened their own banking institutions there thereby making it an envy to other countries around them. Why must one bank have branches in every local government of the country? Can’t we have regional banks that can cater to different parts of the country? In other countries with better financial systems you’d hardly find such a model. Over there you’d see banks that only operate in a state or part of the country and can’t be seen in other parts but they’re customer care and deposit/withdrawal systems are all linked together.

Soludo’s N25billion useless reserve policy killed off 90% of the regional and micro finance banks in Nigeria thereby adding to our growing unemployment rate.

See the police micro finance bank in ikeja that year with steady deposits that crashed. They had trillions of naira streaming in and out as deposits and withdrawals before that useless policy of his came about. When I knew there was something wrong with his policy was when small tiny Standard Trust Bank took over a whole UBA undecided Standard Trust just rushed to sell off their shares anyhow to get the capitalization for their wuru-wuru takeover. Today you see mushroom banks starting and failing anyhow. How many times has Skye bank/Polaris bank been sold and resold within the last 15 years?

I still wonder how Nigeria allowed Soludo who studied Economics to head the country’s banking industry. What a big goof on our leaders part.
SOludo really hit obidients below the bet because why all these nagging

I hate that obi is d one collecting all d grenade caused by obiano. Obiano is the snake here. Obiano is the enemy of anambra. Under obiano ,anambra became a shithole. Under obiano anambra was looted massively.
Obiano and his gangs knows that if obi wins tomorrow, the environment is going to be too hot for them. Reason why they must pull him down now.

As for solo we give him just two years to start seeing his track records
Shut up your mouth and face Soludo. If not that Obiano is a good man Obi should be in jail by now instead of deceiving himself contesting for president. That liar as lied so much to deceive poorly educated Nigerians. Soludo has just secured his second term by destroying that liar politically, ndi Anambra are very happy.
All the lies about investments, savings, how obiano squandered savings has now disappeared. The same liar has now admitted he did nothing as governor and that investments go up and down. A fraudster that was saving and investing Anambra money in his family business while poverty was growing across the state until Obiano came and reduced it to 14%.

So far Soludos track record is putting the fraudster in his place.

Yeah, I have gone through it, and I think you are being clever in a very comical way.

Obi was Governor from 2007 to 2014, but you're bringing up a data for the year 2010 alone to nail Obi to the cross?

Shoko brought up that fact, but it seem you surreptitiously avoided that.

I was following you guys' argument and I'll like it if you could address that fact.

Now, on these figures...why are you singling out Obi to haggle when other states are recording 52, 56, 64, 70, 74, even Lagos and Abuja has 48 and 55 per cent respectively for the same year.

So I am forced to asked; Anambra's poverty rate IN COMPARISON to what? grin

If you're going to drag Obi, drag other and put them to the chopping block. If Obi is responsible for that, other Governors are very much culpable.

EVERY OTHER STATES has more than 40% absolute poverty rate for that year.
I'm dragging him because poverty grew in the state under him from what it was before him, despite being a governor during Nigerias best economic period. The rate dropped under Obiano despite recessions and very bad economy.
