Politics / Re: Reasons Why Agbaje Would Lose The Lagos Governorship Election Again- Opinion by Glory12345(f): 4:23pm On Jan 22, 2019 |
OP you're so stupid for this post and it shows are shallow minded you!! JIMI AGBAJE WILL BECOME GOVERNOR AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN. Barondenigeria: Olugbenga Moloney
The March 2019 Governorship elections are fast approaching, with the major contenders in Lagos leaving no stone unturned.
However, having critically examined the electioneering efforts of the candidate of the people's democratic party- Mr. Jimi Agbaje, one is forced to ask if the 61 year old contender is truly trying to be governor or just making subtle moves for a possible federal appointment?
Prior to December the 1st 2018, many Lagosians had questioned the PDPs candidate on the reasons for his seemingly retarded campaign tempo ahead the general elections. His response and i quote was-
“Good morning Lagos, my team and I have gotten a barrage of questions asking why I haven’t been actively campaigning in public and I think it’s about time that we addressed it. “Let’s be clear, the INEC rules guiding this election unequivocally state that campaigning for the 2019 gubernatorial elections shall not begin until the 1st of December, 2018. In their words – not mine – and I quote, “For the purpose of this Act, the period of campaigning in public by every political party (not just candidates) shall commence 90 days before polling day and end 24 hours prior to that day...."Now if that is the rule, then we have no choice but to abide by it...
Now almost 60 days later since INECs nod, it is still hard to be convinced that the PDPs candidate has thrown his hat in the ring just yet. Sadly, his only visible campaign efforts are a dozen tattered posters and vandalized billboards clearly visible on Lagos highways. The reasons why i am convinced beyond reasonable doubt, that the PDPs Lagos Governorship Candidate is headed for defeat at the polls is not farfetched.
~Over-dependence on wayned popularity The 2007 Lagos Governorship elections saw Mr. jimi Agbaje emerge a candidate under the Democratic People's Alliance, after his defection from the Action Congress. After the elections, with his spectacular performance (although not enough to secure him a majority) one would still have expected the vibrant and promising young man then to keep the pace by being vocal and critical of the then Governor of the state. Unfortunately, Mr. Agbaje retreated completely, probably accepting the superior administrative style of Babatunde Fashola. He resurfaced 8 years later to try his luck again, following the expiration of Fashola's tenure; a move which confirmed his conspicuous inferiority.
Hinging his campaign on the wings of his diminished popularity, and failing to judiciously employ the availbale federal advantage his party possessed at the time, he lost again to a political new comer Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. Disappearing again from mainstream Lagos politics for 4 years, the PDP stalwart has resurfaced to wrestle power from the rulling APC, most likely premising his victory on his faded popularity; Mr. Agbaje is about to make the same mistake the third time.
~Disadvantaged tribal appeal
It is not heresay that a large fraction of Nigeria's electorate vote alongside tribal lines. Statistics from past elections have burtressed the trends. Since 2015, many Lagosians of Igbo extraction have thrown their weight openely or tacitly behind Mr. Agbaje. This has indeed angered many indigenous Lagosians who view the Igbos as being overbearing; a once heated scenario which saw the oba of Lagos threatening to drown Igbo Lagosians with mystical powers if they voted against his party The APC.
This unfortunate tribal cold war equally threaten the PDP candidate's chances at the polls.
~Lethargic electioneering effort
Following INEC's opening of the window for official party campaigns, Lagos Governorship candidates like Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi and Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, to mention a few, have taken to the streets to aggressively canvas for votes among Lagosians. From higher institutions in the state, to conferences, expos and concerts; but one candidate has been least seen- Mr. Jimi Agbaje.
His handlers/advisers are either doing a terrible job or deliberately sabotaging his efforts by not drawing his attention to his inert effort.
~General miscalculations
About a week ago, at the Lagos Governorship debate organized by Covenant Christian Center's the platform, the Lagos PDP candidate told the audience and Lagosians at large that he was confident of winning this year's poll, because his 2015 performance was better than his 2007 performance. I like to think that the reason for this assertion is partly connected with the brief topsy-turvy witnessed by the Lagos APC over its decision to drop the incumbent Governor as the party's flag bearer. Such premises will at best be hopeless if the PDPs candidate refuses to trace his steps towards a purpose driven campaign with renewed spirits and intensified efforts. (Assuming time permits him).

So you're saying the itel P51 ISN'T AMONG THEN? hOW VA iscom:
The new Nokia 8 generated much buzz and it debuts on the podium of our Top 10 chart, right ahead of the Nokia 6. With the flagship out, the mid-range model lost a bit of steam and we wouldn’t be surprised to see these two further apart next week.
Only a couple of weeks old, the Lenovo K8 Note continues to rise and this week it was the runner up, behind another 5.5” phone – the Galaxy J7 Pro. Will the dual camera and competitive price allow the K8 Note to reach the top next week? Possible, unless the Nokia 8 overtakes it.
The following three phones on the chart retained their positions, while the last three declined.
We’re due for a big upset next week – the Galaxy Note8 will be unveiled. And the week after that will bring many IFA announcements (among which LG V30), so the new Samsung phablet will have only a short window of time to climb the ladder.

And to avoid scam you can the itel p51 at 3cub ikeja or any of the branded shops shaaaa and than me later tunisbaba: Any day, anytime, it is the best to buy a brand new phone. But what if you can’t afford that mid-range or high-end phone you crave for? Your only option is to hope that one day you see someone (or a vendor) that wants to sell it as fairly used. However, buying fairly used phones in Nigeria can be risky. You don’t know the history of the phone — and the seller may want to use that against you.
In order to get the best deal from fairly used phones, always consider the following five (5) things.
5 Things to Consider When Buying Fairly Used Phones in Nigeria
1. The physical appearance of the phone: Your first consideration when buying a fairly used phone in Nigeria should be the appearance of the phone. You need to check the body of the phone for not only scratches but also rust, which is a sign of liquid damage.
When the seller delivers the phone to you, you should thoroughly check the body of the phone and power it on, to check for screen damage. You should operate the phone (make calls and open apps) and take note of how the screen responds to tap and swipe. A fairly used phone in a good condition shouldn’t lag while operating it and the call quality should be good without background noise.
If you are satisfied with the screen and external body of the body, the next thing you should check is the ports (charging port and headphone jack port). Check the two ports for any sign of rust and use earpiece and charger to test the working condition of the two ports.
Lastly, remove the battery of the phone (if it is removable) and check the terminals for rust. You should also check the battery and make sure it isn’t swelling already.
2. The specifications of the phone: This isn’t applicable only when buying fairly used phones in Nigeria – it is equally applicable when buying new phones. Before you put your money on a fairly used phone, check out the specifications of the phone online.
By doing this, you get to know if the phone is suitable for the main purpose you are buying it for. As a mobile-game lover, the megapixels of the camera mightn’t matter to you; instead, you would be interested in the RAM size, the GPU, and the speed and number of cores of the processor.
3. Ownership of the phone: As we all know, people’s phones are stolen every day – and all these stolen phones end up in the black markets of the fairly used phones in Nigeria. So if you are buying a fairly used phone, especially from individuals, you must ask questions about the ownership of the phone and the reason the phone is put up for sale.
Asking to see the original receipt of the phone is a way to authenticate ownership, and as a rule, if a fairly used phone comes with a security lock (like phone lock, SIM lock or any other locks) don’t buy it and go format or restore to factory settings. Those kinds of fairly used phones are likely to have been stolen.
If the seller is really the owner of the phone, he shouldn’t have forgotten his security codes at the point of sale. Be careful when buying fairly used phones in Nigeria, for most of them are stolen.
4. Scams: When it comes to buying fairly used phones in Nigeria, over the Internet, scams should be a major concern to you. There are some websites in the country that allow users to publish their fairly used phones so that other users come contact them to buy the phones.
This kind of initiative is a good one, but the problem is that scammers are abusing these platforms. We have heard different stories of people losing their money to these scammers claiming to be selling fairly used phones. If you are buying a fairly used phone online, make sure you only pay on delivery. Don’t send any initial payment to the seller, and when you are to meet the seller one-on-one, make sure you are meeting in a public area.
5. Price: This consideration is related to scams. It is true that fairly used phones are expected to be cheaper than to the new one, but when the price is unrealistic cheap, you should be worried. How can someone say she is selling her fairly used iPhone 7 for NGN70,000 and you want to buy it. It is either the phone is stolen or it is a scam.
