Senaxx:Thank you so much. We finally captured today . |
Glowprincess:This is a follow up on my previous post. I went to Ikeja high court for the second time last week and got a "Sworn Affidavit of facts", this states how you met the other parent, story of pregnancy and childbirth, etc. I made my way to the passport office this morning, ready for whatever cos I knew they were still going move mad. As expected, they turned EVERY DIY person away, requesting for new birth certificates that didn't include the LGA in your place of birth. This was more hilarious than annoying, cos to the best of my knowledge, most or almost all birth certificates in Nigeria, has your LGA + State in the Place of birth option. Is this not ment?? Must be ment! In my mind I said "Not today, Satan". Shey it's birth certificate they want, I'll give them. I went through backyard way to get a new birth certificate for my child for N2,000. This one just had the state as place of birth. Chilled for an hour before going back to Servicom office. Again, the data page from your profile also has your town and State option for place of birth. You fill it and it comes out printed with that information, they requested it should only have the State. Why don't y'all just fix that on your website then and totally remove the option of adding the town you were born in? Ment of the highest order again but God pass them. Went to fix that at a cyber cafe. All documents were finally complete and in order by 1pm. Glory to the most high!! They directed me to the children's section, dropped the file there and went to the waiting room. I wasn't called till sometime around 4pm. My child captured and we left sometime around 4:30pm. It was a very long day. If I write about the hostility and toxicity I experienced in that Festac servicom office, I won't finish in a day. Its like once they know you're DIY, there's this instant hatred. There's one woman named Chidinma, light skin with Jerry curl hair. I pray God heals her. That's all I'll say. It's only ironic that servicom should be the office where you lay complaints if you're displeased by their services. But how do I lay my complaint to the problem? |
Glowprincess:This is a follow up on my previous post. Made my way to Ikeja high court last week to get an "Affidavit for single parent" like these people asked me to. I went for capturing today, confident that I had all required documents. This woman at the servicom said "the Affidavit wasn't detailed enough". She proceeded to show me a sample on her phone (which I don't understand why they didn't do initially) and asked me to go and get another Affidavit. I was so mad. Did I trek to Ikeja high court or get the Affidavit for free? I couldn't react cos na dem get power. The Affidavit they need should be very detailed and give an account of your child's birth and many other stories till date. Lol. If I used an agent, I bet I wouldn't be experiencing this. An agent had earlier told me "I would suffer" as a DIY single parent. I thought she was only trying to cajole me into paying her. Now I fully understand what she meant. I will go and get the Affidavit they need. They'll probably request for my head after I provide that. |
JAkpayen:Thank you but I feel the same way a marriage certificate was listed as a requirement, Affidavit should also just be listed for single parents. To save our time and theirs. I bet if I went with an agent, that wouldn't be much of a problem. |
Sharing my DIY experience at the Festac passport office this morning as a single parent. I had previously gone yesterday to open a file as I have seen a couple of people mention here. The lady at servicom said it wasn't necessary. I should come on the day of capturing, which is today to begin the whole process. Got to the passport office by 7am. Waited outside till they let us in by 8am. Proceeded to the waiting hall. Till sometime around 9am when I realised I had to drop my child's appointment slip at servicom to be called. I did that and returned to the waiting room. I was called upon mins later to servicom with others. They asked who was capturing. Stated it was my child. They asked for a marriage certificate, which I don't have as I'm not married. They said "we don't do single mother here". I proceeded to show them the consent letter from her father and his passport data page plus birth certificate with has name as the father of the child. I was asked whose surname the child bares, it's his surname. They still asked if we are married legally or traditionally and if we live together. Answered all in negative. I was told to go to Ikeja high court to swear an "Affidavit for single mother". I left that servicom office embarrassed. I'm home now. |
Pweetiebabe I'm so sorry about your son. May God see you through this trying time |
ahnie:Thanks for the mention ma'am. Am I late? |
