I frankly do not think that any American or British writer is better than a Nigerian writer. No Brit or Yankee speaks or writes English better than I do. If they are your yardsticks, they are not mine. Sorry.

That is why I fly my proudly Nigerian flag everywhere.

You can offer the Yankee guys the job.

It amazes me sometimes; the amount of bullshit a person will swallow/ regurgitate.

English was established as a language CENTURIES before England and Europe made contact with West Africa.

The words you mentioned were already well established and in usage way before they came to Africa.

So please tell me; how the Bleep did they incorporate your language into theirs

The most likely scenario here is that when they landed; the indigenous people then didn't really understand english and so imitated their language......but failed to get the correct wordings.

Think mein; think!!!

even though I don't the authenticity of most of the stuff he posted, I know for certain that some English words have an igbo origin.
Okra originated from Okro which Is an Igbo word.
there are several other words just like it, so get your facts right.

It seems cool,I'll give the pilot episode a watch.

Guykhena:
What's the main storyline the series is trying to drive home? Is it just about her preventing her dad's death or there are other forces in play ?

for now there's just one episode.
we don't really know what force that made the radio to be able to communicate with the past.
also by saving her dad, her present is kinda scattered.

Guykhena:
Oh,like the butterfly effect,nice.
I take it whatever her dad does in the past affects her present, right?

yes

Guykhena:
I read the synopsis of the series and I lost interest considering its about a detective who speaks to her dead Father. It seemed like a generic buddy cop adventure with a llittle bit of horror.
Hearing time-travel now,hmm it might pick my interest,so how does the Time-Travel thing come into play?

the first episode was quite solid. I hope they continue like this.
she is communicating with her dad through an old transmitter radio (I think). her father is in 1996 while she is in 2016.
it's not her father's ghost, just his past self ( her father died in 1996)
when she saves her dad, a flash point kind of stuff happens.
