Top 5 Advantages of Moodle LMS

To understand what is a Learning Management System (LMS), please read our article on What is Learning Management System? at https://edugalleria.com/what-is-lms

About Moodle based Learning Management System (LMS):

There are several types of LMS available, the most popular being a
Moodle based Learning Management System, which is an open source, flexible user-friendly eLearning platform, supported by a global community and with over 68 million users worldwide from all types of organizations.

1. User-friendly Interface

A research conducted by Brandon Hall Group in 2016 showed that about 44% of the companies using an LMS were thinking of replacing them with ones that could provide them with a better user experience. It is very important for an LMS to have a user-friendly interface with self-descriptive navigation features, and a Moodle-based LMS provides just that. The LMS is easy to use, which means you have to invest minimum time on training and learning to familiarize your employees to use it effectively.

2. Moodle is Highly-Flexible, and Feature-Rich

The leading reason why organizations love Moodle is largely because it is configurable, highly-flexible, and feature-rich. On top of being able to modify Moodle’s open source code, there are hundreds of Moodle plugins that allow you to configure Moodle so it performs just the way you like.

3. Blended Learning Features

Besides providing online features, this LMS is able to support offline learning and includes features for tracking, recording and assessing offline events along with online ones.

4. Assessment and Testing with Reporting and Tracking

The Learning Management System can support Online Assignments and Exams as part of the learning process. Besides, it has several flexible testing and assessment features, for example, automatic and manual marking, storing a learner’s complete assessment portfolio etc.

Apart from assessment and testing, Moodle-based LMS includes features to track and record learners’ progress through a learning path.
Besides, it can analyse exam performance and record which learners have completed particular learning items and which ones have not.

5. Cost-effective

If you ask me what is that one thing that makes Moodle popular, I would say that it’s FREE. Yes, you read it right – it’s absolutely FREE. You need not pay any license fee to own a Moodle Learning Management System.

You will only have to pay the development and maintenance costs. Isn’t this great news if you have been planning to invest in an LMS?

So, why not take moodle for a test drive here. Click Here to access demo at https://edugalleria.com/eclass/

Webmasters / Top 10 E-learning Platform Features That Schools Should Look For. by gochi(m): 7:26am On Oct 16, 2020
Thinking about using a e-Learning Platform or Portal or LMS to simplify your company’s training process or manage your eLearning content? An LMS can be a huge asset, but only if you choose the right one! To help you narrow down the options, we’ve compiled a list of the most useful features you should look for in a quality LMS.

1. Ease of Use

What’s the point in investing in an LMS if few people can figure out how to use it? To be worth your while, an LMS must be easy to navigate and customizable to the needs of your organization. The overall experience should be comprehensive to make the learning curve as short as possible.

Another feature that influences usability is the LMS’s data migration process. You likely have plenty of existing data you hope to use with your new investment. To avoid a headache, your new LMS should support many common formats and make the data migration process as easy as possible. At Edu Galleria for instance, we help you migrate all your teachers and students to our e-Learning Platform.

2. Reporting

Tracking progress is of the utmost importance to any LMS. Reporting capabilities should be on the top of your LMS must-have list. By tracking events and participation, in addition to routine assessments, you can see if users are completing the courses they’re enrolled in. You can also track how effective courses are by testing comprehension and retention throughout the course.

3. Functionality

Consider the analytics and features offered by various LMS options. It’s not uncommon to choose an LMS that works like a dream upon initial implementation, but eventually fails to meet changing needs. Make sure any system you’re looking at is scalable. If it can’t grow with your business, it may not be functional in the long term.

4. Accessibility

This should go without saying, but mobile-compatibility is a must for any LMS. The largest perk of eLearning is that it can be accessed anytime, anywhere. This allows users to learn from home rather than taking up class (or company) time. The benefits only reach their full potential if the learning content can be accessed as effectively on a smartphone as on a desktop.

5. Personalized Learning Paths

Another wonderful advantage of online learning is personalization. No learners are the same, so why should their education or training? Personalization can take many forms but, in all cases, it allows users to focus on the areas they most need to improve, rather than wasting time reviewing information they already know. The ability to create personalized learning paths is a useful feature for creating engaging, adaptable courses.

6. Customer Support

When selecting an LMS, good customer support is non-negotiable. How can you provide an ideal learning experience if you can’t get help when something goes wrong? Your eLearning program should have a 24/7 customer service support line, in addition to online help platforms and quick email response times.

7. Security and Privacy

As in everything on the Internet, security and privacy is an issue that cannot be ignored, including the security and privacy of your employees’ eLearning vendors. An LMS system can host personal information such as home addresses, emails, social security numbers, and phone numbers, and vendor should be compliant based on industry standards. Making sure that your LMS also hosts privacy controls, utilizes server locations, and has an automatic backup system in addition to password-protected logins is the first step to keeping your employee records safe from prying eyes.

8. Course Design

Although built-in templates are useful, a key feature to look for in an LMS is course design abilities. The ability to create and format content is a given, but there are other important features that you may want to have at the ready. The option of course feedback, for example, so you can assess how well your course is serving your audience. A good LMS makes it simple to modify and create courses to fit your needs, not its own limitations.

9. Collaboration

Peer-to-peer interactions are highly effective at improving retention and building team skills. Your new LMS should be able to handle these needs by providing options like learning events, group discussion boards, and additional online learning resources.

10. Brand Integration

You’re proud of your brand and for good reason. It tells a story and unites your company with a cohesive theme. To represent your company well, an LMS should enable easy integration of your brand image. Use your own color scheme, layout, and logo to make the LMS yours. An LMS that allows branded content allows you to convey your image clearly through every step of the learning process. materials.
Take Your Time Choosing an LMS

Millennials are more tech-savvy than any generation before them. With millions of them entering higher learning institutions and the workforce, the growth of eLearning isn’t slowing down anytime soon. An LMS can help your educational methods to remain relevant and appealing as consumer expectations change. This list is a great place to start your search. For best results, however, it’s best to assess your business’s unique needs and expectations to select the best LMS to get the job done. At Edu Galleria, we strive to help our customers to transform their company along with their processes, let’s get in touch if you need some help figuring this out. Politics / NYCN Withdraws Award To Kano State Gov. & Buhari's Aide Gen. Paul Boro by gochi(m): 2:30pm On Oct 13, 2016
National Youth Council of Nigeria Withdraws Award given to Kano State Governor and President Buhari's Aide Gen. Paul Borro
...Says NYCN Leadership has no room for Frivolities as they have done nothing to deserve NYCN Honor.
NYCN raises Alarm over plot by Minister Solomon Dalung, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to destabilize the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN has cancelled the award received by the Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and the special adviser on Presidential Amnesty, Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd), saying the awards were unfounded as it never emanated from the headquarters of the NYCN.‎

In a press release issued by the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the NYCN stated that the purported award have been cancelled as such recognition was not from the authentic leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

NYCN went further to say that the Governor of Kano State and the Amnesty Coordinator had performed poorly in their assignments so far and hence not qualified to be honored. The Council raised the issue of growing poverty in Kano and unemployment rate and abuse of drugs by young people in the state, saying the governor has shown the lack of capacity to tackle the menace and therefore cannot be honored by the same youth who he has shown lack of capacity to lead out of their suffering.

The Council also went further to add that the Amnesty program since the emergence of the current coordinator has nose dived into failure and that the youth restiveness and militancy including blowing of pipelines has increased as a result of the lack of capacity by Borro to lead the Amnesty program.

"If Borro and Ganduje had been spending the resources and time they use in pursuing unmerited award from imposters to tackling the growing problem of youth militancy and poverty in the Niger Delta and Kano, Nigeria Would not have gone into deep recession which was caused by lack of capacity by people in govt like the duo, " the statement read.‎

The NYCN President also raised alarm over ongoing plot to undermine and destabilize the leadership of the Council for vowing to remain independent and away from the whims and caprices of people in govt.
It accused the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. David Babachir and the current Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung for abuse of office by supporting the ongoing plot to cause division within the Council by refusing to obey the Judgement of the FCT High Court presided over by Justice Valentine Ashi which declared the Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere led NYCN as the official and authentic body.
"It is saddening that despite the judgement of the court the SGF and the minister of youth are dealing with elements unknown to the laws of the NYCN and in clear contempt of the court in a bid to destroy the organisation," the organ alleged.
It had, however, already instructed it's lawyers to commence criminal contempt proceedings against the SGF and the sports minister.

Business / Re: Starting Up An IT Outsourcing Company by gochi(m): 11:13am On Aug 09, 2007
obabs:

@ gochi

Good to see that there is an already existing IT outsourcing company based in Nigeria. The current project your company is working on is a good one.

Also about the payment part, making payment to a third party, I think that would improve the TRUST issue which is plaguing Nigeria's image. The third party can be a well known bank such as Zenith bank or any other registered bank in Nigeria.

- Do you bid for contracts from outside Nigeria? For example, do you bid for contracts from companies in UK, USA etc?
- Also, does your company comply with international quality standards such as ISO 9000 and SEI-CMM? http://www.offshorexperts.com/index.cfm/fa/articles.ISO9000-and-SEI-CMM-processes-and-standards-for-outsourcing
- Could you also give me the names of other IT outsourcing businesses in Nigeria.

The company bridges the GAP between the coders and the buyers of the software. And it is stated clear that if the coder cannot do the job, he should not even bid at all. Buyers are from any part of the world, no restriction.

Hi Kunz,
kunz:

Does anybody need a male market to help market your product although i live in Abuja but i don't mind travel out of the state to get this marketing job.So if you need my services please feel free to call me on 08033743298

Well let me introduce my company and its services. My company is Technodigital Business Solutions Ltd. We own www.SMSDimensions.com, it's a Full Fledged SMS Gateway. We provide BULK SMS services to corporate organizations needing SMS to communicate and also to integrate SMS capability into their already existing applications or business processes so as to enable business automation and feedback. Event managers and other kind of marketers can use this sms too to relate with customers. Churches can use it also to relate with members for follow up, etc. The sms can also be personalized bearing the persons name and any other custom information required.

Our company also develops custom applications for organizations that are SMS driven. Currently we have developed and automated trigger response sms system where people can subscribe for a service from their mobile phone, and the system will automatically put them into a pull of subscribers and sends them daily sms with very minimal human intervention. The list goes on and on,

We need a market who is creative and who is IT inclined or better still can expand his mind to new possibilities.

The beautiful thing is this, you dont need to be in the same location as the company, if u sell over a certain volume of SMS per month, u get higher incentives and lots more benefits. If u stay in the same location with our company, we will take care of your daily transportation and monthly clothing allowance provided you bring in new clients all the time.

Nice idea!

Have you heard of TBSL (Technodigital Business Solutions Limited). They are a leading IT outsourcing company based in Nigeria. www.tbslng.com, they designed www.SMSDimensions.com, www.alvanlive.com, etc. They are currently putting up an online system of outsourcing for nigerian compananies and nigerian software developers. It's going to be like a bidding system, where companies will place their projects and coders can come and bid for it.
The buyer decides to select the coder of his choice and he makes payment to a third party for security of funds, bla, bla, bla, and the coder swings into action. once the project is completed within the stipulated time frame, the buyer tests the product and rates the coder.

Well, i dont know how this system will work in nigeria, but i hear it is already used in places like india.

what do u think.

Hello all

u dont have to go through all that process to get your own .com.ng domain names. It's easy and you can get it in 24hrs. your company Local presence is required.

Registration is for 2 yrs minimum

Registration: $300
optional
5 mail boxe +$30
20 mail boxes +$80
1 yr business hosting +$200 dollars

if u dont wont the hosting and u already have a webhost, i will redirect the url to your existing domain name. else u have to wait for 2 months to transfer the domain to ur registrar (that's the standard time it takes to transfer a newly registered domain name to another registrar).

Process: pay the money into a dom account so it can be used to transfer funds to the registrar (takes at least 2 days to complete). Then the account can be paid for and that's it you have yoursite.com.ng domain which is premium.

Business / Re: I Need Advice On How To Start Dealing In Stocks by gochi(m): 8:44pm On Jul 02, 2007
@izidor
well like i explained earlier, availability of the share also matters. Dont be so FAST! First things first. First get a broker and open an account with him, secondly deposit funds into ur broker's account, then start watching the stocks with him, tell him the stocks u want to buy so he can start checking each day for its availability. (note: your stock broker may not be the rep of his broking firm on the NSE floor) it may be someone else in the firm. But once that person is on the floor not even his fellow broker outside the floor can contact him. So any communication must be done before and after trading, the brokers outside the floor do not even know the floor price fluctuations which makes for a better purchasing decision. Only the broker on the floor can do this. Dont be scared; when u make a decision, just tell ur broker and he'll communicate to the person who will go to the floor before trading commences.

Even when u deposit ur 1m, the volume of stock available may not be up to what 1m can buy, in other words u'll still have change, so ur broker can make another choice for you or u make ur own choice of another share. so for ur 1m to get exhausted buying shares, it depends on availability of that share on the floor.

Soon i will be able to provide some facts such as charts and graphs for users of nairaland to be able to analyze previous performances and follow trends so they can make good judgements.

As for FOOTWEAR, i made my research: for now they are not very good to buy considering that there are government policies that do not encourage the growth of the shoe industry.

JUST TRY THIS: Go to ur office or your house or anywhere and count the number of people wearing made in Nigerian Shoes. grin grin grin See what i mean. So until there are government policies to barn imported shoes, then the shoe industry is good to look at.

Try COSTUDYINS, they may still be available, also try STACO. These are gainers for insurance sector and will be for a while. Go for STACO before it becomes scarce.

For BAnking sector: here's my analysis for diamond bank from 4th june (13.62) - 2nd july(20.92): they grew about 54% in 1month. And the speculation is that they'll grow upto 100% by Dec. so if u can put some of your 1m into this.

@CrazyT

Yes bank stocks are going down, bu they will still rize. but more potential are in the bank shares bellow 15-10 naira.

As for ur stock broker, it's possible that he's not doing his job, but its also possible that there may not be available buyers for the shares u want him to sell or the company doesnt appear frequently on the market. so it may not be his fault - but a good stock broker should tell his clients the situation.

As for footwear visit www.punchng.com and download the days trading summary. you'll find something similar (not exactly) to this about footwear:

LClose Open High Low Close Change Trades Volume Value
0.67 0.70 0.70 0.70 0.70 0.03 1 35,000 24,500.00

Analysis: look at their volumes are not so high so u can possibly buy larger than 35,000 (that's if up to that is available for sale on that day). but if u can deposit funds with ur stock broker and give him a mandate to buy as soon as a reasonable volume is available. I see potential in them. That's all i can say for now. I'll make my own analysis and find out about the company.
Business / Re: I Need Advice On How To Start Dealing In Stocks by gochi(m): 1:57pm On Jun 30, 2007
yes its likely that Ecobank Will Double Yo Money In A Year.

Also some insurance stocks are scarce now but i'm expecting some of them to be available soon. As soon as I get a pick i'll let u know.

If u have 50k to invest in stocks that's cool (but not soooooo cool). But you can start from their but if u want to grow with that kind of investment then u have to not be the GUY WHO WANTS TO GET RICH QUICK. I mean u have to have a strategy.

Like someone said, you dont need to go to HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL to learn the stock game. Even a 13 yr old can trade on stocks and be wealthy.

If the Nigerian stock market doesnt get saturated by the time my son is 13 i'll make sure that when he's 16 he'll be a MULTI only by trading stocks. grin grin grin

ok Here's another piece of information. For daily quotes of stock prices goto www.cscsnigeria.com, you'll find top gainers and top loosers. Remember that the NSE trades only from 10 AM - 2 PM MON - FRI

For a more concrete stock report goto www.punchng.com, scroll down by the right pane and download the daily stock report. Its a word document, it is very explicit.

Also there are software tools that aid in my analysis too.

Hello its Gochi.
Well, if you are talking about buying in secondary market you have to buy low and sell when it goes up. but there are several factors like i have explained earlier. you look at "small cap" stocks. my friend the truth is this: dont be moved by BIG NAMES everybody will say it is a BIG COMPANY so it is good to buy, have u asked "everybody" why have they not made millions with their little investments.

EG. i invested 240k 4months ago on WAPIC in the secondary market, right now it has grown over 400% i'm not kidding, that time it was a "small cap" stock and people did not look at it but now people are looking at it and are rushing to buy so the price is on the increase. but i cant keep waiting until it goes hay wire coz the market is volatile. i can decide to sell now or sell later but the point is this if i decide to sell now i'll make close to 1million bucks and since i have info about the market i will look for another small cap stock to put my close to 1 million bucks into which will give me another 300 - 400% gain.

you see be BIG STOCKS do not have that potential, they only rise slowly. EG. i studied a stock this month - unbelievable in 2 weeks they grew by 200% i'm not kidding. I PUT MY HAND ON MY HEAD AND SAID I SHOULD HAVE INVESTED EARLIER, BUT NOT TOO LATE FOR ME THEY ARE STILL LIKE 3 NAIRA. I intend to buy next week before they hit 5 naira.

So its up to you to buy and sell or keep your stocks but keeping you stocks is not always the best option.

Hi, it depends on how u want to trade. do u want to trade in the primary or secondary market. primary market is when you buy from public offers. Like what seun said, if you have big money you can invest and hold your investment for a long time, but there are factors involved like you have to be sure that the company you are investing in is going to be very profitable after a very long time. the disadvantage of this market is that when u buy from the public offer you are not the "legal" owner of the shares until you have your share certificate, and when u get it selling is not such an easy process as you have to convert you certificate first. this usually takes long depending on the registrar.

But if you want to make money easily and fast ( not so fast - but fast) you can invest in the secodary market, meaning you can buy from a stock broker (people are ignorant about stock brokers that's y they say they charge big money, well a good stock broker will only charge you 2.5% when u make profits in order words when you sell your shares) that's not much considering that they manage ur portfolio for you.

Now down to investing: the best companies to invest are the small cap stocks - that means stocks that have high trading volumes but are less than 10 or 5 naira. These stocks have the potential to grow a 100% more than the stocks that are 30-60 naira. Simple logic: it is easier for you to increase to 4 from 2 than for you to increase to 60 from 30. both are still 100% increase. I have facts to prove this. Secondly if you have 100k and u buy a stock worth 60 naira you can only buy 1666.67 volumes of that share, but if you have 100k and you buy a stock worth 3 naira you can buy 33,333.33 volumes of that share. if the later increases by 3 naira and the former increases by 3 naira, tell me from your own logic which increased by 100% and which made more money for you. This is the secret that lots of NIGERIAN are not aware of in the stock market - they mostly buy BIG NAMES they forget that for you to make money with the BIG NAMES you have to play REAL BIG TOO.

Well i can still give u more info, hope this enlightened you and all nairalanders who are stock traders and who want to start trading stocks.

wink
