My interview was @ the Lagos consular on the 5th of August, it went well thanks to you guys and God almighty. this was how it went:
Vo: Gud morning
Me: Gud morning
Vo: passport pls, purpose of your trip
Me: to attend a seminar
Vo: what's the seminar about
Me: I told him
Vo: where do u work
Me: told him plus my position
Vo: how do u earn
Me: 245k
Vo: are u married
Me: yes for 8 years
Vo: u got kids
Me: yes, 4 kids
Vo: does your wife work
Me: yes, she does bla bla business
Vo: have traveled out before
Me: yes, just to the UK twice
Vo: I think am ok with you. Pick up your visa at this location (he circled it on the white paper)

The whole thing was less than 2 minutes, the only document I went with were the payment receipt, ds160 form, and appointment confirmation. The guy self didn't ask for any document, cos from my first experience last year when I was refused (then I went with loads of document)

The followings was how I prepared.
1. I got my UK visa renewed for 6 months, traveled to the UK for 14 days in April.
2. I applied for a seminar (3 days) that very much relevant to my job
3. Filled the ds160 form with complete reference to the one I filled last year.
4. Read all the U.S. Visa post on Nairaland, this really built me up.
5. Prayed and fasted for favour
6. Went for the interview with so much confidence but not desperate. Even as I focused my eyes on the VO, the guy didn't even look at me, he was just staring at his system.

@sexydivaomalic, either u acept wit me or not,d real life truth is dat a lot of people hav got dere visa at u.s embassy by inclusion of Ghana in their travel experience,we hav a lot of gud example of such transcripts on dis forum,weda ghana is visa free or not it wont stop people from goin 2 ghana an it wont stop u.s frm recognising it,moreover evrybody luvs easy tin,peace

@ummaubadire,in ur case after two denials,its gud if dere is drastic change in ur social economy b4 u reapply third time,or is else is not gub 2 reapply irrespectives of whoever dat invite u,peace 2 all

@fabiyi78 i wil advice u not 2 try any dubious means 2 get 2 u.s,cos dose dat did it dey were deported at d port of entry,wat u wil do is 2 patiently go trough d normal process,apply as tourist ,we ar here 2 guide u,u need 2 build travel history as a tourist,we ar organising a group wekend tour trip 2 ghana,if u dont mind 2 join us,it wil b a travel experience 4 u,peace 2 all

@bbluv,first step ask ur broda 2 send u i.v, the second step is google 4 ds160 an start filling it gradually,mak sure u save ur work in case u ar unable 2 finish it,then record ur ds160 no cos u wil use it 2 book ur apointment,third step go 2 us apointment site 2 create ur accout so dat u can book appointment,tak d followin document wit u 4 ur interview,ds160 confirmation page,apointment confirmation page,i.v leter,leave letter,6month bank acount,payslip 6month,weding certificate,peace

Thank you to all those that have reponded to my questions so far.I have one more question.I want to fill another DS160 form (I have filled one already and submitted) :cos I want to change my intended date of arrival on the form as a result of not been able to get the desired date.I have not scheduled my appointment yet /or submitted the form but I have filled the form completely just to submit and pick a date.My concern here is it ok to fill another DS160 form and ditch the first one ?also is it possible to edit the appointment scheduling platform with the new numbers generated from filling a new DS160 form as I have not submitted my appointment form yet?

@vickero,dere is no harm to filled anoda ds160,yes u can edit d old ds160 confirmation no,just click schedule new appointment in ur account it wil lead u 2 step5 where u wil delete d old no and put d new no,its well

Hello guys ,this appointment scheduling thing na wahala ooo..if one is not careful.I created a profile on the appointment platform but realised I had mistakenly typed in my previous passport number instead of the new passport number.Though I have not booked an appointment or submitted it yet,but the portal would not allow me change the passport number.I have malied lagosNIV and I was asked to send a mail to ustraveldocs,I have sent the mail and its taking forever to respond and appointment dates have started flying into october already( I am intending to travel late august or early september).My thought here is maybe I shld go ahead and schedule my appointment with the mistake and secure a date first then mail them to correct the mistake on the passport number later,cos am afraid that by the time they attend to me dis thing would get to november ooo.

@vickero in other not 2 wast ur time,if u hav not pay ur visa fees on d old pasport no,dis is wat u wil do,use ur second email 2 creat a new account wit ur new pasport no an go ahead 2 book ur appointment,i hav done it b4 an it works,peace 2 d forum

@lizzylilly,i feel ur pain,but its well in jesus name,my kindly peice of advice is apply with ur husband in ur next application,dis mak d vo believe dat since u hav no family in u.s,ur husband wil b there 4 u during ur delivery, 1luv and peace b unto evrybody in d house and ladyG ur queen.

@loladeowoeye5, i hav told u dat d best way u can filled ds160 is to mak sure u save it stage by stage so dat u can correct any mistake u made at any stage,save ur ds160 will allow u 2 contineu ur work frm where ever u stopped in case u cant finished d filling in a day and it wil allow u 2 edit any mistake u made,4 example i hav been assisting a friend 2 fill is ds160 4 d past 2months now an each tim wil realised mistake we edit it,we were able 2 edit just cos we hav not submitted ds160,dont rush 2 submit ds160 cos u can realise mistake at anytim,meanwy u can submit ds160 aday or 2days to ur interview or wen u full sure of mistake free,its well 1 luv 2 evry1 in d house

@landmark225 in ur ds160 u wil get 2 where u wil put ur schol,just put d nam of ur uni an d year u wil finished,if they ask u durin ur interview den u answer yes,they may not ask,dont 4get dat i ask u 2 read second post in page 274 do wat i said there so dat u can get d last tin dat u stil lack an u need 2 get it b4 u goin 4 interview,ur success is sure

I am an engineering student students in Germany and willing to travel for a social conference in USA.

The conference is taking place next year February 2016, can I apply for visa from now?

The home ties issue has been my major concern as well ,so am thinking of going back home to apply in Nigeria since I can easily still package my docs more with some properties docs that won't be useful here.....land and stuffs, though I work with a renewable contract of 1year but not professional job.

Do you think I should just apply through here.?


Moreso, is it necessary to add travel flight itenary and hotels docs (not paid please) to it ? because the conference is taking place in an hotel and the host have not open the portal for attendees to register for accommodations.

Ps- most of us believe going to US can be easy from Europe sometimes but a friend got rejected a tourist visa from here some months ago, but I think studentship proof is sufficient for ties in the country of residence.

@usa84,firstly u ar to apply from ur home country of birth,secondly u ar to apply 3months to ur programm,apply now could giv d vo anoda meanin which could result 2 denial,but u can start d filling of ds160 from now and book ur interview date to december,dat wil b 2months 2 ur program wich is o.k,its well

Please I want to ask about bank statement for interview, is it compulsory to print from 6months . Because just 3 months is 103 pages am sacred it might be too much if i print like 250 pages for the VO.
