Pls @ WORRY359 And other guru in d house i need ur advice, my wife want 2 apply 4 uk and her salary is ben paid to ur joint account,d name of d accout is adebayo yetunde michael,while d name on her passport is adebayo yetunde modupe,but i am d sponsor,my acc. Name is. Adebayo michael haruna. Can she submit ur joint account where her salary is ben paid alone wit my statment of account as d sponsor? Tanks

3. He is a contractor and the govenmnt usually pay him in huge lumps..so will this still be a probelm or waiting 28 days can help.

Take whatever I tell you here. Getting a UK visa is no rocket science. If your finances doesn't look healthy. Forget it. You'll be refused a visa.

Definitely YES. But why are you bothered about a refusal stamp?

NOTE: Refusal stamps on a passport is not an obstacle and it doesn't mean one will not be issued a UK or any other country's visa on same passport once your reason for travel is genuine.

Cleaning a refusal stamp could easily be detected by any embassy and the aftermath is a ban

@lawyer,but my visa was refused at victoria vac in febuary dis year an my pasport was not stamp,i want 2 no mayb dey just started it dat was wy i ask.

i am a university student in my final year(first semester), i want to travel to the uk for Christmas to visit my uncle, i applied in july but was refused on the basis that i had an unusual amount of money by step dad sponsoring me had deposited the day he was to print the bank statement for me.
please my question is:
1. can i apply during my final year and be successful if all requirements are being fulfilled?
2. what are my chances of getting the Visa in my final year
3. Read about the 28-day rule about the bank statement but clearly did not understand it so if explained better, would be glad.

@kaverd,which uk vac were u refused ikeja or victoria? Do dey put refusal stamp at d back of ur passport? 2). u can apply after six months wen d unusual deposit wil no longer appeal on d sponsor statment acc.

I got an invite for my cousin's wedding in May and I booked an appointment in June for today.I was at the US embassy in Lagos for my interview and am so grateful to God and you guys that I was granted the VISA.
I did not use an agent, have never traveled out of Nigeria before,my take home salary is just 100k and am single.
From my experience today, I think all you need at the US embassy is your confidence, the VO did not asked me for any document not even the wedding invitation.

My interview was for 8am thou I got there 5 mins after cos of the traffic.

Here is my transcript:

Me: With my charming smile I said Hello, good morning
VO: Good morning, please let me have your passport
Me: I gave it to him with my data page
VO: where are you going in the Us?
Me: .......in Georgia for my Cousin's wedding
VO: types on his system
VO: Please your finger prints
Me: I did that
VO: You are going for whose wedding?
Me: My cousin's
VO: Have you ever traveled out of the country?
Me: with a smile I said "No, its gonna be my first time"
VO: Where do you work?
Me: I work as ....... in ......company
note I earn 100k which I stated in my form but I didnt mention that to him, am sure he must have seen it on his system cos he kept on typing and looking at his system
VO: How long have you been working with this firm?
Me: one and half yrs
VO: How many weeks are you staying in the US
Me: 3 weeks
VO: Are you married?
Me: with a smile I told him am single but engaged (I had an engagement ring on my fourth finger)
VO: kept on typing and then said I have approved your visa, please pick up your passport on Monday.

I am so happy, thank you all.

I had my interview last week and it was a breeze! I have studied the forum from last year december till d very moment of my interview. And it really saved me from dashing out my money to an agent.

Though I panicked when I made an error on my DS160 but God took control and it was rectified on time.

she has a travel history to US from way back 1980 and passport was stolen 1990
when i was filling her ds160 form, the travel history part asked for the old passport # etc. mum gave me a 7digit passport #. how can i confirm if this old passport # is right. (dont want VO accesssing it during interview & it crops up another person's details oooo.. do they check?)

2. she does business, sells drinks.. i stated on ds160 she is into business & a question there asks for monthly income. how do i determine this... should the answer be monthly turnover or her monthly profit

3. our applications are seperate. though we might travel together ONLY IF her business permits. i put in mine am travelling alone. should she put she is travelling alone in hers or with me..NOTE: am the sponsor. but our interview dates are 3weeks apart and we r going to different states

@pinkup15 firstly dont boda about d old pasport,is posible dey may not ask cos dey hav no tim,if dey ask mama shud tel dem dere no record 4 d old pasport,2, state d monthly income,3,put it dat u ar travel wit mama cos u ar d sponsor,vise vasa,an if dey ask tell dem u hav seperate date 4 ur interview,peace

My wife has applied like twice but was denied. Should I apply for the children alone and letter apply for my wife or they all apply togeda. She didn't want them to deny the children because of previous denial. No serious reason for denial just that they are not convinced about the conference she is attending. What documents did they actually need from me if they are all going to apply togeda.

Goddey1975 this thread is not a medium to advertise your ghana trip, valleyofpeace made mention that he was asked to try again afta few years, instead of you to ask if he has applied in d past b4 dat maybe somthing went wrong, you concluded it was cause of lack of travel history. If we talk too much now, na so u go bring baba God into the matter. Prophet of God no derail the thread with your ghana trip.

@iblaw as at 2day d appointment date at lagos post is 29th sep while Abuja is mid Oct. 2,its ok 2 apply 4 us visa from now 4 December trip,finaly dis is wat u wil do fill ur ds160 and book ur appointment date 2 wen u wil return,so dat u can meet ur dec trip,cos d appointment date in lagos an abuja were faster dan plane.peace
