kindly assist with a word i have been trying to remember but i simply can't get it now.

Another word for someone who believes or supports blindly someone who must have done something wrong by having pity for them. By just vouching for them because of tears they shed or pity.

Please note that this word is not Sympathy or Emphaty. But my i think it starts from letter 's' i may be wrong tho.
