Nwadiuto247:Which historical facts and which silly politics? You people cry of marginalization because of you sentimental and hateful politics you play and when it comes back hurting you, you wail like ORO. See, you are about committing another political suicide that will come to haunt you but your hatred won't allow you to see. Let us just her any Biafla or death after this election: you'll be made to drink muddy water. |
Turantula:So I am a Yoruba Muslim abi? Don't worry you'll soon be sent to your potor land to go drink muddy water again. |
Jman06:And we can't remember how you were raising a dust, threatening that Igbos would boycott the election and PDP would lose the if Atiku did not pick his vice from your region? Also, is it not because you think you have a chance of producing the next Vice President and potentially the president in either 2023 or 2027 that your erstwhile hero, Nnamdi Kanu has now become your sworn enemy because he's telling his followers to boycott the election on Saturday, which would certainly harm PDP? You see, you guys are just senseless hypocrites who criticize and condemn Yorubas for supporting their own and their interests while you do same if not more. My own is that we must not hear any Biafla or death after this election because you are certain to lose again as always. Yorubas wll not abadon their son and interest. Omo eni ko se'di bebere ki a fi ileke si idi omo elomiran. |
Oyimeoyimemua:So, because you people are involved now, we should not tribalise the issue abi? Hypocrites. |
The forthcoming presidential election is set to be a straight fight between APC and PDP – no doubt! With a *Buhari/Osinbajo* (APC) ticket in one party and an *Atiku/Obi* (PDP) ticket on the other, my question is to the Yoruba nation about our collective good or collective interest as a group. This is not the time to be shy or try to be holier than thou. Under all sorts of pretences, every group is presently trying to look after themselves. Don’t just be deceived as we don’t have that United Nigeria yet. This is our present reality in Nigeria until it changes – hopefully in the future. Both Atiku and Buhari are Fulani Muslims. Whether it is an Atiku or a Buhari Presidency, the north wins. Abi? The North is already settled! If Atiku wins, another Hausa/ Fulani cabal will emerge and ‘cage’ him. Cabal is not exclusive to Buhari. Cabal is an English word! Whether Buhari or Atiku, the same ni! Oko eru Fulani la wa! Make no mistake about that! We are still under the same Hausa/Fulani oligarchy and hegemony! So both Osinbajo and Obi are southern Christians and both probably Pentecostal or at least Christians. There is no contest of religion in this case at all. That makes things more simple and straightforward. The competition is really going to be between South West and South East. I am guessing the South East will massively vote for their own – so PDP! No second-guessing that! You can’t blame them as they’ve always voted PDP anyway. So please reflect carefully and answer me sincerely as a Yoruba. 1. Which ticket; APC or PDP serves the Yoruba nation better under the current situation? 2. What would be the compelling reason to support a ticket that not only disadvantages but also excludes your own group completely? I personally cannot remember a time in history when the South East collective vote has benefitted the South West. I stand to be corrected!!! As popular as June 12, 1993 mandate given to our dear MKO, whose life was later sacrificed for this democracy was, South East didn’t vote for him then. He won in only 1 state of old Anambra. He lost the other 3 states then who voted massively for the relatively unknown Tofa. Let’s face it, the next presidential election is a straight contest between Yoruba and Igbo. My Yoruba brothers and sisters, let us not, in the name of political sophistication, manoeuvre ourselves into a position of weakness in the political scheme of Nigeria. There is no Yoruba face on the Atiku/Obi ticket! Period! That doesn’t portend any good for us Yoruba! Simple! Yoruba will be excluded, marginalised and sidelined into oblivion in an Atiku/Obi presidency (God forbid!). I plead with Yoruba sons and daughters to massively vote for OSINBAJO, the best vice president we have ever had, a grandson in- law to our beloved and revered father, Obafemi Awolowo- the best president Nigeria never had. Remember Baba Awolowo and do what is right. Osinbajo is a son we should be proud of. He has represented us well so far and will continue to do so, by the grace of God! He is one of our best! He is sound, with impeccable integrity; erudite and articulate! He will continue to make up for Buhari’s lapses, shortcomings, old age, sickness, Baba-go-slow, etc, while also protecting Yoruba interests. We need to have our own man in the room please. Please let us vote wisely. Time to drop any emotional attachment to PDP is now. God bless you. *Note: Please share this write-up with your Yoruba contacts home and abroad. Engage in meaningful brainstorming with Yoruba interests in mind and convince yourselves fairly as you make a decision. NIGERIA IS NOT YET A COUNTRY, unfortunately! Maybe it will ever be, no one knows. In the meantime, we have to make do with whatever Nigeria is while protecting our interests carefully! Oodua a gbe wa o!* |
“For the records, Chief Obasanjo has addressed the issues of the power sector and the allegations against him on many occasions and platforms, including in his widely publicised book, “My Watch” in which he exhaustively stated the facts and reproduced various reports by both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which conducted a clinical investigation into the allegations against Chief Obasanjo, and the Ad-Hoc Committee on the Review of the Recommendations in the Report of the Committee on Power on the Investigation into how the Huge Sums Of Money was Spent on Power Generation, Transmission And Distribution between June 1999 and May 2007 without Commensurate Result. “”We recommend that the President and his co-travellers should read Chapters 41, 42, 43 and 47 of My Watch for Chief Obasanjo’s insights and perspectives on the power sector and indeed what transpired when the allegation of $16 billion on power projects was previously made. “If he cannot read the three-volume book, he should detail his aides to do so and summarise the chapters in a language that he will easily understand. Should we also look into the same book, "My Watch" and read up the kind of character Atiku is? If Baba OBJ is referring us to his book to get GENUINE details and believe whatever it says, maybe we should do same with Atiku. |

There are already indications that this 2019 general election, especially the presidential election promises to be the most keenly contested election since the return to democratic governance in 1999 and susceptible to post-election-crisis. Unlike the former elections, with the exception of 2015, the two major contenders, that is, Buhari and Atiku are from the same region, same religion and same ethnicity. Added to this is the fact that the two candidates are representing the two biggest and most popular political parties whose representation cut across the length and breadth of the country. But what might actually be a source of crisis is how the two contenders, Buhari and Atiku have been pulling unprecedented crowd in all of their rallies (though it is believed most of the crowds are rented). The pulling of crowd has become a prominent phenomenon in this 2019 election campaigns that it has taken the place of presenting party’s manifesto to the voters. They believe the size of crowd they see at their rallies indicates their popularity and acceptance. This “pulling of crowd” has created false impression among their followers that they are certain that that their candidates must win the election. Hopes are raised, expectations are high. But these hopes and expectations are built on nothing but falsehood because huge crowds at rallies do not necessarily translate to huge voters support since the same crowd show up at all rallies because they are paid. Now, what will happen with the help of social media is that many people will be acutely disappointed and unable to believe it when the result of the election is announced and their candidates, whom they have expected to coast home victory lost the election. There will be so much anger that will catalyze to violence. Mark my word, this country may not remain the same again after this election except some preemptive measures are taken to forestall it. |
In my own opinion, d enemy of Ndigbo is Ndigbo itself. I remember a time in
this country when all d 6 ministers in Jonathan's kitchen cabinet were all
Igbo's. Ayim Pius Ayim was SGF, Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla was in charge finance,
Emeka Wogu was in Labour and productivity, Berth Nnaji was in Power and
Energy, Dieziani Madueke was d powerful minister for oil. The 6 of them outside
d Federal Executive Council would meet and decide what and what not to be
discussed at d larger FEC. Whatever they decided would eventually be d position
of government. In 6 years, this was d situation. Okiro and Onovo had d police
under their control. Ihejerika and later Minimah controlled d Army. These
powerful Igbo's could do and undo. Nigeria was in their pockets.
Rather than care about d poor Igbo chaps scattered all over d country, they
were busy diverting billions of naira into their accounts at home and abroad. D
2nd Niger Bridge, they didn't do. They shared d money. The Lagos/Calabar rail
lines passing through 9 States, 3 of them in d SE, they were not bothered. They
refused to pay d Chinese d Counter part fund. They shared d money. Enugu/
Onitsha, Aba/PH and other roads of economic importance to their fellow Igbo's,
they abandoned.
Who is to blame? Who is marginalising d Igbo's?
You had your chance, you bungled it. There was only 1 Yoruba minister worth
mentioning at d time, Akinwunmi Adesina. He was in Agric. His budget was less
than 1% while Emeka Wogu in Labor had over 10% for his ministry, Ayim had
unlimited access to d treasury for d benefit of himself and family members. The
poor Igbo guys meant nothing to him. If an Igbo becomes President tomorrow
after Jonathan, will there be any difference? The Igbo man will
marginalise his fellow Igbo people. CREDIT: The Ohaneze Ndigbo President |
