ceasare: NIOB is the body for d regulation of building practice and practioners in nigeria.they enact laws n policy that regulate d practice to ensure that builders gt their rightful place in d built industry just that our govt have not been so proactive to implement NIOB policies as rgds building comstruction and practice and where enforced limited oversite is the other of the day thats y u see quacks practising d proffession and resultant building collapse.
I must congratulate you that you are on a right career path as u can practice your proffession after schooling just like most built environment courses.

Thank you very much sir, for the detailed explanation. I was actually considering becoming a student member of the NIOB but I really did not have a clear picture of what NIOB was really about. I guess it wouldn't be much of a benefit for me since there are no proper measures for the regulation of buildings in Nigeria at the moment.

@am just me,why would u wnt 2 switch career? Anybody that studied any of the courses in d built environment can successfully practise without waiting for paid employmnt like bankers etc so you can reconsider ur earier stance as u r on d right career path trust me.
@ all contributors to d thread i believe proff courses like PMI & other certifications will go a: long way in boosting career growth than
perceive higher qualifications like Msc xcpt u wnt 2 tow d acafemic lines as d industry is more of your ability 2 deliver than paper qualifications.my own 20cent.cheers

If ur transcript is available nw, go ahead and submit it. U should also go and submit a copy of ur DE slip, O' level result and statement of result to Unilag (if u hav not submitted already).
What course are you applying for? Are you an ND or NCE holder?

Asup strike has not been called off o! I heard a meeting is scheduled on the 24th of this month between Asup and the federal govt .I hope it yields a positive result.
I'm still on I.T and it's very demanding. I can't wait to be done with it.

I can feel a burning sensation on dis thread, as a result of very hot questions emanating from different directions (up, down, left, right and center)! *runs to turn on the air conditioner*

I perceive most of us here make very good guesses when it comes to English Language, hence we don't feel the need to study English like we study other subjects. #no offence#. Let us make haste in getting those textbooks recommended so that guessing wld soon become a thing of the past.

I think we should also make effort in verifying the authenticity of the corrections posted on here, as that will help us to better understand what rule was applied in arriving at a particular answer. #my 2 cents#

No in base two should be from 0-2, No in base three= 0,1,2.
Meaning the highest number in base X= x-1.
I said 1234 in base 3
already i have gone wrong with the rule, no in base 3 should not be bigger than 2 and here we have 3 and 4. Its just a question to test how careful we are in answerin questions

I was told by a lecturer that the non-academic staff members of federal polytechnics are also on strike.
I went to submit my credentials in unilag yesterday but I was told to return on the first week of August. Only the faculty of education has started collecting credentials 4rm DE aspirants.
The transcript should be sent in before the first admission list is released and should be followed up to ensure it is kept in the appropriate file.

I'm applying to study BUILDING, in the faculty of environmental sciences.

1. five credits including english at not more than 1 sitting from SSCE or GCE

2 HND,NCE or OND in the programme to be undertaken
3.selection will comprise of candidates' certificates and direct entry screening result.

4. an acceptable score will be required for participation in screening exercise.

In subsequent years, DE applicants were offered admission based on their meritorious performances in d respective institutions they are applying 4rm.

I don't know if their is any deadline for the submission of transcripts, bt I intend to forward mine as soon as the ASUP strike is called off.

It solely depends on how swift your school can go about d processing. The duration in which transcripts are processed in schools vary. Try 2 find out from ur school's record and data unit on how fast ur transcript will get 2 d skul of ur choice, then u can decide 4 urself wen 2 start processing it. Thanks!

do dey issue transcript by hand in ur skul? Hav u applied 4 d transcript? Futa takes dis transcript issue seriously. So i'll suggest u seek info 4rm ur skul admin unit if ur notification of result can stand 4 a transcript. My own notification of result only states my cgpa and certifies dat i successfully completed my ND.
