flokii:did you say so during Jonathan government or you suddenly gain your voice since Tinubu, the drug lord and mandate snatcher came on board? |
This thing we joke about is actually a serious issue. This is how these guys change to Igbo names and use it to fuel bigotry and hatred. In their minds they are cashing out but by their very hands they are causing more damage than they can imagine. Tomorrow they will raise their hands in the air 🙌🏾 claiming innocence. When Igbos complain of hatred people try to gaslight them. Thank God for social media has shrunken the Nigerian political space to a small global village and exposed what has been going on for years. The institutionalized bigotry and state-sponsored hatred against Igbos. I pray and hope Nigeria does not slide into an ethnic civil war again cos this time it will be bloody. Most of these little children aiding this nonsense have never experienced war or its aftermath effects because the last civil war was happening and the whole of Nigeria was carrying on business as usual. Should we slide into such again, it will be happening everywhere simultaneously and maybe by then we will all have sense.

Zony94:abeg keep that nonsense to yourself. Adeboye is a satanist, evil and money monger. He won't make heaven. Thief |
I will prefer we in southern Benue ( idomas) to join the south eastern region. We have a good relationship with enugu in the border and Igbos in general. More so, south east has gas, they will be richer than the south south coupled with industrialization, science and technology, trade and commerce. I even love east more than North, this is because, there won't be religious war like the way north east and north west are accustomed to. They are christians like we, they dont kill in the name of god. |
yemmit90:says who? Both the off shore and onshore revenues belong to the Niger Delta. You can argue that if you want. Every region must control its resources. Anything short of that is not regionalism |
God will soon answer our prayers. |
Yoruba people have destroyed this country, what a time we find ourselves in this country. God will not forgive Tinubu. It will never be well with Tinubu and APC |
Ugoc3:lol, |
The consequences of the election are clear, as Nigerians who voted for Tinubu can now see the state of the country It is heart-wrenching to hear about the difficult situations that many Nigerians are currently facing. Seriously, Nigerians are going through hard times. A married friend of mine has taken his two kids as house help in another town, he can't keep up with feeding On Monday, a lady in our salon is now doing hookup to survive, she openly told us that times are hard, her family must feed In wadata, large numbers of hausa kids are now in every street with rubber plate, begging for food. There numbers are shocking. Much more than it used to be I met a guy is railway market on Monday, using his under-aged handicap boy to carry goods,I inquired why will this small handicap boy be doing this, his father told me to my face, country de hard, no food for house, work na work. |

The organization I worked for was an NGO, but unfortunately, the Executive Director (ED) lacked understanding of his role. Our Program Manager acted as though he was a god, exerting control over everything and everyone in a toxic and arrogant manner. Prior to my arrival, five other staff members had already left due to the toxic work environment. The Program Officer/Manager constantly complained about me and even accused me of being a threat. The final straw came when an external auditor came to audit the organization. As the accountant, I was responsible for keeping records, preparing the final report, performing bank reconciliations, managing assets, and other tedious tasks. However, the Program Officer began manipulating figures and tampering with the final report. When questioned by the auditors, he shifted the blame onto me, with the ED always supporting him. On the day that salaries were meant to be paid, I left in frustration and turned to remote work instead. Today, I am grateful to be in a happier and more fulfilling work environment. |
The Nigerian naira has been experiencing a decline in value against the US dollar in recent years, but the situation may worsen as the country's long-awaited PH oil refinery project fails to start. The development of the largest oil refinery in Nigeria, has been plagued by delays and setbacks, raising concerns about the country's ability to boost its oil production and revenue. The failure of the refinery to start operations as planned could have severe repercussions on the Nigerian economy, particularly on the exchange rate of the naira against the dollar. With Nigeria heavily reliant on oil exports for revenue, the country's inability to ramp up its oil production could lead to a decrease in foreign exchange earnings, further weakening the naira. As a result, experts predict that the dollar will appreciate against the naira in the coming months, making imports more expensive for Nigerian consumers and businesses. This could lead to inflation and a decrease in purchasing power, negatively impacting the country's economy. The government must urgently address the issues surrounding the oil refinery project and take proactive measures to stabilize the exchange rate and strengthen the naira. Failure to do so could have devastating consequences for the Nigerian economy and its citizens. |
Shameful. The Kyari man is resign immediately. And be arrested, chained and thrown into prison without a trial |

Nigeria’s FX reserves dip by $1.02 billion in 18 days on CBN’s naira defence Nigeria’s foreign exchange (FX) reserve has experienced a sharp decline of about $1.02 billion within 18 days, as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) continues its aggressive defence of the naira. As of April 4, 2024, the FX reserves stood at $33.43 billion, down from $34.45 billion on March 18, 2024, according to the latest data from the CBN. Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserve plummeted to its lowest level since February 20, 2024, when it was $33.42 billion. This marks a decisive end to a period of steady accrual, during which the reserve witnessed a 43-day surge, accruing $1.28 billion between February 5 and March 18, 2024. The CBN earlier attributed the rise to increased remittance payments from Nigerians abroad and heightened interest from foreign investors in local assets, including government debt securities. The apex bank also noted that the increase was due to reforms in the foreign exchange market and an increase in oil production amongst others. The downward trend reflects a significant drawdown in the reserves, which have been depleting since March 18, when they peaked at $34.45 billion. The reserves dropped to $34.39 billion on March 19 and continued to fall steadily, hitting $33.57 billion by April 2, and further sliding to $33.43 billion by April 4. This marks a decline of $1.02 billion within 18 days, indicating the pressure on the reserves amid ongoing efforts to stabilize the local currency. CBN’s FX Interventions The CBN has been actively intervening in the foreign exchange market to shore up the naira, which has been under pressure from various economic factors. This intervention often involves the sale of dollars to ensure sufficient liquidity in the market, an action that has likely led to a decrease in FX reserves. News continues after this ad News continues after this ad Within the 18-day period under review, the CBN announced the complete clearance of the valid foreign exchange backlog and the sale of $10,000 foreign exchange to each Bureau De Change operator (BDC) in Nigeria at a rate of N1,251/$1. What You Should Know The depletion of FX reserves is a cause for concern as it reflects the state of the country’s balance of payments and its ability to meet international obligations. A significant decline in the reserves can affect investor confidence and may lead to a credit rating downgrade, which can further impact the nation’s borrowing costs. Nigeria faces multiple economic challenges, including theft and losses in the oil and gas sector, which have traditionally been a significant source of FX for the country. The decrease in reserves may also limit the CBN’s ability to intervene in the currency market, potentially leading to further depreciation of the naira. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently projected that Nigeria’s foreign reserve is expected to see a significant reduction, falling to $24 billion in 2024. The IMF anticipates a challenging period through 2024–25 for Nigeria’s financial account, exacerbated by an absence of new Eurobond issuances, significant repayments of existing funds and Eurobonds totalling $3.5 billion, and continued portfolio outflows. However, it projected a hopeful recovery to $38 billion by 2028 as portfolio inflows are forecasted to increase. Policymakers may need to balance immediate currency stabilisation efforts with long-term economic strategies to ensure the health and stability of Nigeria’s financial position on the global stage. https://nairametrics.com/2024/04/07/nigerias-fx-reserves-dip-by-1-02-billion-in-18-days-on-cbns-naira-defence/ |
