The Ondo state All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election is still on but a winner has emerged
A former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged the winner of the APC ticket in Ondo state
Chief Akeredolu will now lead the APC for the Ondo state governorship election billed for Saturday, November 26
A former NBA chairman, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu has emerged the governorship candidate of the APC ahead of the November 26 gubernatorial election in the state.

Chief Rotimi Akeredolu is the APC candidate for the Ondo polls
Akeredolu, 60, emerged the APC candidate in a keenly contested election that saw him polled 669 votes defeating 23 other aspirants.
There were 2,774 accredited delegates who partook in the voting exercise. Dr Segun Abraham emerged second with a total number of 635 votes, Olusola Oke coming close with a total number of 576 votes with Senator Ajayi Borrofice and Senator Tayo Alasoadura with a total number of 471 and 206 votes respectively..


Popularly called ‘Aketi’ by his admirers, Akeredolu contested under the platform of the APC in 2012 but lost out in the elections to incumbent governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
Widely regarded as a formidable politician, Akeredolu won the election without the backing of the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
