AWS has a proper high-security data vault. It is called RedShift I think. Those engineers really need to be sued if it is true that those information are stored on s3.

RedShift is just a data warehouse.

The location of the data centre does matter for National security reasons.

I know that in the US, there are some sectors or applications you might build where the data must be 100% stored in the US according to the law. I got to know this in a training with AWS cloud.

I believe this, despite this, data security is of utmost importance for even the survival of the cloud providers.

If laid down protocol is followed, breaches such as being touted here shouldn't be that easy.

Main-one has data centres here in Nigeria but no, oga Pantami carried our data to the US for storage. This Nigeria is not a country really. I can't imagine the US storing sensitive data on Azure servers located in Germany. Anybody can get hacked, but it shouldn't be script kiddies or individuals... I hope that Sam of a guy doesn't get hacked by NKorea or China for the data. Maybe they might as well have a go at our servers

It shouldn't matter if they are on premise or in the cloud.
