JOemmy: She must have done her DNA that links her to the Igbo tribe that's probably why she boldly wears that cup were the pride of ndiigbo was clearly written on it Tulsa is just a city in the US and not an ethnic group. So anybody that wears Isi-agu is automatically ibo? |

wagazala: When is the World Cup played? When is Europa played? Copa America? Etc. My point is the calendar suits all stakeholders better (even the players) if played after the season. We won't have clubs boycotting African players because they are bound to loose them every two years for a month. Ferguson is a prime example. When the players also travel for Afcon, they won't give their all because they have their minds on their league form. None wants to go back injured.
Inves Lies. Any African that doesn't give his best at the nations Cup would do say at club level. The likes of Frederick Kanoute, Samuel Etoo, Osei Kuffour, Kanu, Ikpeba, Okocha, etc. have all graced and given their best at the AFCON. The dates haven't changed neither has the dates of the European leagues but suddenly we have to change it to please who? If not your likes who are sellouts, this shouldn't be a discussion. I remember when my British colleagues were trying to bad mouth Qatar getting the rights to the world Cup, that it's too hot there so it should not be held there. I told them to their faces, it is the WORLD Cup and not the European Cup and they don't have to do shit. They can try to play at night, or provide air conditioning, but they have the right to host the competition like any other country. Learn to have pride in yourself gaddamit. |

wagazala: Na this mentality dey ruin us and yet we dey clamor for international coverage. All the other continents no get sense abi? Make we Siddon there na dey form arrogance. Arrogance how? FIFA has made it easy for nations in any case. Any club that fails to release a player for international engagement would be severely sanctioned. It's important to note, that international engagements are well scheduled and published well in advance. The EPL continues to play during the winter period and in fact, creates a congestion of games over the period and does so unashamedly whilst many European leagues go on a winter break. They claim it is their tradition but you here, think a tournament that is the pride of Africa, that is held every two years should be shifted to appease some European masters. You no get pride or worse still shame? |

owagbeba: Quite on the contrary... it’s because these apps (Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp) share data with the US security institutions . And these apps are known to be used by these institutions to promulgate regime change. China being a top adversary to the US is highly wary of these avenues used by the US for social engineering, manufacturing consent and regime change.
These weibo apps and rest are alternatives to the western structures. Just the way they have their own payment system unionpay, Alipay.
It’s a good move by them to be self sufficient and not rely on western structures. They are aligning with Russia to build an alternative to SWIFT bank settlement system. That’s another western construct that they often dangle as sanction to any nation that refuses to kowtow to their US-Rule based order. Remember Iran was cut off from SWIFT for experimenting with nuclear technology. Same technology that US, Israel, UK,China, India, Pakistan and Russia owns. Venezuela gold reserve in U.K. bank was seized by U.K. Afghan monetary reserves in US bank seized because the Talibs beat the US.
They have their own aviation industry up and running in case the west instructs Boeing and Airbus not to supply spare parts. Same way the west crippled Iranian aviation industry with sanctions on spare parts.
Despite the pressure from the west including economic sanctions and all, they are resilient and dependent on their internal and external market to maintain growth. Local consumption of goods and services have grown tremendously.
How much is too much when it comes to tattooing the body? I think some do take this the extreme by painting all the body. I understand it’s an individual choice but such comes with consequences. So many institutions have restrictions on body alterations.. no beards in the military, no long hairs, males can’t plait their hair like female and work in government office. We all do have restrictions one way or another.
Side note: the Christian faith in Nigeria doesn’t allow tattoos, right? You've said it all. On another thread, some Nigerians were praising Iranians for killing a gay man. Now they are railing against China for a similarly draconian issue. China chooses, what China chooses and it maybe works for them. They are so big and strong, no one dares them. Makers of noise would continue with their cacophony. |

Anigreat:

If not for China's technological knowledge/advancement, China would've been the worst country on earth.
That was how the banned some social medias in their country. They banned Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, yahoo etc.
They developed WeChat to replace WhatsApp, developed Sina Weibo to replaced Twitter, they developed Douyin and kuaishiu to replaced Instagram and lots more
They hate using what other people developed or created but they want the whole world to be using what they're creating.
This same china has caused the world so much pains with all the nonsense they do kill and eat..till date the world is still battling with COVID 19. Instead of them to ban all the nonsense they eat, they think tattoo is their greatest problem.
And to think this is a country one skinny skeletal idiot runs to every second to borrow a huge some of money is so worrisome and sad. Sharap. Some how, you must find a way to rope Nigeria ot Buhari into any negative news. |

Omeleyi: Bruh, when afcon started in 1957, it was planned with the weather which was best in January/February devoid of rain. No one player was playing for European club then. Even if there were players in Europe then, it wasn't a consideration because it was suppose to be a competition by Africans and for Africans. European championship started later in 1958 and they choose June which is best suited for their weather also. So, where did caf go wrong choosing January? No let colonial mentality destroy ur sense of reasoning abeg. Afcon is even older than theirs Honestly, Africans suffer inferiority complex. |

wagazala: I dont think the Afcon is getting as much flak is it is potrayed to have. In my opinion, i think its just hard to sell the Afcon to the rest of the world because of the timing. The organizers ought to understand that even the World Cup is played in the summer when all other major leagues are on break. If Afcon were to be played in the summer, it would get as much coverage as possible. Lets not get ahead of ourselves, even the European Championship cannot compete with the Leagues in terms of coverage. The Qatar world cup is getting as much flak due to its timing as well. With this outburst, clubs will start to boycot African players. CAF should move the competition to the summer. Africa does not need to change the rules to suit Europe. Well before the mass migration to Europe for big pay, the AFCON existed. The clubs should adjust their calendar to suit the nations Cup. |

Politics › Re: Enugu Residents Battle Water Scarcity Again, Buy Sachet Water For Bathing by Golan007: 9:24pm On Dec 29, 2021 |
i926: Enugu metropolis is underlain by shale which is an aquitard, and borehole instability due to the shaley nature of the lithology. Running a geophysical survey before drilling, will definitely yield a good outcome on where to drill and depth to drill to. But the problem with the people is that they don't believe in spending money. I know a hotel worth millions, but there's no borehole, they buy water to refill. Drill borehole..mba.
Unlike Northern politicians that commission water projects for their people in cities, towns and villages..an average Eastern politician would prefer to carry some big booty bitch than do such.
Igbos ain't really smart. You do know shale is a sedimentary rock right? This implies that it would always be extensive hence never guaranteed a favourable outcome even after a geophysical survey. |
