The Nigeria Police has said it has not received any complaint about the alleged abduction of the Senator representing Kogi-West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye.

In an announcement on Thursday night, Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, said none of the Senator’s family member or associate has come out to lay a complaint to the Police.

Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has told President Muhammadu Buhari to stop showing loyalty to “Abiola’s tormentor.”
Soyinka made the statement on Tuesday in Abuja during the Special National Honours Investiture.
His words: “Most of what I wanted to say have been actually knocked off my mouth by one singular gesture: the presidential apology. It is a dimension which I did not expect from today’s ceremony.

“I had a lot to say, but fortunately the words have been taken off my mouth. However, I will like to make a request. Mr. President, since we are honouring heroes of democracy today, I will like to request that you manage to stop creating confusion in the minds of Nigerians.

At least 30 people, most of them children, have died after a school bus fell into a gorge in a mountainous region of India, officials say.

Most of the passengers were below the age of 10, police said. The bus driver and two teachers were also killed in the accident on Monday evening.

Two persons have been reportedly killed by suspected herdsmen in Odighi, Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.

One of the murdered victim, Pius Eromosele, was a Christian cleric at the Church of God Mission, in Benin-City and the other a farmer.

A couple held a French nanny hostage in their home before beating her to death and then burning her body in their garden, a court has heard.

The couple, Sabrina Kouider, 35 and Ouissem Medouni, 40, held the nanny, Sophie Lionnet, 21, hostage at their £900,000 home in Wimbledon, southwest London, in the days before her death, the court was told.

Former South Africa President, Jacob Zuma, is to face prosecution for 16 charges of corruption, Chief Prosecutor Shaun Abrahams has confirmed.

Abrahams said he believed there were "reasonable prospects of a successful prosecution".

A US woman has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for shooting dead her boyfriend in a botched stunt they hoped would go viral on YouTube.

Monalisa Perez, now 20, was asked by Pedro Ruiz, 22, to fire a gun from a foot (30cm) away, believing a thick book he held in front of his chest would shield him.

The bullet pierced the 1.5in book, fatally wounding Ruiz last June.

Perez, a mother of two, later pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter.

A US woman has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment for shooting dead her boyfriend in a botched stunt they hoped would go viral on YouTube.

Monalisa Perez, now 20, was asked by Pedro Ruiz, 22, to fire a gun from a foot away, believing a thick book he held in front of his chest would shield him.
