Residents of Itu Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Wednesday, woke to a horror sight, following the murder of a middle-aged barber by a close family friend who was supposedly his boss.
Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, from Anambra State, was arrested by men of the Akwa Ibom State police command over the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, his close friend and employee.
It was gathered that Onowa, who tried to escape after allegedly killing his friend and dismembering him, was arrested with the aid of a GSM tracking device employed by officers and men of the Police Force.
Explaining the incident which led to the gruesome murder of the said barber, who hailed from Uruan Local Government Area, the state Police Commissioner, Mr Gabriel Achong, said the culprit confessed to have invited his friend to his house and offered him a drink he had already poisoned.

The Islamic scholar, Sheik Muyideen Bello is known for his tough lectures and powerful speakings

He is fearless about it. In one of his lectures titled Legal Marriage, Sheik Bello spoke about why a man should marry more than 1 wife.


In his words, “Allah said a man should marry any kind of woman he likes. As a man, if you want to marry a fair-complexioned or dark woman, marry her. Allah said we should start from 2 women. I know women will not like to hear this. If you have to marry, start with 2 women, that is what the Quran says.
The Yorubas have a saying that a man with 1 woman isn’t a real man. For instance if you are married to 1 wife and she over-salts your food, you have just 1 wife. You don’t have a choice than to eat the food or buy food outside.



“I have received so many messages from people that why should I encourage polygamy. I tell them, is it me encouraging polygamy? Allah said you should marry 2, 3, 4. Allah said if as a man you know you can’t take care of them, then marry 1.

Then if you are a me&my wife kind of man, the implications are too many.

As Muslims, 4 women is the maximum a man can have, have 2 living with you then if you have 2 houses outside, you put the other 2 there. The implications in marrying just 1 wife are too many.”

Actress, Alex Okoroji, has made it known that she is done with sex break and open to dating now.

The actress who was once married to Omar Captan, Ghanaian ‘fine boy’ actor but split about 18 months later has spoken up about what next in her life. In a phone interview with Punch, Alex revealed how her marriage did not last, although she did not go into details. She said:


“I can’t really tell you how long I was married. Sometimes, you won’t realise that a relationship is over until it is actually over. It was shorter than 18 months technically.”
The short marriage however produced a beautiful baby who the actress cherishes so much.

“You tend to be more self-sufficient. I’m playing double roles; being the d
ad and mum at the same time. It’s a little challenging but at the same time, it’s good. Sometimes, separation is not always a bad option.

“I’ve been separated for so long but a lot of people didn’t know until recently that it came out in the papers. So, I’m absolutely done with my break, but I’m not in a relationship. I’ve moved on since then. It’s possible to be on a break, and at the same time be focused on your work. You may not be in a serious relationship with someone but then, you are having a casual relationship with someone or you are seeing someone once in a while. I’m very open to dating but I’m not in a relationship with anybody. Last week, robbers invaded two banks on Ikorodu road, carting over N80m naira..Several witnesses claimed they were led by a female of about 20 with a live snake around her neck..They escaped using a speed boat..Today, it was revealed they were arrested from Okitipupa, Ondo State, and Ikorodu, Lagos State, while three Sport Utility Vehicles allegedly bought from the proceeds of the robbery were recovered.
The suspects’ names were given as Monday Akpan, Bright Agbojule, the third identified simply as Jafaru, and one Baba Ibeji.
The soldiers were on a stop-and-search and they found the suspect, identified only as Baba Ibeji, while on his way to his home town in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
“During a search, they found bundles of new N1,000 notes with bank seals in his bag.
“The soldiers, who were also aware of the bank robbery in Lagos, smelt a rat and contacted the Lagos State Police Command on the development.

An Ota Magistrates’ Court Ota on Monday sentenced a 28-year-old man to one month in prison for breaking into a shop to steal seven pieces of meats from a pot.
The Magistrate, Miss Temitope Adebutu, however, gave the convict an option of N5,000 fine. The accused of no fixed address was arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing and burglary.
Prosecutor Rosemary Brown told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 25 at about 6 a.m. at Ire-Akari Street, Ota in Ogun.
She said that the accused broke into the shop of the complainant, Akinola Olamilekan, to steal seven pieces of meats from a pot valued at N700.
Brown said that the offences contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Revised Laws of Ogun, 2006.
