’The whistleblowing policy is a very simple policy through which we encourage Nigerians who have any information about the violation of our rights, the commission of a crime, fraud or corruption or any Nigerian who knows where certain money is being held or kept to anonymously contact us. ‘’We will protect his or her identity and if the information leads to the recovery of money, he or she will be entitled to 2.5 per cent or 5 per cent of the money recovered. ‘’We have three channels of passing the information which could be through dedicated SMS, a portal and an e-mail address and all of them are secured,’’

The Funeral service for late Henrietta Emumeakpor-Kosoko slated for Regina Mundi, Mushin, Lagos has been cancelled.

Not only that, her remains will also not be interred at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos as earlier released by the burial committee.

According to one of the members of the committee who spoke to encomium.ng under the condition of anonymity, the reason for the cancellation of the Lagos funeral arrangement was not unconnected with the fact that the Henrietta’s family from Delta state insisted that their daughter must not be buried outside.

“It’s true that Henrietta’s remains will no longer be buried in Lagos. Her siblings and other members of her family have insisted they’re not burying her in Lagos as earlier planned by Jide Kosoko.

‘Henrietta is Urhobo woman from Delta state, where they cherish their culture. Jide Kosoko didn’t go to her family house in Delta to pay her dowry,’ the source said.

Ex-Sports Minster, Tammy Danagogo, on Thursday said that the sack of former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, was a move that was ill thought out.

Danagogo said, in Port Harcourt, that the death of Keshi, was a pathetic loss to Nigeria. He said as minister, those who wanted Keshi sacked, had no better alternative. Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi “I worked with Keshi as minister when he was the coach of Super Eagles.

To me, his commitment and patriotism is unequal,” he said. Danagogo said he supported Keshi because of the sincerity he exuded. “Keshi was a regular player, captain and later coach of the national team. He was enthusiastic to deliver but he had challenges. “I know the odds he faced. As minister then, those who wanted him out were asking me why I was always supporting Keshi. “I supported him because he was ready to work for Nigeria even when he was owed arrears of salaries,” he said.



According to Danagogo, as Minister of Sports, he refused Keshi’s sack because those who wanted him out as coach had no better alternative. “I realised that those who were clamouring to change Keshi, at the point they were clamouring for it, we did not have any local alternative that was better than him. “He was an exceptional case of talent, commitment and patriotism to the development of Nigerian football even when he was owed three to five months salary arrears,” he said.

Danagogo said he disagreed with those who wanted Keshi out because they did not have solution on who to replace him. “I asked them, look, who is the local alternative that is better than Keshi. If you convince me, you can change him. “Now, if you are going for a foreign alternative, can you pay the person when you are not able to pay a local coach,” he said. “I believe Nigeria has lost one its best in terms of talent, commitment and sacrifice to the development of sports, especially football in the country,”

A commercial Toyota Sienna bus lost balance, somersaulting into the bush on Tuesday 7th June killing one woman and leaving four injured close to Ihiala LGA headquarters along Onitsha-Owerri Road in Ihiala, Anambra State.

A social media user who was on ground said eyewitnesses ran towards the accident scene to rescue the survivors but couldn't find the driver of the vehicle on the steering.

This gives some level of credence to a popular belief that some commcercial drivers in Nigeria have diabolic powers that enables them to disappear to safety in the event of an accident.

The bus was said to be travelling from Aba, Abia State to Onitsha in Anambra State.

He was very apt in his answers and he talked about his life as a coach, a husband and father.

As a coach, he said,

“One is bound to face attacks and criticisms. Most people blame coaches after every game, they point out what is good and what is not good. Even if you are winning, there are still some people around that would tell you that there are things the coach did not do right.”

He was asked if he got angry at such comments and he said, “I respond by focusing on the business at hand and doing what I have to do.”

Then, he spoke on the tension inherent in any match: “There is no way to relieve tension because tension will always be there long after the game is over. It does not matter the outcome of the game, you just put it behind you and tell yourself that it is in the past. You have to think ahead. In a game, you have three possibilities— you are winning, losing or drawing. Whichever one comes in, manage it and go ahead.”

“Again, I want to be on the same attire with the footballers. There is nothing wrong with me wearing a green/white track suit; it is the colour of the Nigerian flag, the colour of the team and I am proud to wear that instead of suits. I don’t even like suits! I used to wear suit when I was playing in Europe, now I am tired of wearing them. Though I may come back to them later, I am not wearing anything other than African attire.”

But what will he not be caught dead in? He promptly replied: “White trousers, I don’t fancy them at all.”

We enjoyed his jokes and before the interview ended we asked him:

“What do you want to be remembered for?”

Keshi replied, “I want to be remembered as a guy who is pleasant to be with.”

Nigerian football icon Stephen Okechukwu Keshi is dead.The Cable reports that he died suddenly in the early hours of Wednesday in Benin City, Edo state. Just last year,the 54 year old former international football player and coach lost his wife of 33 years, Kate,after a prolonged battle with cancer.
TheCable confirmed his death from a member of his family as well as one of his close associates.

“He was not ill at all, never showed any signs of illness, but we suspect he never got over the death of his wife,” a friend said.

Jide Kosoko’s wife, Henrietta dies

Nollywood actress, Henrietta Kosoko, wife of veteran actor, Jide Kosoko is dead. She died on Monday morning.
Henrietta, who only last week celebrated her 53rd birthday, was said to have slumped at home and was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Henrietta, until death, was married to veteran actor and former president of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), Kosoko.
A close family source who spoke under the condition of anonymity disclosed that she before her demise, she was battling diabetes for a while, causing her sugar level to fluctuate.

A university lecturer reportedly surprised his students recently when he took a dramatic step to curb the incessant misbehavior amongst them.
