opeyemi2012: I wish Nigeria will focus more on State Governors and LGA chairmen, they are the most corrupt set of public/elected officials.
This is not to absolve the FG and federal public servants of any wrongdoing but the former I mentioned are responsible for development at the grassroot level.....yet what do we have?
Imagine a governor paying 7000 as minimum wage in 2024 yet driving around in multiple convoys and displaying obnoxious opulence to the impoverished masses. Exactly. Left to some governors, they would rather not even have LGA chairman like Peter Obi's 8 years as Anambra governor. |

It's very glaring that IPOB's activities of today were stronger in Abia state than any other state in the SE.
Understandably, there are lots of IPOB terrorists that are also Obidients. Peter Obi or Otti condemning them will equate to shooting themselves in the foot. |

seanfer: So you expect a civilian without any Military backing to declare a new country under the Military Government? Try and read about what happened to Adaka Borro on the Niger Delta. Ironically, it was Ironsi (an Ibo man) and Ojukwu (an Ibo man) that arrested and charged Ijaw man Adaka Borro for trying to break the Niger Delta away from Nigeria. They had the power and never envisaged that their will be a counter coup. Same Ironsi filled his government with Ibo people who were wrongly advising him. |

Buccalcavity2: It difficult to respond to op because your narrative is false. Time and again it's been refuted that there is no "unwritten agreement" with eastern Nigeria wrt secession. 2ndly, there was no attempt to liberate the west as none was called for! Also written and oral history about the actions of Biafra soldiers in Benin et all doesn't show any sign of liberation as purported but domination. Each leader chose what was good for her people. If you ask me, Biafra war was unnecessary coz it was precipitated by official dispute between Ikemba and his colleagues. How a personal issue translated to regional issue beats me to date But I don't begrudge any one that intends to seccede. I only wished the premise was different. The heads of those guys are filled with junks from Radio Biafria. |

gidgiddy: The answer is quite easy
Nigeria is today world poverty capital and 8th most insecure country on earth, a spectacular failure
If you could see the future at the time, would you want to be part of such country that offers no hope?
Ojukwu saw that future, Awolowo saw it but did not have the courage of Ojukwu Another revisionist. . Awolowo saw the future when he asked for the separation clause to be added to the constitution, but Azikiwe did not. Azikiwe vehemently fought against the inclusion of a secession clause. 2. Tafawa Balewa threatened to pull out the north from Nigeria, but Azikiwe as usual quickly and hurriedly headed to the north to form an alliance with Tafawa Balewa to form a government, thereby betraying his southern brothers a 2nd time. We all saw how your unity begging with the North ended. |

SoNature: Senators and HoR members from the South East should come together and sponsor a bill that will enable the region to set aside 30th May as a day we commemorate the killing of millions of Igbos during the Biafran war. There's nothing wrong with that.
Being a Nigerian doesn't mean losing one's own identity or pretending that you didn't suffer irreparable physical, emotional and psychological damage during the civil war. Many of us still carry that deep hurt today. And that's the correct way to go about it instead of IPOB issuing threats and creating more harms to students sitting for WAEC. |

Patiently waiting for the agulu fraud or madam Obby to condemn IPOB. It's almost 2 weeks now that the original news broke out. All we have heard is cricket.
If this had happened in any other region, agulu man would have typed an 8 paragraph epistle about security breakdown on twitter.

MILLERMannn: This is going to almost one week now that citizens and residents of Best way, Iwo road can no longer live in peace owing to groups of some thugs fighting each other. These thugs are daily seen with guns, cutlasses and charms. I am using this medium to call on the inspector general of police to seriously look into the matter by directing the commissioner of police of the state to quickly do something before the crisis escalate. It is a canker worm that is putting the residents in fear. I will be happy if this quickly get to the right channel and is worked upon. So the IG of police is on Nairaland. |

idahme: Did u also compare their resources? U see how intelligent you are ? You are smart by half
You should have compared their budget for the fiscal year to understand thee main differences. proeast: Empty headed villages are always using landmass to make comparisons. If only this boy is educated, he will know that empty landmass doesn’t mean anything, it is the development that matters.
Northern Nigeria with large landmass doesn’t make noise, but these local chest beaters always look for anything, no matter how stupid it is, to make foolish boast with. Niger state alone is same size with the entire South west put together, yet you don’t see northerners using it to brag foolishly.
Poor education has really ruined you guys. Sharap. He is right. 𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 that South-East Region of five States is almost the same size of Oyo State (one state out of the six South-West States)? Yet, South-East Region (equivalent to Oyo State) is governed by: i. 5 Governors ii. 15 Senators iii. 43 House of Representatives Members iv. 95 Local Government Chairmen v. 129 State House of Assembly Members While Oyo State is governed by: i. 1 Governor iI. 3 Senators iii. 14 House of Representatives Members iv. 33 Local Government Chairmen v. 33 State House of Assembly Members South East Total Landmass = 28,983Km² Oyo State Landmass = 28,454Km² Why is SE, a glorified single State with 5 Governors and 95 LGA Chairmen not better developed than Oyo State with just one Governor and 33 LGA Chairmen? Why has South East that collect allocations in five different places under five Governors and 95 Council Chairmen not been able to turn the region into Dubai? Are the five heads of SE better than one head of Oyo State?
