The Arewa Consultative Forum said on Saturday that President Muhammad Buhari won't resign over his ill-health as being taunted in some quarters.

In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the forum, Muhammad Ibrahim, the ACF noted with regret that in other clime, citizens wished their leaders well when ill or incapitated to perform their statutory functions, but not so in Nigeria.

Prospective candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Kaduna state on Friday protested over their inability to locate examination centres, six days after the exam commenced across the country.

The candidates who took to the streets of the state capital and blocked the gate of the JAMB office along Tafawa Balewa road in the state capital, complained that they were unable to process their registration at the Computer Based Test centres, due to insufficient facilities.

Some of them who came all the way from Zaria and Zamfara State for the exam also lamented over the fact that they had spent so much money in an attempt to rectify the problem without any success.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. -Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Friday, established a Forward Operation Base, named Muhammadu Buhari Base, in Daura town, Katsina State. Buratai said the move was to enhance security in parts of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army’s area of responsibility.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. -Gen. Sani Usman, said in a statement that after the establishment ceremony of the unit named after President Muhammadu Buhari, Buratai paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Daura, Dr. Faruk Umar.

He said, “The establishment of the new unit was part of the implementation of the Nigerian Army approved Order of Battle 2016 (ORBAT 2016) by the Army council The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. -Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Friday, established a Forward Operation Base, named Muhammadu Buhari Base, in Daura town, Katsina State. What is CMD?

A command prompt (or just prompt) is a sequence of (one or more) characters used in a command-line interface to indicate readiness to accept commands. It literally prompts the user to take action. A prompt usually ends with one of the characters $, %, #, :, > and often includes other information, such as the path of the current working directory and the hostname.

To Open CMD on Any windows, press on "CTRL + R" then write "cmd" and tap " ENTER"

We voted in a President who many people felt was a man for the masses but in recent times, this hasn't been the case. President Buhari's economic policies have alienated him from the masses and as a result, many turned to Efe, the hustler from the streets as their savior. They could see themselves in him, they had felt his pains and his struggles so it was either Efe or nobody. that's why he won with such a huge margin. ( He had 57.61% of the votes)

Bisola would have won but for her romantic escapades with ThinTallTony (say what you may but we are a very conservative society) and many also felt that she already had a career before coming into the house so she could parlay her BBNaija fame into even more fame and fortune.

TBoss was too controversial to have won plain and simple. Had the half Romanian Edo state indigene won the show, riots may have broken out on the streets. Saying she doesn't need the money did not help too. Debie Rise stood no chance from the moment she stepped into the show. the fact that she got into the final was a result of her fans outside the house and shrewd campaigning by her team. Her becoming TBoss's number two did not help as Nigerians transferred their hate of TBoss to Kogi state musician. Marvis was the smartest of all housemates. She rode Efe's wave right to the very end.

Notice how she was saved not once but twice as a result of her relationship with Efe after all, people did not want their favorite candidate to be lonely. Giving Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike a shout out on the show is also a well calculated move because this way, she is sure to get some goodies from him as soon as she returns home.

At least one person was killed Nigerian-Cameroon border and many others injured after a bomb attack by Boko Haram on Saturday, April 8 morning.
According to Simonateba.com, the attack took place in Kolofata, on Cameroon’s far north region, close to the Nigerian border.

The online platform was quoting L’Oeil du Sahel newspaper which reported that it was not clear whether the blast was carried out by a lone bomber or many. “For now, one dead and many people injured,” L’Oeil du Sahel said.

The attack occured just as explosions rocked Maiduguri, the Borno state capital in the early hours of Saturday, April 8.
The attack was said to have occurred around past 5am as Muslims observed their early morning prayers.
Premium Times reports that at least two people were killed in the attack on Saturday. It quoted officials as saying that their bodies have been recovered outside a mosque in Jiddari Polo area in Maiduguri after two female suicide bombers attacked worshippers.

It's seems the minister playing games with the budget. When he's asked about Inland ports and dredging rivers he blames it on Buhari being focused on rail. Then we see him sitting on billions that might be used for that. When asked about why SE was excluded he says it due to Former President Yar Adua policies.

Why are all the committees being handed different documents? If the documents don't have accurate accounting what is he doing with cash. I wonder if they would actually follow through with threat.

Anyone notice this forex policy is very problematic. It seems the issue comes up in everything.

Four committees of the House of Representatives on Tuesday jointly expressed dissatisfaction over the implementation of the Federal Ministry of Transportation’s 2016 Budget.
They are Committees on Aviation; Land Transport; Maritime Safety and Administration; Ports, Harbours and Waterways.

The committees, which visited the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on oversight function, threatened to give zero allocation to the ministry in 2017.
Mr Mohammed Bago, the Chairman, Committee on Maritime Safety and Administration, said that the ministry presented different documents to the committees which did not contain facts. He said that the ministry had received N243 billion and had yet to spend it, adding that if the money was not used before the end of the month, it would receive zero allocation in 2017. “The different positions made to the committee of the house on both land transport, ports and harbour, maritime safety and administration as well as aviation has varied.

“We have received three different documents till date and all of them are not consistent and that is why we have asked for a new document to ascertain the value of what this project is all about. “We are not going to appropriate on this budget until we have the fact and figure and if we do not have the facts and figure, the ministry of transport will get zero allocation. “They have received 243 billion and they have not spent it when Ministry of Health needs money because people are dying of meningitis, Nigerian soldiers are dying in Sambisa, no money to fund the soldiers.

“The ministry of transportation is seating on billions of Nigerians’ naira released to it and is not utilised.’’ Dr. Patrick Asadu, Chairman of the Committee on Ports, Harbours and Waterways, said that members were at the ministry to ensure that money given to the ministry was well spent.
He said that the committee was not satisfied with the document presented to it, adding that the money was not well spent. “Our being here is to help the ministry to ensure that money given to it was spent for what it was given for. “ But when this money is not well spent, we are not going to release further money; we are trying to look at what happened in 2016 budget; we are insisting that the ministry spends it or we give it to other agencies.

Mr Aminu Sani, Chairman, Committee on Land Transport, said the budget presentation and performance presented before the joint committee was not impressive. He said most of the items presented in the document were not in conformity with the expenditure. According to him, the direct expenditure of the ministry is zero performance in terms of budget implementation.

Earlier, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, said that N60 billion had been paid for the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge rail but there was a challenge with the counterpart fund. He said that the Chinese EXIM Bank was to fund 85 per cent of the project initially, but it was currently funding 78 per cent.
He said that the bank insisted it would not pay for land, survey and tax, stating that with the current foreign exchange rate and the extension of the rail to the ports, the project could not be completed this year.

The Federal Government says it has taken measures to end the exportation of raw solid mineral by miners.

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Solid Mineral Development, who disclosed this on Tuesday in Lafia, during a courtesy visit to Gov. Tanko Al-Makura, declared that the era of mining and exporting unprocessed solid minerals “will soon be over”.

Fayemi, who began a two- day assessment tour of mining sites and mining activities in the state, said that miners ready to invest in the sector must be willing to set up processing plants in host communities, so as to create jobs for people.

He explained that the enforcement of the ban would not be done arbitrarily as investors would be given time to establish their processing plants. The minister expressed readiness to partner with the state government towards developing the mining sector in the country.

“Although mining is in the exclusive legislative list of the country’s constitution, there is no law precluding states with enormous resources from setting up mining companies,” he said. Fayemi said that such states could approach the ministry for licenses to explore and exploit the resources. According to him, states can do it solely or in partnership with private investors, depending on the technical capacity. The minister said that state governments would play key roles in the issuance of mining license to minimise the frictions usually common between investors and the host communities.

Fayemi assured the governor that the ministry would enforce the provisions of the mining and mineral act in favour of the host communities. “This is because they (host communities) have been at the receiving end; they hardly reap the necessary benefits from their natural endowment,” he said.
Responding, Gov. Umaru Al-Makura thanked the minister for the visit, saying that it had given the state the impetus to contribute more to the current economic diversification drive. Al-Makura appealed to the federal government to pay special attention to the protection of major mining companies in view of incessant attacks.

He also stressed the need for the federal government to pursue joint ventures with multinational mining companies similar to what was done in the oil sector, in order to bring sophistication into the industry and boost revenue. Al-Makura suggested the need to showcase Nigeria’s mineral resources at the country’s foreign missions with a view to linking investors directly to states where each item was found.

The Chief of Staff to Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Mr Taiwo Akerele, has urged medical doctors to do all in their capacity to save five-year old Martins Denisson from dying of severe burns.

Akerele made the call in Benin on Monday when he visited the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where the boy is receiving treatment.

''We must do all to ensure the survival of this child. The victim was rescued from fire about a week ago while the parents were out of the house. Akerele said the Obaseki-led government placed high premium on the life of every citizen. ‎

He said it was based on this that the government decided to offer financial support for the treatment of the victim. Dr Philip Osho, one of the medical doctors treating the victim, identified financial constraint as the major challenge against proper medical care of the boy. He said the child has missed some doses of the anti-biotic treatment he had been placed on over inability of the parents to pay. Mrs Sofia Denisson, the boy's mother, appreciated the kind gesture of the Edo Government.

She said she had lost one child to the fire. The incident occurred at Ijorbgo Street in Upper Sokponba Road, Benin penultimate Sunday. This followed an inferno that razed down a bungalow in which Denisson's elder brother died.

The victim was said to have been locked inside a room with his elder brother by their father who was said to have gone out. Mrs Denisson, a pap seller, was said to have gone to a nearby market to buy corn for the next day's business. She was said to have gone out with her five months old girl, leaving the boys in the care of their father.

The Osun Police Command, weekend, paraded 14 suspected criminals in Osogbo over alleged murder, robbery and issuance of fake vehicle documents and number plates.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olafimihan Adeoye, told newsmen at the parade that the suspects were arrested in February and March. Adeoye said that one of the suspects, aged 30, killed his 82-year-old grandfather-in-law by hitting firewood on his head.

He said that the suspect and the octogenarian had been having a misunderstanding. The Commissioner of Police said that seven of the suspects robbed, with arms, a hostel occupied by some students of the College of Education, Ilesha, on February 3 at 3p.m.

He said that four other suspects connived with some suspects arrested earlier to hijack and steal fuel tankers and their contents. Adeoye said that the four suspects were arrested during an investigation on the case. He added that two other suspects specialised in producing fake vehicle documents and number plates. Adeoye said that the two were arrested, following complaints from an official of the state’s Ministry of Transportation.

He added that the suspects would be charged to court after investigations, adding that the police were trailing others connected with crimes.
