Health › Please I need an advice: I am concerned about my dad's health, by Gosh234(op): 12:48pm On Jan 13, 2025*. Modified: 1:09pm On Jan 13, 2025 |
In March 2024, my dad suffered a partial stroke. We rushed him to the hospital and spent a significant amount of money to stabilize him. He remained in the hospital for about a month, and by the time he was discharged, he had made considerable progress. He could talk, none of his body was paralyzed, and he could walk. However, he wasn’t as strong as before and couldn’t be left alone due to his impaired vision.
Despite his recovery, a major challenge has arisen. My dad has insisted on becoming a vegetarian, which he believes is essential to maintaining his health. He attributes his stroke to a spiritual attack and feels that avoiding animal products will help him spiritually.
This decision has caused numerous disagreements, family meetings, and heated arguments, but he remains firm in his belief.
To him, even something as simple as rice mixed with red oil is sufficient, as long as no crayfish, fish, or meat is used in its preparation.
My mom has been doing her best to cater to his dietary preferences by preparing vegan meals and including fruits to ensure some level of variety.
However, I am deeply concerned about his health. He eats very little, and when he doesn’t like the meals prepared for him, he turns to junk food to avoid eating what the rest of the family is having.
His physical appearance is not as healthy as I would like, and I fear he isn’t getting the nutrients he needs.
Recently, he experienced dizziness, which I suspect is due to his lack of a balanced diet.
We spent over a million naira on his treatment to bring him to his current state, and I am scared all our efforts will be in vain.
I’ve tried talking to him and calling him to discuss his diet, but he refuses to change. He insists that even if his health declines, we should respect his decision to remain a vegan.
My mom has been incredibly supportive, doing her best to prepare meals that align with his dietary restrictions, but the strain on her and the rest of the family is evident. The stress of managing separate meals, coupled with the worry about his long-term health, has taken a toll on everyone.
While we respect his beliefs, we are deeply concerned about his health and nutrition.
We have taken to hospital for checkup, he told the doctor that is now okay, he should plead with us to maintain his choice of food
He is so stubborn that he wouldn't listen |

Oluromantic: That's why I support men marrying older or slightly older women. Although women will always be women but there are significant differences.
You think all this thing you listed aren't too cumbersome for the comprehension of someone who believes the man is to do the caring by his age compared to hers. How many sense women get let alone those with younger age older women are self-centred and quick to use reverse psychology |

2aces: Even with all these, Nigerian hackers will still break in your account and get the money, because our banking system is too poros and weak. Best thing to do, after applying all the op recommend, is limit the amount you can transfer at a time with your bank app to the minimum, use your ATM for larger transfers and try not to lose your phone. Number 2 is the ultimate, when a SIM card is locked I wonder how one would get access |

Good morning Nairalanders,
The economy is really crazy and not stable Years ago this is a very substantial capital to startup a business.
In most recent times, can this amount start any business in our current economy?
Location isn't the problem as one may relocate |
