Someone should say something or am I all alone?

do you sell medicated glasses or do u know anywhere I can get one in lagos.? the last one I got was in oshodi market but that place is demolished now. it's not a med. centre or hospital but a shop that sells med glasses. I just need to know the price and the place before leaving Cotonou to come get it there. please people, I need your help

please, I urgently need your help now. someone just told me about going to Australia to work. He told me that I can get a work in a farm or factory in Australia. but you have to apply first for the work. he sounded so real. besides, I have known him for quite a long time now. but the part that got me afraid is where he mentioned application fee of around $150. So I don't know how real this sounds...He told me other many options of travelling to outside country. besides, he works as a ship crew member. at least that's what he told me. please, how possible is it? especially when I have O' level certificate only

Not good!!! In the most stressed period of my lifetime but this gonna be the last time I guess. Come rain come shine, I am never gonna do this again especially at this level.

Although I have not received any notification from them, I guess some people might have unless they misinformed me. Maybe, they mistakenly said 1st march which was sunday instead of 1st april. Whichever way, God knows the best for me.

I once emailed UofT about the mcf scholarship and they said that successful applicants will be notified on 1st march while for unsucessful applicant will be end of April.

You couldn't afford University in Nigeria, you get one abroad and you are concerned with Ranking.......

MSU or McGill or Duke or Arizona or Berkeley. All are great schools, be more concerned about where you as a person would fit in.

RANKING? I cant remember anybody saying he was interested in ranking. As a matter of fact, i would accept any of the mcf unis even if it is in kenya. I asked my question incase I or someone gets an offer from both canadian and american uni? Like I said earlier, this is when you should think about which one you will fit in wella. Once again, am not interested in rankings even for a day. Not only because I cant afford schooling in Nigeria but also because my interest when given the opportunity to choose between 2 or more options, is compatibility. Ben understood where I was headed unto and gave me his replies which I appreciate.

Is studying america better than studying in canada in terms of academic flexibility, toughness of academic curriculum, available opportunities, individual development, value and quality of education etc. Please dont judge based on the online or offline rankings whatsoever. Rankings does not matter but compatibility matters more. Note: I am not asking this for myself or because I have intentions of studying in either location. But i am asking this for knowledge and information sake and so that this thread will serve as a guide to people or students in between opinions on where to study. Most importantly, put getting visa easily into consideration in each case. Please, mod, move to front page if possible. Hey, today is sunday.

i would pick american schools any day any time,cos they have a diversified input level,and you know the more diversified you are the more variously knowledgable you are,the greater the depth of your research as you have access to the richest pool of researchers,canadian schools are rating high anyway,according to one reknowned website Uof T and Mc gill were placed at the 20th and 21st positions respectively, for teaching methodologies at undergraduate level Canadian universities are doing great alongside their american competitors,they emphasize on high grades,and less on graduate programs,i think it is good if your UG education is good enough to launch you into the fray of intellectual competition, in terms of ranking MSU rates close to 180th place,and according to my finding in regards to my discussion with chrisval,they have larger engineering classes,they admitted over a 1000 Engineering students,and the of international students representation there is good enough to be reckoned with,i dont know abt you but some pple prefer relatively smaller classes,and that is more effective in my opinion,also with Uof T according an interview graced by one of their Engineering professors,they admit close to 800 engine students,but they are usually split into 8 sections for effective management,also you would offer one Engineering course in your first year which will properly introduce you to Engineering creativity and design,so if u be sharp guy u go don start dey design car before you go start your majors,you go use your brain,he no be so u want,i will keep streaming in my updates,God Bless Nairaland.

Really happy to be back. I am hyper-filled with expectations. Nowadays, I do check my email(s) up to 1000 times a day followed by this thread followed by minerva and beaspartan portals respectively. Haaa! google is now my first wife.

Mcgill university or michigan state university. Which will you take? Forget the online rankings because they are sometimes sentimental oh. Some unis rank high because of the alumnis they produced , graduate programs they offer, their prestige and fame internationally (looking at cambridge and oxford among few others. Hey! Mcgill had great people like lord rutherford of our high school atomic chemistry who discovered alpha and beta rays). Some of the schools ranked high are not even suited for undergrad program but graduate programs. Some may not have enough international community which can make you look like a minority, some are for geniuses. Believe you me: not everyone is a conc genius. So if you find yourself there, frustration may set in and you wish you were in a tough Nigerian uni solving their unending mathematics. So all things boils down to compatibility. Why would someone drop out of a uni like U of toronto when he had all the finances he needed. Why would an alumni give a very bad review of his school? That is because he never fitted in. Round peg in a square whole. (I hope I quoted it right@benji). So choose and pray wisely. Goodluck to all my fellow ambitious dreamers. Though we dream big, our dreams always comes to reality. In terms of opportunities, academic flexibility and toughness etc. Note: Lets base our analysis on the mastercard schools.
2ndly, if you recieved this scholarship in both Mcgill and Msu, which one will you go for? For me, I will go for ......(*undecided and probably confused*) oh..I will go for one with better undergrad experience and probably easier academic ie flexibility and even more opportunities. I heard that most canadian unis are less easier and have more tough academic curriculum than the american unis. Mind you: am not afraid of the academic curriculum in both schools and I love both. By the way, I have got a long thing.(*smiles*). I am a man. Whats your take on this?
