Christianity EtcAndrew Wommack 3rd March, 2018 Devotional - Quality Prayer by Gospelcaster(op): 5:53am On Mar 03, 2018
Topic: Quality Prayer [Saturday March 3rd, 2018]

Matthew 6:7, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”

Text : Matthew 6:5-8

Some of the most effective prayers are the shortest prayers. Jesus said, “Peace, be still,” and the wind and the waves ceased (Mk. 4:39).
He said, “Lazarus, come forth,” and Lazarus came back from the dead (Jn. 11:43-44).

Today, there is a new emphasis on the quantity of prayer instead of the quality of prayer. Jesus never advocated long prayers, and there are only a few instances where Jesus prayed long prayers. This is not to say that communion with God is not important. It certainly is, but formal prayer is only one part of our communion with the Lord.

Psalm 5:1-2 uses the words “prayer” and “meditation” interchangeably. Therefore, communing with God through keeping your mind stayed on the things of the Lord is also prayer. There are also times in prayer when we need to be still and know that God is God (Ps. 46:10).

Many times we ask the Lord to speak to us, but He can’t get a word in “edge-wise.” We’re doing all the talking.

Christianity EtcIt Is Okay To Be Angry But ......... by Gospelcaster(op): 10:34pm On Mar 02, 2018
Human emotions are transitional. They are quick to
move from one state to another.
The only difference is the rate of change. Some
persons are quick to shift moods while others have
either mastered their emotions or are slow to switch.
Whatever be the case, every human is prone to the
phenomenon of emotional change from time to time.
Anger is one emotion which bears a common ground
of interest in all humans.

Many school of thoughts hold that one must never be
angry and that anger is detrimental to human
progress and so on.

Anger has been made to look like a strange feeling
you mustn’t feel. I am not trying to criticize such
school of thought, I am only trying to point out a
flaw I noticed and that’s the thought of people
believing they are never to get angry and when they
do they feel extremely bad in their inadequacies.
Let me show you a scriptural backing for the
“okayness” of getting angry.
Mark 3:5; “He looked round at them in anger and
deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to
the man, “stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out,
and his hand was completely restored (NIV)

This was our Lord and Saviour, Jesus getting angry.
This event didn’t take place on the streets of
Jerusalem or by the Lake of Galilee. It took place
right in the Synagogue what we call Church today.
Right in the Church, Jesus’ emotions switched to
anger.

Considering the other circumstance, Jesus got angry
just before He healed the man’s shrivelled hand. Do
well to study the passage in Mark 3:1-6 so you grasp
a more concise understanding.

With the established basis wherein Christ was angry,
In the synagogue and before He healed a shrivelled
hand, we see that anger is an acceptable state of
mind.
It is okay to be angry. Man isn’t a perfect being.
Nobody understands you as much as you understand
yourself. Therefore you do not expect everyone to
treat you on the same plane as you’d want to be
treated.

Until I understood the above fact, I stopped trying
not to be angry because I never got angry anymore.
Whenever something happens that threatens to shift
my mood from whatever state to an angry state, I
quickly remember that this person isn’t perfect, he
can’t possibly treat me the way I want to be treated
even if I tell him to. With that anger stays at an arm
length.

I do get angry at times and this theory of mine really
doesn’t have a complete effect on my emotions
which brings about the “but” in the title of this post.
You may get angry but there are certain things you
must observe to do and not to do all of which are
summarized in Apostle Paul’s letter to the Church in
Ephesus in Ephesians 4:26;
“In your anger sin not: Do not let the sun go down
while you are still angry.” (NIV)

It is okay to be angry but do not sin and do not let
the sun go down while you are still angry.
No matter what happens, let the anger that is
swelling in your bowels not cause to you to fall short
of God’s glory.

Countless times I have seen angry persons allow
their emotions to make their mouths move, emitting
very hurtful things. This shouldn’t be so.
In your anger sin not. If you can be angry and not
harbour evil thoughts against your neighbour, swear,
fight, impulse propelled false-witnessing e.t.c then
go ahead and be angry.
But if you would do the above and even more then
do not be angry for any reason.

Another point Apostle Paul raised was not allowing
the sun go down on your anger. Understanding it
from the literary context might prove inadequate.
For instance, what if you get angry when the sun has
gone down already?

The fact is this, do not be angry for too long. The
sun doesn’t have to go down on your anger. Allow it
slide quickly.

Your emotions were made for you, not you for your
emotions. It is therefore in your power to control
your anger. In my honest opinion, try not to be
angry. You may get angry, sin not!

Christianity EtcBilly Graham Devotional For Friday, 2nd March, 2018 - Be Truthful by Gospelcaster(op): 1:39pm On Mar 02, 2018
Topic: Be Truthful [Friday, March 2nd, 2018]

You deserve honesty from the heart; yes,
utter sincerity and truthfulness. Oh, give me
this wisdom. —Psalm 51:6 (TLB)

The Bible teaches that purity of conduct
includes truthfulness. The Bible teaches that
we should be truthful in our representation of
ourselves. With what scorn Christ denounced
the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees!
In the Sermon on the Mount He rebuked all
hypocritical giving, praying, and fasting.

We
should also be truthful in speaking of our
past achievements in our particular vocation.
God does not ask us to understate the facts-
that might even be untruthfulness-but
neither does He want us to overrate our
achievements or our gifts, either in thought
or in speech. A lie is anything contrary to
the naked truth.

Prayer for the day : It is so easy, Lord, to
embellish the truth. Give me Your wisdom to
be completely honest in every phase of my
life.

Christianity EtcOpen Heavens Devotional For Teens [tuesday, 29th August, 2017] - by Gospelcaster(op): 12:59pm On Aug 29, 2017
Topic: The Great Invitation [Tuesday 29, August 2017]
Memorise: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” - Isaiah 1:18
Read: Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 16-17. Hymn: Sing Hymn 4
MESSAGE:
There are numerous invitations we receive during the course of our lifetime, but there is an invitation that changes the life of person permanently and that invitation is only found in Jesus.
It does not matter how far you have gone into the world of sin, Jesus is asking you to come.
There is no sinner without a future and there is no saint without a past, but in Jesus everything becomes new.
One finds peace and rest of mind by understanding that his sins are forgiven by the grace of God through the Blood of Jesus.
You can cast all your worries and anxiety on Jesus; it is a part of your redemption right because all those troubles have been exchanged for peace through His death.
However, you must know that the glory of God is His holiness. His dwelling is in holiness. His way is holy, and His invitation to us is not an invitation to lawlessness but an invitation to holiness.
Key Point: There is no sin that is beyond the redemption at the Cross.

MICAH 7:8 – 'Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the lord will be a light to me'

On the 29th of April this year, Klitschko competed against Anthony Joshua before a capacity-filled Wembley stadium. He lost that match.

Shortly after that, He penned down an article that nay end up more inspiring than all his years in the ring. In the run-up to the fight he had prepared as hard as possible and was confident of victory; but things did not go the way he expected.
One of the things he came up with was a new definition of success. Hear him: 'I now understand that aucess does not really mean achieving a set goal. Instead, success means achieving the best possible result' .

The defeat expanded his worldview and ushered him into a new experience altogether. He had managed his setback well.

Many people have not mastered the art of managing setbacks. That one doesn't reach his set goal at first call doesn't mean he will never reach it. Those who have succeeded will tell you that it was not the first stroke that brought the break through .

Ability to stick around to something for as long as necessary is the bottom line for success. When you fail in doing something, do a bit research to determine the cause of your failure.

this would teach you a vital lesson how not to do it another time. Besides, the experience
gained in your previous attempt may be the salvation someone would need tomorrow to avoid a blunder.

Do not waste any setback; like Klitschko, the least you should come up with is finding new definitions of life.

PRAYER:- Lord, teach me courage in the face of any seeming setback.

Music BusinessLet God Decide If Your Song Is The Best - Frank Edwards To Upcoming Artists by Gospelcaster(op): 6:01am On Jul 16, 2017
Richboy and rock town entertainment foremost act, Frank Edwards has dished out a message to the upsurge and growing trend of artists claiming thier songs are the best songs ever heard.

Speaking via his Instagram page, Franky said it is God who should decide whether a song is the best song ever sang and not the artist singing the song.

He goes further to urge artists not to copy acclaimed artists who do so.

Here is what he wrote:

To my dear upcoming , when next you want to release a new song don’t say things like “HERE COMES THE BEST WORSHIP SONG IN TOWN” or “THE BEST PRAISE SONG IN THE CITY” it does not only sound irritating , it shows the content of your heart and clearly points @ “misplaced priority” arrogance. . God inhabits the praise of “HIS PEOPLE” you can not decide for God what is best for him if you find any established artist saying same. Pls don’t copy them ! Every child of God including the ones that are not trained to sing is a worshiper , the only extra needed is “In spirit & truth God bless you as you keep growing.
