Habakus: In as much as you were not the person I referred to in my quote, I'll give you a few pointers : When a people is not very honest with their history, there's bound to be disaffection within them. Here's what the Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Obateru said here : http://wakaaboutafrica.com/2017/01/04/feuding-facts-fiction-royal-ancestry/ He insisted that Oduduwa was not the founder of the Yorubas. Now, you don't have to dismiss his postulation with a wave of hand, because it is very certain that when Oduduwa came ( where he came from is debatable) , he met some people there. People were already on ground there. Now the questions are : Who were those people? Were they Yorubas? If they were Yorubas, why do some of the present Yorubas posit that Oduduwa was the progenitor of the Yorubas? Now check this out : The title of the ruler is ' Olugbo of Ugbo '. Olugbo is clearly an ethnic Igbo word. It even has the 'Olulo Udaume ' that is consistent and common in the Igbo language Structure. The 'Ugbo ' itself is also an Igbo word. All these are not by chance. Also, Abeokuta which is a place presently in Sw is indisputably Igbo word. Abeokuta simply means 'ebe okute,ie, place of stone. I'm very much aware that the Yorubas have a similar word for translated to stone. Ask yourself this: why such similarity? Does it mean the Igbos in far away east adopted that word in their language from the Yorubas from antiquity? Or what? You also have to take into account the story of Moremi of Yoruba history. Who were the people Moremi manipulated? There's another thing: If you objectively and carefully observe the physical appearance of the present day Yorubas, you'd see a very marked inconsistence in their physical characteristics. Certain Yorubas from certain parts of Sw have more closer resemblance with the Igbos than the normal 'Yoruba characteristics'. What does 'Ile ife' mean in Yoruba language? The Internet is plentiful with rich sources were you can get the true account of Histories, if you know where to look with an open mind. How do you think that the Yorubas came about the 'Igbo ' word in their language? I leave you to research. Abeg, people shift make i faint. These people will soon tell you how the occupy Kano first, how kaduna is igbo name. I won faint. I must faint. Wait, seem Belgium is also an igbo name hehehehe. My people, come and carry me o. Ugbo and abeokuta igbo names. I yaff die. Mr habakus has brought another blockbuster. Na so one dey tell me the other day how Japan is igbo name called ja pa.

Business › Ratan Tata Is Richer Than Bill Gates And Yet Not In The List Of Billionaires, He by Gotze1(op): 6:55pm On Nov 04, 2017 |
Bill Gates maintains his position as the world’s richest man in the Forbes annual list with a net worth of $86.0 billion. Warren Buffet, with a net worth of $75.6 billion, stands at No.2, followed by big names including Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and others.
But, you’ll be amazed to know that there actually is a multinational company that is making more money than all those whose Chairpersons make it to the list of the wealthiest people on the globe. And this conglomerate is none other than the Tata Group of India.
The company was founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868 and gained international recognition after its association with various brands worldwide. Today, they are running 96 companies and there exist 30 publically listed Tata enterprises including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Global Beverages, Tata Teleservices, Titan, Tata Communications, Taj Group and several more, with a with a combined market capitalisation of about $130 billion. In India, 4 out 5 top-ranked “Responsible business” companies belong the Tata Group.
Why then is Ratan Tata, the former Chairperson, and the Tata family’s heir, never named among those making an insane amount of money?
It is because 65% of the family’s and the company’s fortune is given away as charity. Thus, the profit made by many enterprises goes to charitable organizations and is not added in Ratan Tata’s personal financial statement. Ratan Tata’s net worth as an individual does not cross the 1 billion mark.
Born on 28 December 1937, Ratan Tata is the son of Naval Tata, whom Navajbai Tata adopted from J. N. Petit Parsi Orphanage. He studied B. Arch. at Cornell University, and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1975. He took up the position of Tata Group’s chairman in 1991. Under his administration, the company’s revenue increased by 40% and its profit by 50%.
The Tata family has been involved in philanthropic work since their establishment. They have contributed a lot to the betterment of healthcare facilities, improving the education system, fighting for equal rights, sports, and preservation of arts in India.
They were awarded the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy in 2007.
Their charity work is not limited to India but they give away a percentage of their profit for international causes too.
Tata group donated ₹ 2.20 billion ($50 million) to the Harvard Business School, the largest amount received by the institute from an international donor.

They also launched an in-home water-purification device, called Tata swach. This amazing product was sold for less than 1000 rupees (US$21).
“What I would like to do is to leave behind a sustainable entity of a set of companies that operate in an exemplary manner in terms of ethics, values and continue what our ancestors left behind”– Ratan Tata
Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) designed a software that claims to teach an illiterate person how to read within 40 hours.
Tata Chemicals
The company makes sure its employees are taken care of. They introduced modern pension system, medical facilities, maternity leaves, and much more in their offices all over India.
After the Taj hotel was attacked, the Tata Group did not leave its employees helpless while the building was being renovated and was dysfunctional. In fact, all of the stuff kept receiving their paychecks throughout this time. The company also compensated the railway employees, police staff, and even the pedestrians, the market vendors, and the shopkeepers.
Following are some of their amazing institutes working for social welfare:
The Energy and Resources Institute, a non-governmental research institute The JRD Tata Ecotechnology Centre National Centre for Performing Arts Tata Center for Technology & Design at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Tata Centre for Technology & Design at IIT Bombay Tata Cricket Academy Tata Football Academy Tata Institute of Social Sciences Tata Management Training Centre Tata Medical Center, inaugurated on 16 May 2011 by Ratan Tata Tata Memorial Hospital Tata Trusts, a group of philanthropic organizations Tata Cancer Hospital
Tata
Recently, the Tata Group announced that they’ll work to completely eradicate malaria from India. $70 million will be invested in constructing The Tata Institute of Genetics and Society in Bengaluru that will modify the DNA of Indian mosquitoes to make the country free of this deadly disease. Ratan Tata will himself hold a position as a trustee of the institute.
Thus, it is this vast variety of welfare work done on gigantic scales because of which the company cannot claim to be named among the richest ones in the world. Their priority is not making to any lists but to actually do valuable thinks to make this world a better place to live in. The love of public for Ratan Tata and the respect they give him is sufficient to make him feel like the wealthiest, the happiest, and the most satisfied man alive.

Romance › Re: Opinion: What Hustling Guys Should Note Before Dating Flashy/Materialistic Lady by Gotze1: 4:55pm On Nov 04, 2017 |
wristbangle: We live in a part of the world where many guys are attracted to flashy and materialistic ladies forgetting that most of these ladies are no go area for any sane man who wants to live a fulfilled life.
However, flashy and materialistic ladies are usually very lazy and unproductive set of people. They have no other thing they are thinking rather than taxing guys for money simply because they so much believe that life revolves around their butts and bosoms. All they talk about is how they can't settle down with a man that earns nothing less than 200k per month even though they themselves have not paid back the N50 they borrowed from MTN for the past three month.
Many a times, you see them artificially dressed from head to toe, always on designer shoes, bags, heavy make-up, massive bosoms and butts and they begin to walk like when Jesus rode on a donkey.
It has been observed that some guys shamelessly lust after these dumb, greedy yet unproductive ladies who only enjoy the comfort of what their pockets will bring to them.
Of recent, guys are now becoming wiser that they have come to realise that getting entangled with a lady who is lazy yet financially bankrupt is a big disaster to their ministry.
Church girls are not in any way different as some of them are mere pretenders, repackaged olosho who disguise as angels of light to deceive a brother in the church.
It's high time guys opened their eyes and realize that the height they will attain in life largely depends on the kind of ladies they choose as companions. If you find yourself dating a lady who can't do without talking about elaborate wedding, how stunning she wants to look and how she wants the jaw of people to break each time she walk, then you should know that your salary will definitely be responsible for that.
Take for example, when you get married to an unsatisfied and unrepentant slay queen, how long will you constantly cater for her personal needs which ordinarily would gulp up your whole salary?. Using your salary or little earnings to make her happy when your mates are already buying lands and building houses when you're still at one spot?
Let's take a look at it from another angle. Imagine a situation where your monthly income is 80k per month. The cost of accommodation may gulp up to 7k on monthly basis depending on the location. Feeding, electricity bill, transport and miscellaneous may gulp to 30k leaving you with only 47k per month. Imagine your parasitic girlfriend always disturbing every now and then for her hair, monthly data subscription and frivolities, why won't you remain on a spot? And if standards are not met, she would resort to extra marital affairs and rob it on your face.
From the above explanation, can you see why some guys have no savings even if their salaries are overwhelming? Meanwhile a wise guy who earns less but knows his way around these flashy and parasitic ladies would have something tangible to boast of as savings at the end of the month.
It's hightime we give ourselves brain. Don't go for stunning ladies because you want people to cheer you up each walking with her on the street but go for a career driven lady with great potentials.
And lastly, don't go for ladies with feminism ideology. They are nothing but waste of time. They are the worst kind of ladies you can ever date. All they need talking about is how they can't offer financial assistance to a man and how they want to be the boss of the relationship/marriage .
A word is enough for the wise. Happy weekend Slay queens right now

[s] devindevin2000: Fiscal Sustainability Index Released shows That Yorubaas are Worst Off Than Northerners https://www.nairaland.com/4156416/2017-fiscal-sustainability-index-states
When talk about SW not doing well as proclaimed, people attack me and think I'm being tribalistic...no, I'm not. I know these people very well because I grew up in SW and speak fluent yorubaa. These people are worst than Northerners....take it from me and I'm not exaggerating. They hide under one Nigeria, using bogus statistics to deceive you they are doing well. Have you noticed that when government agencies' supported statistics are released, they are always behind? Because these are free from their propaganda. But ironically when private agencies release stats, mostly owned by yorubas agencies, they rate themselves high, deceiving you they are doing well.
I'm not surprised that Ekiti and Osun are last, an indication they are worst than northerners. The only reason Lagos is at the top is because it's occupied and built by non yorubaas. And also the only reason Ogun is there is because it's close to Lagos; kind of like how Asaba is close to Onitsha.
I opened this thread months back alarming Nigerians That SW have exceeded their borrowing limits, meaning that BANKS WILL NO LONGER LOAN THEM MONEY. IN ORDER WORDS, WITHOUT NIGER DELTA OIL MONEY THEY WILL GO EXTINCT. I'M NOT JOKING THESE ARE FACTS. Not Surprised All Yoruba States Have Exceeded Their Borrowing Limits. https://www.nairaland.com/4084495/not-surprised-all-south-west [/s]Why are your people keep running to our land if I may ask.
