Pavore9: It is not so. Go read up on zero grazing, hydroponic fodder, urban diary farming etc
I work in Kenya and one of our centres has 9 cows and they are in their stalls where they are well taken care of and each averages 24 litres of milk daily without stressing them with roaming about. We talking about almost 11 million cattle here!!! Not subsistence farming |

I sincerely wish you are young because hopefully there is still a little time left to get some sense and learn about how life really is You are talking of how to end attack. So you believe you know why attacks are happening? How do you know this? It is not rocket science that the Fulani herdsmen moves about with their cows from one state to another in other to find food for their life stock and if transporting them from one region to another when the grass on the reserve is diminished through trains or lorry for adequate feeding of life stock product. Tell me where does the problem want to come out from. |

Alariwo2: Not only Abia.. Enugu, Imo, Anambra and Ebonyi inclusive
Cut their food and meat supplies if they do anyhow. They will end up begging U are going to far!!! Food should never have been used as a tool for war!! I strongly advocate for one Nigeria. We have used tribalism to diminish our growth. A yoruba man won't allow a fulani man access because he feels marginalised or believes that more importance is been giving to a particular region forgetting the disaster that can be prevented from just allowing common sense and unity to rule |

believe it or not d massacre in benue was a deliberate violent act by these Jihadist to promote grazing reserve. I don't expect anything better from a biafra bigot. How is Nnamdi kanu!!! In ur kind opinion the Fulani herdsmen should be left the way they are?? |

obaaderemi: Idiot, if the Fulani herdsmen want land anywhere, they should negotiate like everybody else and stop riding on the back of federal government. When they buy this lands and refuse to fence it due to cost. And u encroach on their land or worst case scenario their cow decided to eat ur crops and u kill the cow . The following day they bring guns to retaliate. Ve u solved the problem.. See an organized grazing reserve is the solution |

ODVanguard: Fvck it. You know what? On a second thought, I think the situation has deteriorated beyond where folks would be willing to sell or lease land to them sef, seeing how these terrorist so-called herdsmen sadistically dismember their victims. At this point, I don't think they have much goodwill left, except perhaps in Kogi where that ass-licker of a governor is willing to sacrifice his people's lives, safety, and future just coz he's sucking up to Buhari. Kogi state governor is a true Nigerian with foresight and u need to understand that it not about the land it is about the safety of his people not that am saying herds men are stronger than our security forces. But Kogi governor has just protected his people from feature confrontation with herds men |

ODVanguard: Op, I have a better idea. Why don't the Fulani herdsmen or their bosses simply BUY/lease land from their host communities like any normal person would, instead of this sense of entitlement to perpetually graze on other people's lands and farms for free?? They are the only set of folks I know who feel they have a birthright to graze their cattle on other people's farms and land without the owners consent and still have the effrontery to butcher the landowners when they protest. I put it to you that, that's bullshyt. Like I said even if the lands could be bought from the state government!! See the amount of land that was bought by churches in ogun state did any community person die about it!! Since they killed those people in benue have u out of annoyance stopped buying meat. Let's be truthful to ourself this is a product we consume daily and can't do without if this suggestions are implemented then I believe Nigeria is going somewhere. There are lands that can be bought for this purpose maybe state boundaries can be used.?? My suggestion is instead of towing tribal line. a lasting solution should be our concerns Would this leased land be fenced cos if it won't then you putting the host Community in danger |

It is no longer news that abia state government has rejected any plan of federal government to use its land as a grazing reserve. I really don't blame them due to the herds men reputation of late which has been soiled further by the recent Killing in benue state.
Abia state is a state that has little or no federal government presence. So you can imagine my shock when even without been named the government is in a hurry to reject this offer without even hearing what federal government plan
If federal government is serious about ending the menace caused by cattle rearers then I would suggest the following which will make States like abia state regrets it's decision
1) federal government should encourage sells of packaged meat products
2) grazing reserve land should be allocated or bought from 6 States in 6 geopolitical zone by both government and private enterprise
3) grazing land should be adequately fenced and local indigene should be used as security
4) open land grazing law should be enacted with serous fine. Nobody should be seen with cattle on roads or Street
5) adequate transportation should be provided to move this life stock from one grazing reserve to another..
Most of you won't agree but if this my little common sense can be implemented I believe this could be the end of fulani attack. |
Politics › Re: Governor Ikpeazu Rejects Cattle Colony For Herdsmen In Abia State by Gpdwise(m): 5:35pm On Jan 12, 2018 |
There is nothing wrong for fulani herds men to acquire lands for grazing of there cattle. I buy the meat I eat it isn't free !! It's high time Nigeria starts learning how to package life stock product. Must fulani herds men transport live cattle from one state to another. If it's the sourcing of the cattle feed can't an arrangement be negotiated where youths in the south will be gainfully employed because they venture into cultivation of grass. Let's say the Federal government wants to allocate land!! Would the land be every state or on regional geographic location. Would transportation be offered to them when they want to move from one point to another because if transportation won't be given to them of what use is this reserve that states are rejecting. I would advice abia state should not be in a hurry to reject this grazing reserve. If FG is serious about grazing reserve then the government needs to partner with both state and private enterprise because if this reserve are operational with adequate fencing and indigenous security then I see a better Nigeria. I just want to make common sense |
