Visa approved, Monday 25th at Abuja embassy. Window 6
After my third attempt. First one was October 19th 2018, second was 4th of January 2019. And the 3rd was Monday this week.
All glory to God because He actually did this for me.
Thanks to everyone here who helped me one way or the other.
I really appreciate you guys. Here goes my transcript

Vo: Good morning
Res: Good morning sir
Vo: Pass me your passport and I-20 pls
Vo: Have you traveled on another passport before?
Res: no sir
Vo: can I have the passport
Res: I said no sir
Vo: oh sorry I didn't hear that clearly. Why are you going to this school ?
Res: Am going for my masters in computer science and quantitative methods with a concentration in information assurance and security but on my l-20 it was written there as Data modeling...(he didn't allow me to finish the statement)
Vo: that's ok. How do you want to pay for the cost?
Res: I was offered a graduate assistantship that waived my entire tuition with monthly stipend the rest of the cost will be taking care by my uncle who's into importation trading and distribution of LG brand both home appliances and electronics. I have his statement here with me
Vo: that's OK... I won't be needing the statement. The assistantship has covered everything. Where did you finish your undergraduate (I guess he asked that because I couldn't enter my educational history on my ds 160 when I was filling it. I don't know why the part is not coming up on my system.)
Res: Osun State University.

Vo: Why do you choose this school ?
Res: I chose the school because they offered broad courses in information assurance and security. Their program incorporate field work with basic course. For example.. (he stopped me here)
Vo:thats OK. How did you get this assistantship?
Res: I applied then I was scheduled for a Skype interview, a week after the interview I received an email from the department that based on my performance during the interview, my gre scores, my undergraduate cgpa and recommendations, the department was willing to offer me the assistantship.
Vo: what do u intend to do after your study?
Res : ( but I thought he asked what the degree will do for me, so responded with this with the look of things in Nigeria cyber crime and attacks are becoming common place, sophisticated and damaging. Every organisation has (he stopped me and asked again)
Vo: what do you intend to do after your study?
Res: I'll be coming back to Nigeria to enforce whatever have learnt because there's a huge demand for cybersecurity experts here in Nigeria. A lot of organization outsource for this skill because its professional expertise... (he stopped me here, thats OK)

After this he started typing non stop and said the word *your visa has been approved, you will need your l-20 at the port of entry bla bla.
I collected my passport today.

[quote author=ccemmekus post=68255076]Hi Guys,
So I had my visa interview on the 31st of May. I was put on administrative processing cos I was going for Information Assurance which is on the Technology Alert List so they had to run further security checks on me. My visa status changed to Issued yesterday.

So here is my transcript.

I got to the consulate by 6.25 as against my 6.45 interview time. It was mad weird to see so many Nigerians dressed and behaving so properly. Mad

V.O: Goodmorning
Me: Hi, Good Morning
V.O: Visa and I-20 please. *I give him*
V.O:What are you going to study in America
Me: I'm going for an M.sc in Information assurance and Cybersecurity at St. Cloud State University In St. Cloud, Minnesota.
V.O: What did you do in Undergrad?
Me: I have a B.Eng in Elect/Elect Eng, From Afe Babalola university.
V.O: When was this
Me: 2016
V.O: What have you been doing since then? You just finished NYSc right?
Me: Yea, I'm an Azure tech Support Engineer for XYZ Firm.
V.O: Who is paying for your expenses?
Me: My mum who is a lecturer at XYZ Uni and here is her bank statement.
*He looks at Bank Statement for sometime while typing furiously*
V.O: I will hold on to your passport, I-20 and bank statement, I still need to run more checks on you. You will hear from the consulate soon.

I'm very grateful to this forum and I wish all the intending applicants the best of luck.[/......]

BlowJobs:
Let me share another motivation with my naija youths here

I cried when we moved 2weeks ago to a new appartment.
I went through some of my old things cos my wife wants us to donate what we don't need. Inside one of my books from naija, í saw the rest of my Alawi from 2013 that I didn'tspend. Then I remembered I got late to the airport due to traffic and airport workers were trying to delay me so I can "Roger" them. I had intended to spend that money on buying credit so I can call my family when I land but didn't have time. I hid it between one of my books so they don't take it from me

l remembers the struggles I went through and I am thankful

Like I said, if there's a job already waiting for you after service I wish you good luck.
If you know you don't have no clear direction for where you life is going with all the efforts you're putting in, while you apply for jobs I will encourage you to also start applying to migrate. You only have one life to live

I can attest to it. Once you leave naija and you have a solid plan, you'd be surprised the pace by which your life will move.
have been a silent reader of all your posts, all are indeed helpful. please I need your guidance concerning what have been hearing. I'm just preparing to go for my msc come spring 2019.

I want to know if it's possible to stay back like change status after my program and start working.

I heard that it is very difficult for a lady to get a permanent resident, how true is this.

Does age matter in getting a F-1 visa for master program? As a lady if you are between 29 and 30, not married yet, can this affect her visa being approved, considering she's aged and not married?
thank you

Hi guys, I got a lot from this tread and I know it's only natural to give back. Visa approved on the 25th of April and this is how it went.

VO: (with a smile) Good morning.

Me: Good morning sir.

VO: How are you?

Me: I'm fine thank you? How are you?

VO: I'm fine. Thank you. (I have already passed my passport, sevis receipt and i20 to him by now). So, you're here for a student visa.

Me: Yeah.

VO: Tell me about the program you're going for.

Me: I'm going for a chemistry doctoral program at Florida State University. I'd be taking courses in Molecular biology, cell biology, bioinformatics... (he motioned for me to stop).

VO: Tell me about your background.

Me: I have a bachelors degree in Chemistry and Masters degree in analytical chemistry. I currently work at a Pharmaceutical firm as a Medical Sales Representative (motioned me to stop. He was typing all along).

VO: So your 2nd degree is from University of Ibadan?

Me: Yes

VO: And you've being working at a pharmaceutical firm since...

Me: February last year (he nodded).

VO: how many other schools did you apply to?

Me: five others.

VO: five in total?

Me: no. Five others aside FSU.

VO: oh... Six in total. Who's paying?

Me: I got a graduate Assistantship (nods and reaches for white paper).

VO: I have approved your visa. Congratulations and have a good day (I didn't here more than this).

Me: Thank you. Have a good day too.

Thanks to everyone in here whose stories have one time or the other inspired hope.
