The milk of it, the "Nunu" Or "Nono", has always been Raw Milk, direct from cow. Nothing nothing done to it, just that |

The Milk part In the Fura Do Nono (or Fura De Nunu), is from Raw milk? All these years, something that has become fairly common amongst the southerners too, a lot of Lagos people now drink. No Pasteurization, no processing or anything whatsoever? Not in the most basic form, nothing nothing |

An interesting, extensive conversation.
Why aren't more people farming it, why isn't it common in the market options? Or is it harder to sell? |
Agriculture › Native Beans Or Local Beans, what is your experience Farming It? by GreaterFuture(op): 2:20pm On Jun 22, 2025*. Modified: 9:50am On Jun 23, 2025 |
Would like to understand or know more on this, an extensive discussion. This Native or local beans, known by most Nigeriana from east to west. There are 3 types; the brown one, used by Wakye people, the White one and the other one, their one.
Based on a few encounters and conversations I had recently, all saying the same or similar things about it. Some of the recurrent things said about it are: - They said it's much easier to cultivate - Bears more, more seeds and Bags - Little to no effort - No need for spraying too much. This, a major part, expense, hazard & hygienic talk to the Beans consumption, Nutrition-safety and farming conversation - And very surprisingly, it's higher in price. Much higher or sizeably higher than other major ones sold and eaten by the general populace.
If it's so why aren't so many things adding up, like more people into Farming it?
What is your personal experience? From the cultivation of it, to selling it? |

Science had gone far and you need not argue on most of this things
This variety is very popular in Maiduguri and the far north whose ecology hardly experience sufficient rainfall for cultivation
It is called Kwankwaso cowpea

LocalFARMERS: This year has been a blessed year to most farmers. I had a bountiful harvest from my beans farm this year. I sold over 20 bags and I kept enough to last me the next 12 months in my house. Apart from the ones I shared to family, friends and neighbors.
Farming is very lucrative these days. It's easy to become a millionaire via farming now. As few bags of farm produce will give you millions. 20 bags from how many plots or Acres of land? How many total? |
