Crime / Re: NDLEA Questions Obi Cubana Over Alleged Drug Links by greatestunclebe: 7:04am On Jan 14, 2022
Obi Cubana runs a club. If you are a clubber, you see that people spend 10m and more in one night. I have been in a club where someone spent 13m on drinks alone. And then these guys sometimes are allowed or given special tables on credits of 5m and more. So spend, but pay later. This is the only way clubs earn big. Cos the big customers are credit worthy in the club. What NDLEA also refused to mention was the amount paid in. It could be #50,000(Fifty thousand Naira). But for the sake of public stunt and to spoil his name they are announcing it this way. Obi i know cant be so foolish to use his account to take drug payment when bitcoin options are there. So he is innocent. But We are watching.

Education / Oldboy’s Association Kick-starts Scholarship Programme For Its Alma Mater by greatestunclebe: 12:37pm On Dec 07, 2021
The Oldboys' Association of the prestigious Government Secondary School Afikpo (2003 set) has initialized a scholarship programme which will take care of WASSCE registration for the concerned lucky students.
This is indeed epoch making and unprecedented gesture from the 2003 set led by Comr. Otuu Obinna Ogbonnia, a Lecturer from Federal Polytechnic Oko and NITDA Scholarship Award Winner, who recently was all over the media for gifting his best project students with N10, 000 each.
The yardsticks for picking the WASSCE Scholarship students were weighed on the scale of Academic Performance and Family background. Hence, the only ones considered for the Scholarship were the intelligent students who are finding it difficult to register for the forthcoming WASSCE. Indebt classroom analysis and facts findings involving the SS3 students, the teachers and staff were carried out by the Scholarship Standing Committee before the final selection was made.
Envelopes were given to the lucky students, each containing #18,000 for the purchase of their WASSCE.
According to Comr.Otuu, “This is just a little way of giving back to our alma mater and humanity; while working in tandem with the vision of the general Alumni Association which is ‘To feed the hungry minds of Sub-Saharan Africa by promoting education at all levels but especially at its most crucial juncture, the secondary level’, as conspicuously seen in our website https://gssaaa.org/about/mission/. While in Government Secondary School, I found out that there were brilliant students who could not register their WASSCE. This disfigured their potentials and hitherto, they have not found stepping stones. So, we really need to start in our own little way to change such narratives. We took over office from the past Excos and I thought it wise to bring this to the table; by God's grace, my members gave a heavy nod to it, with the financial support of our Patron, Engr Ogbonnia Okoronkwo who has been a light on our path. The scholarship is going to be an annual event, and it will continue till 2024, when my tenure will elapse as the President of the Association. I also hope that the next President will continue the gesture. Meanwhile, I appreciate the entire 2003 set for putting hands on deck to support this project both morally and financially.”
The Committee Chairman, Mr Okereke Francis who is a Staff of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, while leading delegation on behalf of the Oldboy’s association, stressed the need for other sets to come on board as to eradicate issues of dropout syndrome, mostly caused by lack of WASSCE registration finances.
While thanking the delegation, the Principal of the prestigious Institution, Mr. Nnachi John Ulu, who was wowed by such wonderful benevolence, thanked the entire 2003 GSSA set for setting pace through which others are envisaged to follow soon. He prayed for more open doors for those who contributed to the success of the scholarship programme.
The parents of the Scholarship recipients were not also left out in praises. They unanimously thanked the Oldboys and prayed for more successes and achievements in their endeavors, while wishing for other institutions to emulate the precedents of the great family of GSSA Oldboys.

Travel / End Extortion In Immigration Now Or The Youths Will Arise! by greatestunclebe: 10:43am On Dec 02, 2021
Who has noticed that for a full one year now or more, the Nigerian Immigration Service officers treat people anyhow just to let them get an International Passport. Worst of all is that the service charges are too high. The Extortion has become too much that from the Gateman's desk you have to start dropping money until you get to the capture room. This is evil and the Government should look into this. How can someone pay N80,000 to have an International passport under the guise and pretense that there is no printing material. After, they will say is Buhari, even when they cant do the right thing in their offices. Anambra State office is the worst. You have to pay through your nose and then one officer will tell you to come next week or you go to Abakaliki and capture. We must rise against this injustice. SARS is not the only cankerworm to be ended, but Immigration Extortion should be ended too.

Education / Oko Polytechnic Lecturer Gifts His Best Project Students N10,000 (Photo) by greatestunclebe: 9:29pm On Jul 31, 2021
Two National Diploma students of the Computer Science department, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State were surprised with an envelope of N10, 000 by their project supervisor, Otuu Obinna Ogbonnia at the project defense ground on 31st of July, 2021.

The students, Onuoraha Ikechukwu Emmanuel and Azodo Chukwunonye Stella, designed a Motion Detection System for home use. A device which blares an alarm when an intruder enters the home or office. It also has an SMS module which is used to signal the owner of the house by SMS, that there is an intruder.

This astonishing and epoch making fit, especially in a National Diploma project level, propelled the supervisor to award the supervisees not just by grade, but financially as to activate the seriousness of other students.

His words “I am so elated at their achievement at this level. Actually, when they brought this topic for approval, I almost changed it thinking it was too advanced for them. However, they insisted and gave me reasons why they will deliver the device on or before defense day. Surprisingly, they did as assured. I gave them both academic and parental guidance during the process, but never knew the device would perform perfectly as it did today. If I had more than the content of this envelope, I would have given to them for applauds and to propel other students to do better next year. I shall also deliver this job to the Innovation driven Rector, Dr Nwafulugo Francisca U. who has a dogged passion for novelties as this".

At the award giving scene, the Head of Department, Dr.Mrs Ezeasomba Irene who was joyous with the achievement of the duo, encouraged the students to step up their game in adding more features to the device, as such can be used as projects in Higher Academic Programmes and can be given patent for future income. The Project Coordinator, Dr. Nwachukwu Nwosu who flanked the HOD, also couldn’t hide his goodwill for the project team. He encouraged them to do more microcontroller jobs and advised that they should add machine learning modules, as to detect varying degrees of objects around homes, offices and industries. The device was mounted on the top edge of the entrance to the defense hall, as exemplified by the attached picture (white box on top of the supervisors head in the image).
CONGRATS TO THE DUO!

Crime / Man Brutalizes His Pregnant Wife To Coma by greatestunclebe: 11:21am On Jun 15, 2020
A man, Egwu Francis Emmanuel has beaten his wife, Mrs Ezinne to coma in the suburb of Amachara Village in Afikpo North LGA of Ebonyi State. According to an eye witness who couldnt report to the Police for fear of being killed by the culprit who is notoriously known for cult related activities, "this incidence is a repeated occurrence in the neighborhood. Even the wife is afraid to run away from the marriage as she is afraid of what may be her fate next. As am talking to you now, she is lying in coma in Medical Center Afikpo. And the husband is still bragging outside of the hospital to pounce on her immediately she regains consciousness. If i see who can have the courage to report this young man to the police, then I will be most grateful because he does all these because his immediate elder brother is a Barrister and he brags that nothing can happen to him. So, I am appealing to well meaning Nigerians, especially organizations who fight domestic violence to come to the rescue of this lady who already had two children for the husband".

Crime / New Breed Of Physical Ponzi Fraudsters In Anambra And Beyond by greatestunclebe: 7:39am On May 21, 2018
There are new breed of fraudsters in Anambra State and even beyond. These people defraud and syphon unsuspecting and unaware clients of their hard earned monies. They open a shop near a booming market which wouldn’t last for more than one week. They employ innocent marketers, mostly students who would go into the market and its environ to advertise their services of saving scheme that pays additional 30% of any amount in 7 days (Physical Ponzi Scheme). They don’t don’t accept bank deposits as to avoid transaction traces but use the innocent marketers to collect cash. A friend who deposited 800k begged the coordinator to release his account number for the deposit but he said they don’t do bank deposits, but that he can pay into the account of one of the marketers who would then go and make the withdrawals and submit to them at hand. It was also discovered that they use charm to hypnotize their clients. In their first days, they pray heaven down and share drinks to people around to make it look like a born-again affair. The group that left Ekwueme Plaza at Eke Oko market left with a whooping sum, about 10million naira in just 4 days. The Students of Federal Polytechnic Oko who were used for marketing just to make ends meet are now the second hand victims as many have been picked by Police while some have gone at large as their various accounts were used to get the deposits. Please, you are hereby warned not to fall such victim either as a client or marketer. Also, if you see any such new office recruiting people or deceiving people for related purpose, call 08035228116 immediately. Thanks!

Events / Ekwueme’s Funeral-ngige, Onu Conduct Oversight Inspection Of Preparedness: by greatestunclebe: 6:43pm On Jan 27, 2018
The Minister for Labour and Employment Senator Chris Ngige walked around the clock to inspect the ongoing preparation of Late Vice President, Dr.Alex Ekwueme today.
Flanked by the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Prof.Godwin Onu, Ngige visited all mapped out funeral locations, including the family house of the late elder statesman where serious and pragmatic renovations were going on at the time of filling this report. He charged the men who he met on sites to do well and deliver their work as planned as to embrace the on-time principle. The sites he visited with his entourage were Ekwueme’s tomb, pedestrian routs to and from Ekwueme’s compound, Nri-Nise road maintenance point, Agulu to Awka road maintenance point and so many other axis that link to Ekwulobia/Oko.
While responding to questions from the press, Ngige said he was sure that the Vice President, Osibanjo must be present throughout the burial period but not sure if President Buhari would make it. He also maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari budgeted enough for the burial and that the president has not since elected into power, given respect and concentration to any statesman as he has given to Ekwueme.
When asked if he was aware that South-Eastern Governors were mandated to contribute 50Million naira each to support the burial funding, a good looking Sen. Ngige retorted that he was not in the Governor’s committee to know what they planned already. His words “The South Eastern Governors have a forum and already formed a committee to honor the late Vice president. The committee should know better, not me. So I can’t tell.”
He concluded that the burial committee will deliver in its task of giving the Late VP, Dr.Alex Ekwueme, a befitting burial as long as he was in the burial committee set by the Federal Government.

Uncompromised Mirror. By Otuu Obinna.

We that are on coastlands
We just assume about arid lands
We the desert dwellers scuff over the South
The Nomads who walk the forests sacking villages in fear
Parading deadly weapons with great unseen backups
Feared by peasant innocent farmers who have no one speaking up.

Invasion termed clashes
Being politically correct while men die in batches
The press cower in dread of lock up
All human right activists got a new mouth gag against "speak up"

Generations will ask our generation in history classes
How did you perceive the national scare terror invasion?
How come no one spoke up against their unseen back ups?

Miyetti Allah Associations so boldly backing murders
They threaten villagers with impunity and no one bothers
They challenge new laws and break old ones with utter grin.
No one challenges their ethnic supremacy.

More than 10000 people wasted and those are just numbers
Those in power call terrors clashes to stay in power.
My heart cries out for justice and I must speak up.
Blood flows in a hundred villages from a thousand slain
They cry out for justice but those in power look away.

Through what lenses does our number one and His ethnic brothers see terror against other ethnic groups.
Do they still ear the "Google's of war" selectively expressing supremacy?
Are they insulting our intelligence, parading power of incumbency?

But why is this Fulani age so bloody and full of impunity?
I am only a Nigerian but I question "this equal rights age"
Anarchy is allowed and defended in the rural paths where the herdsmen graze.
Village dwellers have been sold to slavery in fear of herdsmen's craze.
Blood flows daily from humans but those of cows now have more value
And I question the soundness and reasoning of those in power
Iniquity and injustice against the defenceless they least value
Will never go unavenged by the future generation of just system and power.

My soul is crushed as I write bottling my tears.
These tears crystallize in words I scrible for ages to read that care
A whole age bewitched by gains from those in power
And everyone looks away why murderers graze their cows on blood stained fields.

Police have lost their power to secure lives and maintain order in villages.
They have given licence to herdsmen to visit villages as savages.
My soul bleeds for children made orphans
Children watch their parents being slain as they turn orphans.
Parading cows and raping women carelessly
They do rampage in villages turning women to widows mercilessly.

I write to tell future generation that I didn't keep quiet.
I am speaking up because I rejected the mirrors those in power see from.
I broke the lends of the mortgaged press age who live for their belly.
I refused to see through their compromised lenses.
As they share blurred lenses for fear or gain, Why?? Why??

How long will the weak be killed for us to arrest the killers?
How much of the weak will die before those in power change lenses
When they look into the Oath they swore and get a living conscience.
They hired shameless men and women to defend their impunity.

Spokesmen bought to defend savagery and promote impunity
Spokesmen paid to strip fellow citizens of their rights and dignity.
They blurt their worst venom on those who challenge political insensitivity.
We call it image making but we make image with blood of electorates.
We engage professional verbal make up artists to cover up iniquity.
The thrones in Nigeria know no more honour and see no more good.
They strangle the law and murder truth in law meetings
They make a charade of justice and usurp the powers of citizenship.

Give the Leaders my uncompromised mirror let them see themselves a little bit.
Serve them my "word lens" so they see through their impunity.
They sit drunk in praise of sycophants and forget their Oath of office.
They sleep in stuporous integrity from past decorations.
They juncate nations correcting violations they spearhead back home.
My soul bleeds for the foolhardy of Leaders who can't see beyond their noses.
And even more amazed at the ethnic zombies they command their respect.

Give the leaders my mirror just for a moment let them see the helpless slain under their watch.

They are twin artists from Ebonyi State of Nigeria who have been on the corridor of blowing into the Nigerian Music Playfloor since 2001 but released their debut album titled “QUENCH DA FIRE” in 2009 at Afikpo-Chic Hotel (CLUB DE MARIA) belonging to the famous lawmaker, Maria Ude Nwachi who is the founder of Igboist. Formally based in Ghana, E-SQUARE was their performance name, but it was dropped after the rise of P-SQUARE who had firstly gotten fame as at then to avoid nomenclature duplicate. Their debut album which was partly produced by Dekumzy featured the likes of Slowdogg, JennyO, Vicko Kings and Wizboy who was the then raining artist in Southern Nigeria. Their style of music of one-sing-one-rap made them unique in the music industry because one (Ozone) sings in all kinds of styles and spirits (Solo,Ragae, highlife and blues ) while the other (Solid) raps in perfection (Igbo, pidgin and English). This is the first time Nigeria is having an identical twin artist with mixed talents as Ozone produces ,mixes and masters all their songs and Solid designs and sows their wears as a famous fashionista.

Madam! Do “Inyanga” and don’t think of your birthday as getting another year older; think of it as another year well spent with friends and families rather. Forget about the wrinkles, age spots and other things that come along with aging. Instead, look to your heart and act the age you feel.
