For me, it is not wise to place bet on any team in the UCL by this time. Forms of teams change a lot before February that the knockout stage will start. If anything, the English teams lose a lot of form by that time due to the busy match schedule and the lack of Christmas break. Chelsea's case last season is an example. By this time last season, Chelsea looked like a team that could beat any team, but by February things changed. For me, I can't place this kind of bet by this time. Remember also that there is a transfer windows between this period. |

Hazard has now been directly involved in more Premier League goals this season (17 in 16 apps) than he was in the whole of last season (16 in 34 apps). He is the first Chelsea player to assist a goal in four consecutive Premier League games since September 2014, when Cesc Fabregas did so.
Chelsea fans, can we forget about amala sports for a moment and give our thought on why the above is like that. what changed? Why? |

lordfalcao: sarri has never gone into the game to set up against pep that way.
During the first few minutes of first half we we're playing a high defense, pushing them back to there half. But they were marking us with much energy causing us to be caught in some bad positions..
The second half we clearly played what sarri game was about. Because we where making passes holding the ball and drawing them out from the back through passes between kepa and the defenders..
When you play against guardiolar be assured you will dominated and off cause some compromise. Not same for Chelsea but for every top team facing guardiolar...
The team doesn't have it as a whole to match City bomber to bomber, how many teams can sef? You can see that the game you mentioned sarri lost it very well.. i think you are confused. Your second paragraph can attest to that. Has sarri ever played the way he played on saturday before? |

City may have played some wonderful football at times, particularly in the first half, but Chelsea's performance was built on intelligent pressing and it was a day on which the usually tactically dogmatic Maurizio Sarri changed his tactics to impressive effect. Chelsea knew they that would not control possession against City so he instructed his players to sit deep and try to hit Guardiola's team on the break whenever they could. Cesar Azpilicueta celebrated his new contract by putting Leroy Sane in his pocket for 90 minutes, while Luiz was Chelsea's most threatening player offensively, as his long raking passes out of the back consistently caused City's defence problems. For Hazard, Willian and Pedro, it was a night of discipline rather than daring, as they pressed brilliantly; the perfect riposte to the flak they received over their defensive work during the dismal 3-1 defeat by Tottenham at Wembley two weeks ago. Essentially, 'Sarriball' was put on hold for one evening, with the 59-year-old Italian having learned lessons from his Napoli side going toe-to-toe with Guardiola and getting beaten both times due to the superior talent at his rival's disposal. It was more akin to 'Conteball' in the first half, as Chelsea did what Antonio Conte often tried to get them to do during his tenure, when they regularly "suffered without the ball" against sides such as Barcelona. The end result was a glorious one for Chelsea but a devastating one for Man City, with Liverpool having already taken top spot from them on the back of their emphatic win over Bournemouth. City's unbeaten record, their air of invincibility are also gone too. Be under no illusions, though, over a 38-game season Man City will pick up more points than Chelsea but at least Sarri's side have shown the rest of the Premier League that Guardiola's wonderful side can be beaten. And they should be grateful for that.

I think we have a fair chance of causing an upset if we start with a front three of
Hazard. Giroud. Pedro.
Ps: I'm not saying we will dominate with that front 3, it's the final result that matters. Giroud? We need someone that can run behind the defenders. Morata should start. It is unfortunate that we just have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea. |

SPORTEPL: Sarri reveals why Emerson Palmieri has not played for Chelsea this seasonPublished on December 7, 2018 By Don Silas
Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri has disclosed why defender, Emerson Palmieri has not featured for the Blues this season.
Sarri is yet to give Palmieri his first Premier League appearance this campaign.
The 59-year-old said that playing Emerson at the left-back could cause his team ‘problems’ at set-pieces.
Asked if Emerson is considered as a viable alternative to left-back, Marcos Alonso, Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “Of course, Emerson is a good option.
“I have to also consider some details, for example without Alonso, we could have problems in set pieces, so I have to consider everything.”
What nonsense is this man saying? |

Ibime: Fa fa fa foul!
Alonso is in the top 2 most technical DM of all time. In World Cup 2010, Alonso was averaging 120 passes per game, and 100 for Bayern. I have never seen midfielder reach 120 passes over a sequence of games in all my years following passing stats, not even Xavi.
I watched Alonso live in stadium playing for Bayern, not under canopy and saw how he dominated possession against Yaya Toure and co even though Bayern had only 10 men. Although he did make defensive error in that game sha.
Fernandinho used to be an AM in Brazil before converting to DM. He is technically very good, don't be confused by his work ethic
Kante is good on the ball for a normal manager, but not to play DM in an ultra-possession team like Sarri or Pep team. your last paragraph is just the truth. |

Meanwhile, back to Chelsea I want sarri to succeed, I enjoy watching Chelsea play nowadays more than I have ever did, so if he will break some hearts for it to work, he has my blessings
Kante will have to go, he doesn't offer anything going forward, swap him and money for a top player, good deal
Hazard has to go, tired of hearing, I spoke, the club knows my mind, oga bounce Biko, your nonsense done too much
Morata has to get out, mehn god forbid me dance Torres dance again, you know how many times I thought Torres is back to form and he ended up breaking my heart, I hear say lukaku is a bench warmer now
Azpilecueta oga time to go biko, you and luiz, una done try but abeg doh, we have to move sarri ball to the permanent site
And finally make the board nack sarri 5 years deal, I swear I don't fear losing coaches B4 but I fear for sarri, Madrid will need a coach this summer and sarri fits the bill chai, oga, you no know cfc. So we should sell all this players for a manager that won't last more than 3 seasons? And who told you that Madrid can sign losers |

TalabiAudu: Drop Kante. Abi Sarri wan run mad.
I still dey look this Sarri. He wan see our real agbero shekpe fans.
Who go drop Kante? that is the cause of Chelsea's inconsistency in recent years. Changing of manager every 2-3 years. Small time now, Kante go begin chop bench. Next thing, he starts losing form and his no longer happy, fans will start calling Kante names for playing rubbish any time he is given a chance. What is the cause? Match rustiness. Before you know it, he wants to leave. He leaves. The following season, a new coach comes and start asking why a coach should allow/sanction the sale of such player. The Next thing you know, the new coach starts selling and requesting for his own type of players and the cycle continues |
