After watching the bakayoko video, the only thing I saw that is not good is his sometimes unnecessary dribbles. Aside that, he is a very good buy considering his height, speed, strength and the price. |

raumdeuter:every sensible person will know that i was exaggerating, but I wanted to post a picture of how woeful neymar was that day. But, raumdeuter, sometimes you don't always have to be ridiculous just to win a senseless argument. If you decide to tell yourself that neymar performed well that day, that is your problem. But, know that the worst thing someone can do to himself is to lie to himself. I can't believe that a supposed football fan is saying what you are saying. |
raumdeuter:did you watch the match? If true, did neymar have a good performance? Please, don't tell me that he got an assist. |
Theflash98:oga, did you watch the match? If you had watched the match, you would know that what I said is not much an exaggeration. All the Barcelona fans in the viewing centre was calling for the dude to be subbed. |
If Chelsea allow man united to sign morata, na dem go suffer am o. Chelsea should not be stupid o. |
Ibime:i didn't watch the match, but I was trying to point out how relying on goals and assists alone to rate a player can be very flawed. One of the worst performances i have ever seen from neymar in a match was in last seasons champions league match between Barcelona and mochengladbach. Neymar could not complete a dribble, neither could he complete a pass, but he got an assist from his only completed pass. The goal was an equalizer, and Barcelona went on to win the game. If we are to judge with goals and assist, won't we say that neymar played well? This is the problem!. |
Ibime:that is the problem. There was a time last year when hazard was not playing well, but he scored the winning goal that got Belgium three points, yet the coach said he was their worst player. What did you say then? In the world Cup, hazard assisted two winning goals that helped qualify Belgium from the group stage, what did you comment on his performance at the world Cup? |
raumdeuter:the answer is in what brought about the hype of gotze and what is bringing about the hype of mbappe. |
raumdeuter:there is something that brings about the hype, it doesn't just come. Great consistent performances is the answer. |
raumdeuter:why then did Manchester United throw zaha out with all this his stats that are similar to hazard's? Why is it that big clubs are not falling over themselves to get his signature? Dey there dey do hazard bad belle make dey busy dey win award every season. |
Like I have earlier posited, I don't like lukaku. But, I don't care who Chelsea signs. What I know is, win ucl for me next season. Lukaku better not flop. |
hensben:this is the truth. But, I still like the man for his ability to bring success and raise the winning mentality of a team. |
In the second part of our exclusive interview with departing skipper John Terry, the club's most decorated player speaks about the lessons he learned from one of the all-time Chelsea greats and looks ahead to returning to Stamford Bridge as a supporter... THERE WAS A TIME BEFORE ROMAN ABRAMOVICH BOUGHT CHELSEA WHEN FINANCES WERE NOT GOOD AND THERE WERE SUGGESTIONS YOU WOULD BE ONE OF THE PLAYERS SOLD JUST AS YOU HAD BECOME ESTABLISHED BUT BEFORE WINNING ANYTHING. THAT MUST HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT. ‘I never in my wildest dreams saw myself leaving Chelsea in that era. Okay, if you were not being offered a contract at the club you have to go but if you have a couple of years left, the club can’t get rid of you so even if they approached me and said we have been offered this, I would not have gone. 'Honestly, it is as simple as that and I promise I never even contemplated it once to leave at that time. It was my club and that was it, as simple as that. It was not about money, I just wanted to play football for the club that I loved.’ IS THERE ANY ADVICE THE 36-YEAR-OLD JOHN TERRY WOULD GIVE THE 18 OR 19- YEAR-OLD VERSION TO SPEED UP YOUR DEVELOPMENT AS A PLAYER? ‘You know what, probably not really. I pretty well have no regrets and looking back I enjoyed my time at that age. And we had the likes of Gianfranco Zola at the club with the way he was looking after himself, whether that be food or not drinking or going out after games. I had grown up with the mentality that you train all week, play the game and then go out drinking and then go again next week, but when the likes of Franco came it was all about eating the right food after training and that helped me as a player back then. ‘I was quite close to Franco, I played golf with him quite a bit and spent some time at his house so I saw the way he lived, what he ate, what he drank and he got me into coffees rather than shandies after a game of golf. 'I was very fortunate to be around someone like him as a person, the way he gave time to fans, got off the bus and signed a hundred autographs in the pouring rain. It was a good education for me.’ IN TERMS OF THE PIECE OF SILVERWARE ITSELF, WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE OF THE TROPHIES WON? ‘Champions League, it is just a lovely trophy, but also because of just how hard over the years it has been to win it. Two or three years we should have probably gone on to win it but we didn’t and that just goes to show how hard and how big the competition is. 'You are playing against the best players and the best clubs in the world, so to test yourself against the best is always nice and to get over the final hurdle, even though I was not playing, was still by far the best moment of my career. ‘The Champions League trophy is wide, it is big, but it is not as heavy as the Premier League trophy.’ YOU HAVE BEEN CLOSE TO OUR ACADEMY THROUGH THE YEARS. WILL THEY PRODUCE ANOTHER CHELSEA LEGEND? ‘I think they will. I am confident they will. I just hope it is sooner rather than later. We have some really good boys and winning the Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League is great but you want to see that progression with them coming through. I think we will see boys who are 17 or 18 and physically good enough and can handle it play on loan rather than play youth team football, and I think that will serve them really well. 'Going on loan definitely did for me as a young player. You go into dressing rooms with real men where winning means everything, bonuses mean paying the mortgage, and there aren’t things you take for granted. So if they can go out and get 50 to 100 games under their belt by the age of 19 to 20, it will serve them well definitely. To come through at the age of 17 or 18 you are going to have to be someone really, really special.’ IN THE FUTURE YOU WILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO WATCH GAMES AT STAMFORD BRIDGE PURELY AS A FAN. WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SIT? ‘The Matthew Harding Lower I think. I have had my four seats there for years anyway for my family and I would love to go in there. My banner is at that end and it means a lot to me when I think of the memories. I scored my first goal there and went running to the fans. The one against Everton as well. I love all the sections of ground for all different reasons but that is where I would like to go.’ www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/05/the-john-terry-farewell-interview---part-two.html |
'I remember in Jose Mourinho’s years he was desperate for me to play or train when I had a broken toe and a broken bone in my foot. I had to have two injections in my toe every day for a whole year, one before training and sometimes the doctor would have to come out and re-inject me because it wore off in training if it was a longer session than an hour. It was just a given for me. I would do it again tomorrow because it sounds crazy but you would give your life for the football club when they have given you so much over the years.’ Now i have confirmed what happened to Chelsea last two seasons and one of the reasons why mourinho never lasts long in a club. The players are used like machines. I have always thought this, but I just confirmed it. The reason for this action from mourinho is simple, he never played the game professionally. www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/05/the-john-terry-farewell-interview---part-one.html |
Today marks exactly five years since
Chelsea completed the signing of Eden
Hazard from French club Lille and the
26-year-old, who was named the club’s
Player of the Year for the third time
last week, has picked out some of his
highlights from a wonderful 2016/17
season.
Hazard, who was inspirational as the Blues
secured the Premier League title, ended the
campaign with a place in the PFA Team of
the Season for the fourth time in five years.
Speaking to the official Chelsea website the
Belgian, who scored 17 goals, selects some
his favourite strikes as well as choosing the
most impressive team performances and best
moments.
FAVOURITE GOALS
West Ham at home
'It’s always good to win the first game,
especially at home, and this was a very tough
match which we won late thanks to Diego’s
goal. I’d missed a penalty the season before
so I was glad to score and it’s always nice to
get on the scoresheet in the first game. It
was a key moment for myself and the team.'
Man City away
'It was an important goal in a fantastic win.
I have to say we were a little bit lucky
because they missed a lot of chances. I felt
tired at the end of the run but when you
score you want to celebrate and the Chelsea
fans were right in front of me. When you
are one-on-one with the goalkeeper it's not
easy but I was confident because I knew
exactly where I was going to put the ball. It
was a good finish, game over.'
Arsenal at home
'It was a fantastic goal at home against a
rival. We lost the away game so it was good
to get revenge, we did well and it was a
beautiful goal. I can score with long shots
but I prefer these type of goals, like the
ones against Tottenham and Liverpool last
season, when I dribble past some players.
That’s what I’m known for.'
Tottenham at Wembley (FA Cup semi-final)
'This was important because it helped take
us to the final and it was my first goal at
Wembley. It came at an important time
because at 2-2 you never know which way it
will go. I came off the bench to score and
then Nemanja scored an unbelievable goal so
it was a good night for us.'
TOP THREE GAMES
Everton at home
'We won 5-0, it was an unbelievable
performance from the team and I scored two
goals which was nice.'
Man United at home
'Pedro scored in the first minute which was
a big help. When that happens if you are
able to control the game you can win easily
because your confidence is high and the
opponent is a bit flat. N'Golo Kante also
scored a very good goal in this game, his
first for the club.'
West Brom away
'The game wasn’t good, or easy, but it didn’t
matter because we just needed to win. Michy
Batshuayi came off the bench to score the
winning goal and we were able to celebrate
with the fans after. A special night for all of
us.'

TOP THREE MOMENTS
Michy Batshuayi 's title-winning goal at West
Bromwich Albion
'It was a big moment for him to come off
the bench and score such an important goal,
and obviously it won us the league, so I have
to choose this one.'
Signing N'Golo Kante
'N'Golo was such an important player for us
this season and he deserved all of the awards
he won. It was like playing with an extra
man sometimes.'
John Terry's goodbye in our last home game
'It's been a privilege for me to play with
such a legend for five years and it was an
emotional day for us all when JT played his
last game and said goodbye to the fans.'

@Nihilist, Thank God you are still alive. You are yet to fulfill your purpose in life. |
If Chelsea can't keep their best players, how can they win the Champions league. Chelsea will never allow hazard to leave, especially this time that top teams have decided not to sell their top players. |
raumdeuter:how is isco who is playing better than hazard? |
Tval:any source? |
raumdeuter:for the records. Bale never sits on the bench when fully fit. James started playing in Madrid immediately he was signed but lost his place after he started to under perform. It was still the same thing with di Maria at United. Be well informed. |
raumdeuter:he will bench the player that is playing in the position that Madrid feels they need £100m to get a better football. He will bench the player that is not among the top three players in the world for Zidane. |
I was wishing for juve to win this final so that Madrid don't have to win it back to back, but I was the same time relishing the prospect of watching a man utd vs Madrid super cup. Mou, go wan reduce the Zidane hype. I would love to see see how he stops this Madrid team. Mou the winner. |
Chelsea win champions league for me next season oooooooo. Better thing dey sweet me too oooo |
lordfalcao:a day begins a story. They should start from somewhere. |
nateevs:exactly. I don tire to dey watch other teams for finals. My worry na this one wey dem no wan sign any better player. No reasonable rumours. I don talk, next season na ucl trophy or nothing. I hope say conte dey watch wetin dey happen, make him no go do like em brother wey lose two ucl finals in three years. I no go accept am o. Heeerrrr!! |
www.skysports.com/football/news/11096/10900477/alves-barca-still-in-my-blood What an interesting read. Pep must really be a genius judging from Alves testimony and description. |
bigkesh:i tire |
raumdeuter:was it not arsenal's most important match of the season? |
According to Raumdeuter's logic; Per Mertersacker played well in Arsenal's most important match of the season, so he is better than all arsenal defenders this season. logic |
