The goals were flowing like half-baked ideas from Greg Dyke's brain, but arguably the biggest change to Suarez's game was the frequency with which he was now looking to set up his team mates - most notably strike- partner Daniel Sturridge. Over the course of the season, Suarez contributed 12 assists - one more than he'd managed in the entirety of his first two-and-a-half years on Merseyside. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/was-luis-suarezs-201314-greatest-ever-premier-league-seasonMore prove. |

raumdeuter: Yes it is more accurate than the premierleague site. the way asissts are counted in Europe is different from in England.
And when comparisons are made across the continent, its logical to use a common measurement for everyone
E.g if I say Suarez has 30 assists in barca using Europe measurement, How can I compare it to say Suarez has 12 assists using premierleague measurement
The logical thing to do is to use the same measurement for everyone unless you can get me a measurement by premierleague of La Liga goals and assists
Its simple logic, thats why I say until some of you are force fed with logic and placed on drip logic you shouldnt be trying to spar with me. I am on a different level lol. I am so sorry for people who follow you. Maybe, you should tell us another way of counting assists if not the last player that passed to the scorer and the player that won a penalty and didn't take it; and the epl uses both. The other assist type i know about is the one that Chelsea uses, which is given by the player that played a key role in the goal being scored. I can bet with anything that there is no other site that will show that Suarez got 21 assist that season in the epl, unless the site belongs to you. You can try and prove me wrong. |

raumdeuter: Currently Suarez is the 2nd highest top scorer in the La liga that has Messi and Ronaldo,
In all comps Suarez has 32 goals
Very few strikers in the game press the way Suarez does. If you are using Suarez as a comparison to Aguero thats a big foul. Try Higuain, FYI Suarez is at least 5 times better than Aguero will ever be,
If and when Suarez miss chances, he makes up for it with his insane work rate and pressing. Thats why Suarez has 32 goals and 17 assists, Aguero has 4 assists in all comps. Before you say its La Liga or Barcelona, Suarez had 31 goals and 21 assists in his last season at Liverpool. Without being the penalty taker and when the striker partner was Sturridge. Trying to compare that to Aguero is insanity
So if Aguero is now missing chances at the rate of Suarez yet very inferior in press and linkup, So whats his(Agueros) use to compare him to an elite striker like Suarez?
Most coaches will pick Suarez used socks before picking full bodied current Aguero so lets have a pattern to this madness and know that shoes have sizes you must show us where suarez had 21 assists or you apologize with $40. |

Hazard and pedro cant guarantee us 20 plus goals a season yet u guys keep dreaming about a spanish striker whose only attribute is link up play and dribbling. Someone even went as far as putting suarezs name beside morata all in the name of link up play like that is the only thing saurez does well.
Please and please...... that is not true. It is not as if morata does not score goals. Hazard can give us at least 20 goals in a season.like i stated before, we one won the league in a season that lampard was our highest goal scorer with 15 goals |

atebesunny: This argument will go on at least until the summer, and this is not about who's better cos you're are as good as your teammates ( football is a team sport). What we all should put in mind is that football is gradually moving away from a 'one man burly striker upfront whom you lump the ball to', now you need intelligence as a striker not just strength and brute. Barcelona....... Suarez R.Madrid........Benzema, Morata Bayern........, Lewandoski, Muller Dortmund....... Abumeyang Juventus.........Dybala and Higuain A.Madrid........Grezmain, Torres The above team are the so called dominant teams in Europe now and their play isn't lump it up to a 'BURLY' striker but one of intelligent movements and use of the ball. So let ask ourselves sincerely; IS LUKAKU A STRIKER LIKE THAT We also need a striker that will play to the strength of our best player(s) e.g Hazard not the one we'll have to change our IDEA of football for (how a wish for a striker like Etoo, Henry or Larsson e.t.c in their prime; these are guys that has it all ) like I said in my previous post, we should let the coach decide on players that fit into his IDEA of football( I hope players won't be forced on him by the board) you just said it all |

Following Chelsea's 2-1 win over Manchester
City at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night,
Adam Bate picks out three reasons why Antonio
Conte has had the edge over Pep Guardiola this
season.
There was much excitement in the summer at
the prospect of two of Europe's greatest
coaches coming to work in England for the
first time. Pep Guardiola had won a trio of
titles in both Spain and Germany, while Antonio
Conte had lifted the trophy in Italy three
times.
Hazard double beats City
Eden Hazard's two goals
helped Chelsea get the
better of Man City at
Stamford Bridge.
But it was the Manchester City man who was
expected to hit the ground running. He was 9/4
with Sky Bet to take City to the title, while
Chelsea were 5/1 outsiders - a reflection of the
fact that the Blues had only finished 10th the
previous season. But it is Conte who has
delivered.
"He's an excellent manager," said Guardiola on
the eve of their clash on Wednesday night. "I
learn a lot when I see his teams - Juventus,
Italy and now. I like to do that because you
see what they want to do. Their teams control a
lot of aspects. Maybe he's the best."
Highlights of Chelsea's 2-1 Premier League win
over Manchester City
He's certainly had the better of it in the
Premier League this season with Conte
becoming the first manager to do the double
over Guardiola in a league season. His Chelsea
side seem set to win the Premier League title
too as they are still seven points clear at the
top.
So what's been the key to Conte outperforming
Guardiola in the Premier League so far? Well,
it's been a combination of good decisions and
bad luck. Here are three of the key factors that
have led to their contrasting fortunes in their
first season in English football…
Big players and big moments
Eden Hazard has scored more impressive goals
than the two he managed against City at the
Bridge, netting thanks to a deflected shot and a
rebound from a missed penalty. But the Belgian
was impressive again and has proven decisive in
key moments for Conte this season.
Hazard's previous goal at Stamford Bridge had
been against Arsenal and his previous two-goal
haul came against Everton. Having also scored
at City and against Manchester United, the
majority of his 13 Premier League goals this
season have been against the top seven.

It's an unusual statistic and Guardiola will no
doubt feel that his own star names have not
replicated that with big moments going against
his side. Not only have City surrendered leads
to Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal this season
but they have also wasted chances to extend
their advantages.
From Kevin De Bruyne's amazing miss against
Chelsea at the Etihad to Sergio's Aguero
headed chance to double City's lead over
Arsenal last week, Guardiola's men have wasted
a series of clear opportunities - much to the
exasperation of their manager.
It's been a particular problem in those big
games. In fact, according to Opta, City have
scored only nine of their 26 clear chances (35
per cent) against fellow top-seven teams
compared to 30 out of 51 (59 per cent) against
the rest. That has been a huge issue for
Guardiola.
Conte has got the big calls right this season,
while Guardiola has not
Key changes that have paid off
If the City boss can claim to have been
unfortunate in that respect, some of the team's
issues can be firmly laid at his door. Most
notably, the sort of goalkeeper error by Willy
Caballero that saw him allow Hazard's shot to
squirm beyond him for the opening goal on
Wednesday.
Few felt the 35-year-old Argentine and long-
time back-up goalkeeper was up to the
challenge of being a starter in a title-winning
team and his mere presence in the City goal is
a reflection on Claudio Bravo's shockingly bad
start to life in England.
The Chilean became the second most expensive
goalkeeper in Premier League history when
Guardiola decided to replace Joe Hart, but
Bravo has since lost his place as a result of
having the worst save percentage of any keeper
to make 10 or more appearances this season.
Conte was pleased with his side's defensive
display as they beat Manchester City
Ironically, Thibaut Courtois made an error of
his own at the other end against City. And yet,
it is clear that Conte not only possesses the
superior goalkeeper but that - in contrast to
his City counterpart - he has succeeded in
getting the biggest decisions right for Chelsea
this season.
The signing of David Luiz was seen as a
gamble, as was the switch to 3-4-3, but both
moves have proven spectacularly successful.
N'Golo Kante has been an excellent signing too,
while various issues regarding Diego Costa,
Cesc Fabregas and John Terry have been
expertly handled.
Settled system and simple instructions
Conte says his man-management would be
better still if he had a greater grasp of
English. "In Italy, for me, honestly, it was
easier to find the right words to motivate my
players," he admitted after the City game. "I'm
not at a great level to give motivational talks.
But I try."
He has succeeded by keeping it simple and
keeping the changes to a minimum. Chelsea
have played their 3-4-3 on 22 occasions so far
this season. In contrast, according to Opta,
City have used seven different formations -
using no one system more than a dozen times
thus far.

It's the same with the personnel. Chelsea won
six games in a row with the same side earlier
this season. Guardiola is yet to name an
unchanged line-up. Whether that's a cause of
Chelsea's success or an effect of it, Conte's
philosophy would appear easier to grasp.
Guardiola, meanwhile, remains confident that
City will get to the level he wants them
eventually but acknowledges it will take time.
"Next season will be better," he said as long
ago as December. "Two years will be better.
Give me time."
He is certain to get more of that. But for the
reasons outlined above, Conte did not need that
time to bring trophies back to Stamford
Bridge. Clearly, it's the Chelsea boss who has
had the edge on his fellow super-coach so far. |

airmark: Why will he not be a good fit for chelsea? Thats the question. He wont be able to face the rigour. Soldado, negredo found it difficult when they came those years. Check those topping epl scorers chart, you will see some characteristics which morata lacks. He is a good striker no doubt, but we cant just buy him just because of assisting others. His scoring ability is not impressive.
We shouldnt buy him just because of hazard and pedro. We need him to be scoring 20+ too. If we want that we kuku go for auba. We need an aggressive striker. What happens if hazard or pedro get injured or off-form? We will rely on an 8 goal-a-season striker. is it lukaku that will play without hazard and Pedro feeding him? Lukaku will even be bringing to nothing their efforts. I even remember Hazard being frustrated by lukaku against Hungary at the euros. |

We need a bullish striker, ready to fight upfront independently, full stop. this same morata led the line for Spain at the euros. Did you watch last season match between juve and bayern in the second leg of the ucl? His poor performance in Madrid can be attributed to lack of enough playing time and no confidence in him from the manager. |

airmark: I didnt say hazard and pedro wouldn't get us some goals, you made mention of lampard and i told you one of the reasons he got those numbers. My point is morata is not the best fit for our style especially in epl. As you rightly said he may do ok in counters, but how will he survive many big heads in the box, breathing on his neck? We cant be waiting for counter everytime before scoring. What happens when hazard , pedro are off or injured and we need morata to do a costa (bullying) for us? Is he that striker? Your guess is as good as mine.
Aguero has a low central of gravity. At his peak, he can wreck havoc in a tight space. Morata is good but he doesn't fit into what we need upfront. Lukaku is tested in epl, if it's just to keep away defenders by getting them busy , so hazard and pedro will have more freedom, it's ok by me. the interplay with Hazard and Pedro can unlock any defense. Morata can take on two or more defenders and shoot. He can create chances for his teammates to score. |

airmark: None of hazard and pedro has the leg power of lampard, who can hammer shots from the central circle. We should be preparing to face more stubborn defence everywhere next season. We dont have the exclusive right to 5 defenders. What happens when i.diots like crystal palace block every space against our attackers, can morata bully defenders to score out of nothing like costa did earlier this season? Most teams now understand chelsea's style and it will be hard for morata kind of striker to thrive. Even some games in laliga, some defenders successfully bullied him and got him frustrated in matches. Though i'm not too comfortable with lukaku, but i will prefer him if we cant get any explosive striker like belloti. Hazard has scored 14 League goals in two seasons out of four seasons and is on course to beat that record this season. So, the issue of hazard and Pedro not being able to get us some goals is false. |
