Ibime:true. His height is a disadvantage for him, but for someone who is short, he is too lazy and lacking in quick reflex. I hardly blame a goalkeeper that concedes from close range or inside the box, but conceding from outside the box is a no for me. The few years I watched cech in his years at Chelsea, I could count the number of outside box goals he conceded. It was almost always certain that cech will keep a long range shot or free kick. Kepa's own is that, he is slow to move from his position after a shot is taken and he will many times not even move, instead he will dive from his standing position as if he is as tall as crouch. It is also annoying to watch how the bastard concedes long range shots |
BlueAngel444:you and who follow talk the bold. My opinion on Kepa is well documented on this forum. |
|
BlueAngel444:kepa's best form is at most above average, it is never elite. I settled that in my heart a long time ago. |
Sulele04:why don't you go and apply to become Chelsea manager? |

“I came to Chelsea under Sarri, but I must say that Lampard is an exceptional manager. “He has kept the character he had as a player in his personality as a coach, which has inspired all of us. “He commits himself with everything he’s got. Training is always challenging and different from last season. “That’s probably the main difference between Lampard and Sarri, who made the concept of training quite monotonous. “There were a lot of similar training sessions with a focus on tactical preparation. “[Zinedine] Zidane was similar to the way Frank Lampard is a coaching, and their approaches really suit.” Kovacic is enjoying working under Lampard because the former England international knows what it takes to thrive in the midfield engine room. Priceless advice is being passed on, while tactical tweaks have released the shackles which some found themselves operating in during Sarri’s reign. Kovacic added: “I have to admit that I’m really enjoying it so far. “I play with the ball a lot more and have greater freedom of movement – that’s why I think I’ve put in some great performances this season. “Last year I was tied to a specific area, which became a bit predictable for our opponents and therefore made it harder for me. “Sarri didn’t want long balls from defence when we were under pressure, which led us into some tough situations. “Lampard, on the other hand, gives us more freedom to assess situations. It’s proved to be a good tactic, as it gives us unpredictability. We’ve scored lots of different goals this season.” |
Lol. Nothing wey person no go talk to defend a stupid player |
raumdeuter: ![]() This gif dey crack me up sha. Nigga didn't want to be disgraced like boateng, so he called for help. If you ask me, I will say he is a wise man |
To think that a self acclaimed football expert is supporting that foolishness up there calls for a serious football re-orientation for his followers |
airmark:God forbid!!! I never see this kind human being before. If I be ref, I go give the bastard red card for dangerous play. Nonsense. How can a defender be this stupid? |
raumdeuter:did I just read this? |
raumdeuter:see, you are actually shooting yourself with this post-pep argument. Now, let's take an example. First example Some pupils knew how to read the alphabets(round 16) correctly with the help of their teacher (pelle), but could not go past that level for 4 years. To help upgrade them, their teacher was changed (mou), they now learnt two and three letters words (semifinal) for the next three years. then The teacher (mou) left and they got two new successive teachers (carlo and zidane) who now taught them how to read very well (UCL trophy). Second example Some students knew how to pass exams. They were already ssce certified students (UCL trophy), taught by a very good teacher (Juup). The teacher retired and a new teacher was brought in (pep) to help them sit and pass jamb for their tertiary education, but somehow, they could not pass the jamb and gain admission to the University (more UCL). Instead, they were no longer ssce level students anymore but were now made to see ss2 third exam success (local league) as a great feat for three years. Some even forgot how to solve simple algebra. After bringing the students to this new low, the teacher ran away. Ever since New teachers have been brought in to at least get them to have a new mentality about success, but that have been proving difficult because of the damage the previous teacher did to the students ability and mentality. Conclusion from both examples in relation to the discussion. From the first example, there was a positive progress in ability and mentality for the team which was brought about by the help of the mou, carlo and Zidane. But for the second, there was a total damage to the ability and mentality done by pep to a team that won everything and had the capacity to win more. ![]() |

raumdeuter:but when it is sterling stamping on alli it is a different rule too. There is inconsistency in judgment everywhere and it is not peculiar to any club. All we can say is that some club benefit more than others from controversial decisions (especially teams that win the title) but in all, the inconsistency is evident in almost all the matches. Before the introduction of VAR, man City has benefitted a lot from these controversial calls during their title winning seasons. The last people that should complain about these kind of decisions should be the city fans. |
raumdeuter:the logical explanation to the bolded is because VAR have reviewed it and seen that it was not the contact from Lloris that fell sterling, but that had already started falling before the contact. |
Raumdeuter will not stop disturbing us with this issue of penalty offence each time a slight offence is committed and his favourite team is at the receiving end. The last time he said something about it, I wanted to tackle him but I decided to let it go because I didn't have the time to look for the research article that I once read. But, this time I had the time to go look for the article. This is it https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2019.00844/full Excerpts Descriptive analyses (Table 4) of the investigated penalty kicks reveal that there was no penalty that was conducted according to the prevailing football rules. In most of these cases (96.3%), even players of both teams (including the goalkeeper) misbehaved. This varied slightly from league to league (p < 0.001; Cramer’s V = 0.13). In the German Bundesliga (93.9%), and in particular in the Austrian Bundesliga (88.5%) there were fewer incidents in which players of both teams (including the goalkeeper) broke the rules. However, this proportion was much higher in the English Premier League (99.3%) and the Italian Serie A (98.5%). No statistical difference can be found between the cup competition and the leagues (p = 0.809). TABLE 4 www.frontiersin.org Table 4. Descriptive results are presented with respect to infringements, who is responsible for the infringements, and how many of the respective cases were correctly judged by the umpire. In total, the referees correctly judged 2.8% (n = 17) of the infringements. In most of these incidents (82.4%; n = 14) the referee judged correctly by not actively interrupting the game because the penalty kick resulted in a goal and the players of the attacking team behaved according to the football rules. In three cases, the referee actively interrupted the game and made the players repeat the penalty kick due to the misbehavior of outfield players from both teams as well as the goalkeeper. There is a common belief among various stakeholders from causal fans to sport theorists that some sports have unwritten rules, which includes the intentional mishandling of some rules. In this paper we could provide empirical proof supporting this common believe for two such trivial offenses: various misbehaviours during the performance of penalty kicks and violations of the maximum time limit a goalkeeper can have control of the ball with his hands. Regarding the penalty study, this research shows that all investigated penalty kicks were not conducted as the book of rules prescribes. Misbehavior occurs in all investigated European football leagues. During each penalty kick at least one player commits a rule violation. Interestingly, in most incidents none of the parties involved behaves correctly. However, it is not too surprising that players try to stretch the rules as far as possible in order to profit from it. In most incidents, the fact that the players misbehave might be a sequence of reactions started by just one player moving too early and, concurrently, other players following to compensate for the potential disadvantage. For instance, if an attacker enters the penalty area first in order to get a potential rebound, a defender is probably going to follow in order to compensate for the disadvantage. Nearly all refereeing decisions were wrong. There are three different scenes a referee and his assistants have to monitor: The penalty kick taker, the goal line (observing the goalkeeper), and the eighteen-yard line (observing the rest of the players). On the one hand, there is one match official focusing on each scene. This actually seems to be an easy task. On the other hand, all match officials need to recognize when the penalty kick taker touches the ball and, at the same time, judge whether another player commits a rule violation. Firstly, this is impossible and secondly, sometimes players only slightly violate the rules in such a way that a human being might not be able to perceive it in real time. Unfortunately, we did not collect information about the amount of time a player misbehaved early, or how far a player entered the penalty area, or how far the goalkeeper left the goal line. This kind of information should be collected in a future study to help in answering this question. In the course of this research, there was the opportunity to stop the video and check each single frame to identify rule violations. As the video assistant referee has been introduced in several leagues today, this opportunity also exists for match officials. However, it seems that the misbehavior during penalty kicks is still there, but this should be part of further research as the data of the penalty study was recorded before the introduction of the video assistant. |
Eruditor:be an honourable man and keep to your word. |
Eruditor:last season you mean |
NinjaMetahuman:no masterclass there. Although Tottenham tried in defending, but I can say that City were unlucky. This Mourinho's Tottenham still looks very far from convincing. I have watched them against Chelsea, Liverpool and now man City and one thing has been constant. They are always jittery on the ball, no organisation and they can hardly string few passes together without losing the ball. |
Eruditor:I am not saying that judging by contact level that it should not be a pen, but if I am a ref, I will not give it if I saw it happen. |
E be like say Tottenham do juju for that their goal say ball no go enter am. Those two almost own goals confirmed it. |
Eruditor:where did Aurier technically foul Raheem? Stop being baised. Aurier did nothing to Raheem The only case you should be making for City here is the Lloris and sterling case, although sterling was already falling without Lloris contact. Say it as it is. You must surely eat your hand by march. |
Na this same diving arsenal take Rob Chelsea collect cup from us, but looking sterling with diving all over the place and he is yet to get a card for it. Double standard |
BlueAngel444:jorginho that knew he would return to bench once sarri have left. Chelsea is an upgrade for kepa Kante saw Chelsea as an upgrade to Leicester and he wasn't from abroad In summary, none of them was a top player except Kante and he knew that Leicester nothing else to offer him. |
Ibime:it is better that way. Everybody should sit up |
donstan18:if a player turns down a big club for a small club, it is because he has seen that his chances of starting for the big club is slim |
Kimbeast:when was the last time Chelsea signed a top player from abroad that is not a bench warmer? |
https://www.goal.com/en/news/chelsea-now-underdogs-for-top-four-after-transfer-window/1ud1gagjbo0u71oltm3gvt1v0j Lampard have summarized everything here. |
airmark:this one is a high level internal trolling. The guy managing the twitter account must be really pissed off with the board too |
airmark:I will not be surprised |
