The problem is, why do you think that Lampard will need a miracle not to be sacked?

It was only in 2016 our fall out 10th position finish we didn't win a trophy

If Lampard doesn't finish top 4 or even win a trophy it would take a miracle for him to keep his job and he will be the first manager in Abrahimovic era to keep his job after such a season.

Moreover, Mourinho didn't win a trophy in his first season during his second return.

Guys, making it legitimately in Nigeria is like swimming against water current.

PHCN and GLO network frustrated all my efforts last night.

I couldn't finish my work, because the power went off and my laptop went dead. I could not continue with my phone because glo network could not load the page.
I achieved nothing!!!! Last night was, so, annoying for me. Damn!!!

E no easy o!

As in trophy wins etc etc
sarri won a trophy with Chelsea. Trophy is not new to us.

Success for us is not, someone coming to spend billions, and ending up winning the league and crashing out to Monaco in round 16.

Good form yato si historical form. It's not possible to have more than two teams play at such a high level. We have not seen it before and it's not by accident

Chelsea would have ran away with the league if they won 25 of their first 26 matches. Period

What part of the bar has been raised too high do you not understand?

I have shown you that City's best performance in the last 110 years is the only result that will be within 10 points of this Liverpool so what Okoto meow challenge are you talking about?

There is no way. And if there is the sensible thing would be to show me instead of yarnin all this Okoto meow kutukutu meow skrrrrrrrr skrr

Since you started watching EPL which year have you seen 3 teams finish on 90 something points.
how do you think Chelsea would have won 25 out of 26 when they had a Liverpool, arsenal and Tottenham that was strong enough to at least take some points from them?

How do you think Chelsea would be topping with 22 points when they had a Tottenham and City that could amass much points as to not be 22 points behind?

I don't think you really understand the argument.
The argument is not about whether Liverpool would have won in any other season or not, but that the form and point gap wouldn't have been what it is for Liverpool today, if the other team were not shit this season.

Period! I am done with this argument.

How many seasons have we ever had two teams playing at such high level? We are talking of a season where the second placed team would have won the title in all but two seasons in England history so what do you mean by two other Liverpools at that level?

It is not possible for 3 teams to produce that kind of form over the course of a season

At this point you will be forgiven for thinking angels played for them. Stop fixating on the point for the umpteenth time and realize that there is no form any of the contenders would be on that would be good enough
now you are sounding funny with the bolded.

Do you think it is impossible to have another team with a good form? That when City and pool are amassing points, the other team will not amass points too?

Now, let us take the season conte won the league with Chelsea for example.

Don't you think that Chelsea would have also run away with the league if Tottenham and Manchester City didn't put up any kind of challenge?
Arsenal and Liverpool were also having a team that is strong.

In short, if you think that there is no way another team would have been as strong as Liverpool and City last season in the league, then there is no point having this argument, because you have decided to throw your reasoning away just because you think that I am hating on Liverpool and you want to do anything to defend them.

a team cannot stay consistent over a long period time in the epl like other leagues because other teams are not sleeping and they want to be better than you unlike other unambitious teams from other leagues in europe. That's the point.

Leceister came with their nasty counter attack.
Conte came with his 343, changed the game, blew everyone away, won the league.
Then guariola said no, he wants tiki taka. klopp is killing everyone with his high pressing.
It could be lampard tomorrow.

What you can't deny is liverpool having incredible season which will end in a season or 2 from now.

An isolated team having incredible season doesn't take anything away from the competiveness of epl until the said team establishes its dominance like other teams have done across europe.

I remember telling raumdeuter and the ediot that wants to eat his hand that I will stop supporting epl if any team can win the league 4 times in row without anyone challenging them.

You can't predict who will win the league next season in epl, but I can bet my life savings on it that bayern will still win bundesliga next season.
no. a team can be consistent over a period of time in the epl.

for all i know, tottenham is one team that have tried to be consistent in their level in this period of time until this season. i can't remember the last time they didn't make top four.

man city have been consistent for this period of time also.

having some level of consistency does not mean that you should be winning the league every season.

if you look at mancity league position and point tally since pep took over, you will see a level of consistency. 3rd, 1st, 1st
compare this to chelsea 10th, 1st, 5th.

you will see a high level of instability in the team.

none of man united, arsenal and chelsea have had any level of stability in management and recruitment and it is showing in the league performance.

Since you are not using ucl, tell me,
the year conte won the league, was epl competitive?

Competitiveness has nothing to do with the number of points a team won the league with. It is just a record to show how incredible the winning team was.
There will always be incredible teams that will equal or set another incredible record.

Its about what other teams are willing to do to catch up to you the current winner.

Bayern has been winning the league since god knows when. I don't even know any team in germany that can stop them. Same goes for italy. Which other team apart from juventus.

La liga, it is either madrid or barca.

Last decade in england, more than 5 teams won the league, can you say the same for any other top league in europe?.
actually, when we consider the general competitiveness over a period of time of the epl in relation to other leagues, the epl is very competitive. but, when we isolate it season by season, we see that the past 4 to 5 seasons have seen the epl teams showing a level of inconsistency in form.

one season chelsea finishes 10th, the next one 1st tomorrow 5th
man united will jump from 6th to 2nd back to 6th
same for arsenal

yes, that conte winning season was much competitive than what we are having season

There is no competition that would have kept up with Liverpool. None

I don't think we should water down their feats
man city hit 98 points last season with just liverpool as competition and pool get up with them. what do you think would have happened if the league last season had 2 other liverpools at that level?

you just making it sound like Angels are playing for liverpool and that whatever level the other teams would have been at; liverpool will still top everyone with 22 points.

No

You fell yakata for it.

The year man city won the league with 19 point was the year an english team actually got to final ucl since 2012

The following year, 4 english teams got to finals in europe.
no. i did not fall for anything.

i am one of those who don't totally agree that performance in europe is a reflection of the strength of a team or the competitiveness of a league.

if you ask me i will say teams in the ucl have fallen short of their own standard too.

take a look at clubs that used to be considered favourites before the ucl began; you can't even be sure that they will make it to semis again.
i am talking of teams like bayern, madrid and barca.

How many teams have they 'blown' away. The Liverpool games I have seen this season they have had to dig deep to win. There were some you knew they had no business winning but still managed to get all three points.

All the cups that have won this season and last have been gritted wins.
now, you are making my point.

Folks, before now, the premise upon which Raumdeuter used to rate a league as the best was the performance of their representatives in Europe but now the EPL is doing well, the goal post has been shifted.

The UCL and UEL was contested by EPL teams last season and now, all the EPL representatives have make it to the round of 16 in the UCL just as Manchester United, Wolves and Arsenal are doing great in the Europa league but no, the EPL must be garbage because of what is happening in their local league...Europe is no longer the standard...What a time to be alive...Amala has suffered.
that is why I am looking at him with one eye in this argument

You're not making any sense right now, your argument will make sense if Liverpool are eliminated...Their goal in the group stage was to qualify for the round of 16 and they achieved it. Now, their goal is to progress to the quarters and they stand a good chance after the first leg so what exactly is your point?

In Euros, Portugal didn't win a game until the semi-finals but who cares, they won it and that's all that matters.
are you saying that if they lose the tie, that they will become less a great team?

For me, No.

They are a great team, but their position in the league is helped by the weakness of the league.

My point is EPL this season is weak, the team that is steamrolling you all is chopping it in Europe. Even if na one game no team in the league can win after 26
not only this season. It has been like that for some time now.

Man city also benefitted from it.
