author=Kadimah post=60622110]Search Engine Optimization can be a nerve cracking job for a beginner. Getting to know the meaning of various terms or confused on where to start from, these are the frequently asked questions on linking for an SEO beginner. #1. What is "Anchor Text"? Anchor text is the visibly clickable text in a hyperlink. Best practices dictate that anchor text be relevant to the page you're linking to, rather than generic text. ![]() Your anchor text should be varied, you should not use the same anchor text for all your links(that you control), if you use a variety of anchor text your overall link strength will be stronger and you will rank for many more phrases than if you focused on only one keyword. #2. How do I check sites Linking to my Website? Google has officially scrapped the link command, using a link:www.domain.com will likely return irrelevant results. Use the "links to your site" feature on Google Search Console #3. How come I get a different amount of links when I use www.example.com and example.com? Search engines see both as two different domains and therefore have different amounts of sites linking to them. Therefore you should 301 redirect one version to the other. You can do that from your site cpanel. If you are using wordpress, you can edit your .htacess file using Yoast SEO tool. #4. What's a Link Farm? Link farm is any group of web sites that all hyperlink to every other site in that same group. Although some link farms can be created by hand, most are created using automated programs and services. A link farm is a form of spamming the index of a web search engine, also known as spamdexing. Other link exchange systems are designed to allow individual websites to selectively exchange links with other relevant websites and are not considered a form of spamdexing. Link farms are a known spam tactic and sites that participate in them are likely to be penalized or banned from the major search engines. Note: Please keep in mind that links from these sites do not harm you, what harms your site is you linking OUT to these sites NOT them linking in. However these types of links will not benefit you either so don't waste your time with them. [quote #5 What is an "IBL" and Why is it important? An "IBL" is an 'In Bound Link'. When a site links to yours, that link is called an IBL. It is also known as a BL (Backlink). Backlinks play a major role in ranking a site in the search engines specifically Google and Bing. Google also puts a great deal of value on the quality of the links, where it is placed, is the site related to yours? A link on a content related page is going to be worth a whole lot more than a link on a links page. Backlinks do a lot to influence your page and domain authority. Suffice to say the most important job as an SEO specialist is to find creative ways to have an array of relevant quality backlinks from websites with higher Domain Authority.
Thank you for making this post. I have benefited from it. As a new SEO enthusiast, I have a question: In a bid to comment on other niche relevant blogs for good backlinks, can one paste the same articles on the several blogs but rather anchor different keyword-bearing strings of text of each blog comments? Will this strategy work? Will it attract penalizing? I won't mind being your protege. Kindly carry along. #6. What is Reciprocal linking or link exchange? Link exchanging or reciprocal linking is when two sites exchange links. Usually this occurs when a webmaster sends an email to another webmaster requesting a link on their site. Because of how easy it is to get a link this way and the potential to abuse it, Google has greatly dis-valued these types of links. They are still worth something but not as much as they have been in the past. But if you must, here are great tips for Link Exchange tip 1. Only exchange links with related sites, don't reciprocate with irrelevant sites even if they have a high PageRank. tip 2. Don't reciprocate with sites that link to anything, only exchange links with sites that are particular about who they link to. tip 3. Don't reciprocate with sites that have categories for every industry or hobby ever invented. Again keep it relevant. tip 4. Don't reciprocate with sites that link pages containing hundreds of links. tip 5. Before reciprocating view the source of the page(CTRL + U for FF | View > Source for IE) and check that NONE of the links on the page contain a nofollow tag. A quick way to check is to use the find tool and search for "nofollow". Nofollow links add no value to your site. tip 6. You should also goto http://www.domainnameofsite.com/robots.txt. This way you can see if they have excluded the pages linking to your site. tip 7. Also do a search in google for cache:domain.com/linkspage to see if the page your link will be placed on is indexed. #7 What is Cross Linking? Cross Linking is an seo strategy that leverages on links created across multiple domains owned by you. Search engines value these links, as they are from relevant sites, with related content- and you stand a chance of getting a better rank. The most common practiced strategies for cross linking are- footer/sidebar links and in-content deep linking. If you have links to your page (containing your keywords) from other domain names, then this really works well with the search engines. However, each of this domain should have unique content, enhanced user experience and you must link the domains together with keyword rich anchor text. #8. Would I be penalized if a "Link Farm" or a "Bad Neighborhood" linked to my site? No, you have no control over who link to you and this would be an easy way for a competitor to sink your site. What you SHOULD be careful of is if you are linking to them. This CAN hurt your site and should be avoided .Don't be afraid to link out to sites that are related to yours but never link to a site because they guarantee search engine value if you do. https://www.johnmadakin.com/tips/8-essential-questions-seo-link-building/ |

Hello, I am into processing catfish into smoked/dried form and would need a company that can fabricate my product pack for me. I'll prefer a company in Lagos. The pack i seek would bear semblance in material (lightweight, two cavities but transparent and with a pin-down lid) to that in the image attached. Kindly reply me if this concerns you or someone you know. Thank you.
