PDP needs new excos to pilot its affairs. The current set of excos are loyal to different party leaders, with different agendas. That's why the party is gradually fading into oblivion. I have noticed some monikers supporting Tinubu on this forum. They are more like bots, not humans. Their comments are more like how we used to write essays back in the days... This forum still has a lot of work to do. |
If this administration is actually serious about Nigeria's energy, the Dangote refinery should be given a 101% support. They don't have to like Dangote to give him all the necessary support. They only need see the benefits to the nation, not the individual involved. The 650,000-bpd refinery is more than enough to meet our local demands, and even have extra for export. This will go a long way to boost our economy, save our scare foreign exchange, create jobs, etc..... but as we all know, Nigerian politicians are the worse on earth. |
Nigerians' hypocrisy stinks to the high heavens. I remembered during the last election, Tinubu and Atiku were tagged " old, senile, and too sick" to rule Nigeria. Meanwhile, Trump is older than all 3 contenders... and here we are, the 'older' Trump is being called the people's president. Really? The same dude that told people to drink bleach to cure themselves of COVID-19. He never even believed COVID-19 was real to start with, until he contracted the virus himself. Buhari referred to Nigerians as " lazy youths" and he was crucified. Meanwhile, Trump called Africans rapist, and all sort of names, yet he's being called the "people's president". LIFE... If Trump is actually the "people's president" as some people claim, how come he lost to an older candidate in the 2020 election? To even start with, how is it our concern who they decide to make their next president? |

I may not like Reno Omokri, especially how he attacks people repeatedly. You can pass your message once or at most twice, then move on. But one thing you can't take away from the dude is that he's mostly right with his analysis, and with facts, at least 65-75% of the time. He's so good at research, and always appear confident (fact-check me is his confidence). I read the Daily Trust article earlier, and immediately concluded it was a propaganda, meant to deceive people. I was more disappointed in the comments, not the Daily Trust article itself. How on earth will a reasonable person, I mean someone with a functioning brain, compare the US presidential air fleet with that of Nigeria presidential fleet? How does that even work? C'mon, don't tell me rubbish. Do you know the amount the US government spend annually to maintain that plane? The plane is maintained by both the US Airforce and Boeing itself. The best on the planet of the earth. Not only that Airforce-one was built by Boeing, but it is also being maintained by them. I don't know much about the most recent Nigeria president's jet, but I know it was procured during the Obasanjo regime. Was it procured new or used? Even if it was new when the Obasanjo administration bought it, how do you compare the specs we got to that of the United States? We play too much in this country. |
Gracias!! looks so good.. I'll try this. Maeve7: |
This is a good initiative, but only if the administration can truly implement it. We have heard so many stories way too long to believe anything coming out from successive governments. Again, I still believe the reforms being carried out by this administration is necessary. Of course, there is always going to be some short and mid-term suffering/hardships, but if the government could provide some cushions to the citizens while the hardship phase lasts, we stand to gain a lot in the long run. I have high hopes for NIGERIA. We will get there one day, irrespective of whoever occupies the seat of power. |
Thanks! Maeve7: |
Great... thanks... one more question, what fried chicken seasoning do you use? and also, the quantity of the vegetable oil? Maeve7: |
well, well, well. He is a Nigerian, and as such, he is entitled to his opinion. That's what democracy is all about. People should not attack the messenger, but the message. He was so close to Obi and supported him all the way. For him to now publicly include Obi among the other presidential candidates (Tinubu and Atiku) he wants to step aside speaks volume. Politicians are only after their interest, not yours. So it's kind of a word of advice to the youths. Stop your childish attitude of " the country must burn down" because your candidate lost. No Nigerian politician is worth the fight. If your candidate lost, it simply means he's not good enough. Your candidate's loss should not make you start wishing ill/evil for the country. Some supporters of Peter Obi are hell bent on making sure this administration does not succeed. They wish evil on both the voters and the country as a whole. That is so sad and bizarre. But don't you guys think that voting is a fundamental right of any citizen? Why should people be criticized for their choice? The new talk in town is the upcoming protest. Everyone suddenly remembers that the citizens have the 'right' to protest. Yes, every citizen has a right to protest if they feel the government is not doing enough. Same way people have the right to vote their choice and not be unfairly criticized. Nigerians are hypocrites. They do same thing they criticize other for. I don't think any right-thinking government should try to stop its citizens from peaceful protest. Any violence should be met with full force of the Nigeria Police. |
recipes and spices used for this chicken grill, please? If you could also explain a lil bit about the process. Thanks. Maeve7: |
When will this party actually start taking responsibility for its actions and inactions? They are always looking for excuses to every situation or someone to blame for their stupidity. I'll repeat, no political party or politician in Nigeria is a saint. Not, Obi, not Atiku, and not Tinubu. They are all crooks. So, you lot should stop disturbing us with 'Obi this and Atiku that'. We've only managed to choose the less evil of the 3 we were faced with. Fans and well-wishers of the other crooks that lost the last election should take a chill pill. Let us manage this crook in peace! At least, we all can now see that common party affairs is proving difficult for you to handle, I begin to wonder how you guys planned to manage a country as complex as NIGERIA... Nor be juju be that? |

I fear what fake news is going to do to our nation if this is not urgently checked and addressed. Our dailies are the worse. All they do is copy and paste from different blogs. No investigation, no nothing... I'll rather get my news from the blogs than the likes of them punch, vanguard, guardian, etc. Gone were the days when the dailies were known for accurate reporting.... smh |
In as much as I support the reform being carried out by this administration, I don't think it is wise enough to tell the citizens not to protest peacefully. Peaceful protest is part and parcel of democracy - which we currently practice. Moreover, Tinubu and his goons protested against GEJ. If I'm not mistaken, it seems they even led the protest, not just a regular protester. They now sound more like hypocrites - urging and begging people not to protest peacefully. Now, my only problem is Nigerians don't know how to protest peacefully. It is difficult for a peaceful protest not to be hijacked by criminals in Nigeria. That is my only fear in this. The administration should not be afraid of a peaceful protest. But the fear of the mayhem(s) that has always followed the so-called peaceful protests in Nigeria is scary. A lot of criminals are waiting by the corner to unleash mayhem on people and businesses, all in disguise of protest. All in all, the government should communicate clearly with its citizens, assist the poor and the needy in this difficult period of the reforms, and more importantly, cut down on government cost. I was so disturbed and concerned when news broke the other day that the Nigerian government released N90 billion to subsidize the cost of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage for citizens. This is not only wasteful, but so unreasonable in a country where over 50% of its citizens live below the poverty line. The government really erred on this. Imagine what that amount could have provided for each family in this difficult period. But on a second note, Nigeria is a very religious country. The subsequent government tries to assuage different religious groups so as not to be labeled anti-christian/anti-muslim. At the end of the day, we (both citizens and leaders) are our own problem. As I have always maintained, we need re-orientation as a nation. |
I wholeheartedly agree with the government on this - taxing the banks heavily. Most, if not all Nigerian banks are crooks. They dare not try their gimmicks in any of the western nations. They are part of the problems we have in Nigeria. They are involved in numerous shady deals, ranging from helping politicians to launder their loot, hide their ill-gotten stolen wealth, FOREX racketeering, etc... Just name any shady financial deals, they are wholly involved. Have you checked their end of year statements for the few ones that have branches/operates outside Nigeria. I think Sen. Sani Musa raised a valid point here - " Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Sen. Sani Musa (APC, Niger-East), in defending the plan to tax the profits of banks, said the banks had made more money lately, taking advantage of the administration’s foreign exchange policies. He stated, “The end-of-year reports of the banks tripled, despite the high interest rates. How are they making this money? " They should be taxed heavily to contribute to our economic development. |

but where's the fertilizer?... can't see them. Did you bury them? Also, is it not too early for the army warm attack? How many days after planting did you start seeing the army worms?.. and when did you start the treatment?... and with what? Esude007: |
Naija politicians lol.... in everything you do, make sure you don't offend or be in the black book of a Naija politician. Dem go use your case do PR when they finally get the power. But back to the topic, if the constitution doesn't give powers to the Sultan to make appointments, then I think the governor/government is within his/its right to strip the Sultan of that privilege. Section 76(2) of the Sokoto Local government and Chieftaincy Law give the sultanate council the power to appoint district and village heads in the state but with the approval of the sitting Governor. This I think makes sense. |
I really do like this dude as the NNPC GMD, but with this news, I'm starting to imagine if I've been right all along. Can someone please remind me how long this man has been the NNPC GMD? How come they are just now carrying out a detailed/holistic analysis of assets that revealed that Nigeria could conveniently produce two million barrels of crude oil per day without deploying new rigs? What other job does he have if that wasn't his priority after all these years? Wonders they say shall never end. Well, better late than never. Now that they have the data, know what to fight and have the right tools, we can only HOPE they do the needful to increase our production capacity, thereby increasing government's revenue. Again, hopefully!! |
This is a welcomed development. I believe with patience, these administration's reforms will start to yield the desired results. Agreed, the reforms will lead to high inflation and inflict pains on the citizens in the short-term, but in the mid and long-term, we will reap bountifully from this. Believe me, there is no way we could have continued subsidizing fuel and foreign exchange. Our economy will collapse under such burden due to our population. Our population is supposed to be a blessing, but our clueless leaders has turned it into a curse. If at 200m+, the government was already borrowing to pay subsidy and salaries, what do you think will happen in the next two years? If government is already struggling to pay subsidy for 200m people, how will they be able to afford it in the years ahead with the way Nigerians breed children like rats? Things are really tough right now I must confess, and I hope the government can keep intervening from time to time to lessen the burden on the common man. |

Nigeria as a whole is a crime scene. I will say this again and again, our leaders are a reflection of we the citizens. Everyone is trying to outsmart the other. This is a big shame. The judiciary is supposed to be the hope of the common man... but look at what we have here, magistrates and registrar trying to steal from the same people they are supposed to protect their interest. If our courts can't guarantee us of fairness and justice, who or where do we now run to? Nigerians need re-orientation, period. Kudos to the Kano Judicial Service Commission for the investigation and disciplinary measures. I think the punishment meted out to the crook magistrates and registrar is kind of lenient. These people betrayed trust and their oath of office. I would have supported sentencing them to prison for at least 10-15 years... maybe, just maybe that will deter the next magistrate scheming to toe the same crooked way... but this is Nigeria, even if someone is sentenced to death for an offense, you will see more people scheming to do worse than the convicted. Where are those calling for military rule? You think Tinubu is "shege banza pro-max, military rule is " shege banza pro-INFINITY"... but on a serious note, we achieved a lot of infrastructural development during the military days, but they are the source of the current problem we now find ourselves. They weaken and destroy the system/institutions. Guess what, they found willing partners in some greedy civilians. Paraman: |
tbh, not his fault... if the government had been awake to its responsibility, we won't have nincompoops like this.. Islie: |
