Full disclosure, I co-founded Huboly, so I won't call it the best. On your criteria though: one flat rate per 160-character page, the same on all networks; contacts are free and unlimited; you can send to the whole list or only one group, say workers or a cell; and there's a delivery report for each campaign. It's a promotional route, so DND numbers won't get it, and marketing SMS doesn't go out between 8pm and 8am. Whatever you pick, check what one "unit" buys you. That's where most price comparisons go wrong: https://huboly.com/blog/sms-credit-bundles-vs-pay-per-page |
For anyone finding this now: promotional SMS won't reach numbers on full DND, and routes sold as "bypassing" it tend to swap your sender ID or get it blocked. What actually works is asking your members or customers to text ALLOW to 2442, and reaching the rest by email. I'm with Huboly and we put the STOP, ALLOW and HELP codes in one page here: https://huboly.com/blog/bulk-sms-dnd-nigeria |
Solid comparison. One thing for smaller schools reading this: a full management system can be more than you need if the main job is reaching parents about fees, resumption and results. A parent list tagged by class, plus SMS and email, gets you most of the way at a fraction of the setup. I work on Huboly, which does that part (contacts are free, you only pay for what you send). There's a free generator for fee and resumption notices here if it helps: https://huboly.com/tools/school-parent-message-generator-nigeria |
Useful list. One thing worth adding for anyone comparing: check how the price is quoted. Some sites sell "units" where one SMS to one person takes more than one unit, others charge per 160-character page, and a single emoji or the ₦ sign drops a page to 70 characters. Paste your message into a counter before you budget. We made a free one at Huboly: https://huboly.com/tools/sms-character-counter-nigeria |
You can also try Huboly — https://huboly.com Full disclosure: I’m part of the team building it. Huboly is one of the more affordable bulk SMS options in Nigeria, but beyond pricing, the focus is on making communication easier to manage from one place. You can import and manage contacts, segment audiences, personalise SMS with fields like first name, request your own Sender ID, send bulk SMS, and monitor campaign delivery status from one dashboard. It is especially useful if you do more than occasional SMS and want your contacts, campaigns and follow-ups organised properly instead of using separate tools. We’re still actively improving the platform, so feedback from real users is very welcome. https://huboly.com |
A lot of Nigerian businesses are obsessed with getting more customers. Run Facebook ads. Post more on Instagram. Get more WhatsApp enquiries. Collect more phone numbers. Run another promotion. But I'm beginning to think many businesses don't actually have a lead-generation problem. They have a customer management problem. Think about the average small or growing organisation. Someone fills a form today. Another person sends a WhatsApp message. Someone calls the business line. Another person attends an event and leaves their details. Some contacts are saved on an employee's phone. Some are in Excel. Some are in Google Sheets. Some are buried inside WhatsApp chats. Then three months later, the business wants to reach everyone who showed interest in a particular product or service. Where are those people? That is where the problem begins. We collect contacts, but we don't really build databases There is a big difference between having 5,000 phone numbers and having 5,000 useful customer records. Can you tell: Who each person is? What they are interested in? Where they came from? When they last interacted with your business? Which customers have bought from you before? Who needs a follow-up? Which people should receive a particular message? For many organisations, the answer is no. So businesses keep spending money to acquire new people while gradually losing access to the relationships they have already built. WhatsApp alone isn't a customer database I use WhatsApp heavily, and it is obviously one of the most important communication tools for Nigerian businesses. But once an organisation starts growing, there is a limit to how much customer information should live inside individual WhatsApp chats and employees' phones. The same thing happens with Excel. You eventually have files like: customers_final.xlsx customers_final2.xlsx UPDATED CUSTOMER LIST.xlsx FINAL CUSTOMER LIST NEW.xlsx And nobody is completely sure which one is actually current. 😄 The real problem isn't Excel. It isn't WhatsApp either. The real problem is fragmentation. What I think growing businesses should start doing Even before buying sophisticated software, every organisation should have one central place where its contact information lives. A contact should be more than: Seth Samuel - 080XXXXXXXX You should be able to know things like: Location: Abuja Interest: Business Software Customer Type: SME Source: Website Status: Trial User Last Contact: September Once you have this kind of information, communication becomes much more useful. Instead of sending the same SMS to 10,000 people, you can send a relevant message only to the people it actually concerns. The same applies to email. If someone fills another form tomorrow, ideally, their information should update the contact you already have instead of creating another disconnected spreadsheet. This problem is partly why we're building Huboly Full disclosure: I'm one of the founders of Huboly. We recently opened our public beta. The idea is simple: Give organisations one place to manage their contacts and the communication around those relationships. We're currently bringing together things like: Contact management Custom contact fields Forms Contact segmentation Personalised SMS Email campaigns Team collaboration Communication automation ...into one system. You can see what we're building here: https://huboly.com https://huboly.com We're still early, which is actually why I'm interested in hearing how other Nigerian businesses handle this problem. My question to business owners here: If you suddenly needed to contact every customer who bought from you, registered with you, attended one of your events, or showed interest in your business within the last 12 months... Could you actually find all of them? And where are you currently keeping your customer information? WhatsApp? Phone contacts? Excel? Google Sheets? A CRM? Something else? I'm genuinely interested in seeing how different businesses are solving this. |
Nigeria’s real estate market continues to grow, yet access to clear, well-structured property information remains a major challenge for buyers, renters, and investors. Property news, legal updates, court cases, and listings are often scattered across different platforms, making it difficult for people to connect market realities with real opportunities. From observing property trends and reports across several states, a recurring issue is the lack of context around listings. Many properties are advertised without sufficient background on location trends, legal history, or current market conditions, which increases uncertainty and risk for those trying to make informed decisions. Another concern is the delay or absence of reporting on critical property-related developments such as land disputes, government policies, and fraud cases. These issues directly affect property values and ownership security, yet they rarely receive consistent, property-focused coverage. This gap highlights the need for platforms that combine property news, market insights, and listings in one place, allowing readers to understand not just what is available, but why it matters. Platforms like https://propertyaccess.ng are increasingly taking this approach by curating real estate news alongside verified listings to support better decision-making. For those active in the property market, what information do you find hardest to access today — credible listings, legal clarity, or timely property news? |
